BigJeff Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I've never gone shopping on BF, and all this talk of it has me interested. Is there anyone out there like me who has never gone BF shopping at a B&M store?
Mike Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Its quite exciting, or at least it can be. I hope you go out this year...at least to a couple stores.

Is there anyone out there like me who has never gone BF shopping at a B&M store?I am a BF noob... I've always been the guy in my family that waits until the afternoon on xmas even to finish up all my shopping.
Guest AshleyNichole Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Last year was my first time, but I didn't do much shopping for myself. It was really crazy! Last year I got a good deal on a flat panel monitor, but then I went and replaced with with a laptop a few months later. Oh well! This year my roommate wants to get a large flat panel television. I'll be benefitting from that one, so SURE, I'll help her fight the crowds!
mrn8 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I am a BF noob... I've always been the guy in my family that waits until the afternoon on xmas even to finish up all my shopping. That's even worse than shopping on BF! There is nothing left in the stores and the shoppers and cashiers are all really crabby. I had to find 1 gift the day before Christmas last year, and it was horrible. They ended up getting a Barnes & Noble gift card.
kmbrly Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Years ago you couldn't pay me any amount of money to be out on BF. Then one year I went, and I was hooked. It's like an adrinaline rush... lol

Grants Dad Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Last year was the first year I went BF shopping with the wife, never realized the competitive spirit out there in the early morning. Never imagined the mean streak in the wife when somebody came close to "her deals".... I'm appropriately excited, and scared for this years BF.
Ravenseye Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 About the only time I've gone out on a mission that day was to grab some deals on perfumes and some other things for my ex. That was a few years ago now and I got hooked on watching all the people go looney that morning, and I got hooked. The last few years I haven't really been needing anything for christmas for others. I'm one of those who gives everyone cash so they can go nutso shopping for themselves. -Mike
elena_398 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Im a pro! One day I would love to get my husband to go out with me if we could ever get a sitter for the kids. He never believes the pushing/shoving sometimes. I tell him stories and he never believes them! I don't think though he'd ever agree to stand in line at 2am. LOL. He's barely turning over at that point
couponmamaoftwins Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Im a pro! One day I would love to get my husband to go out with me if we could ever get a sitter for the kids. Same thing here....don't think I would ever get hubby to go. He just doesn't understand getting up to go shopping when it's still dark outside. Oh well...
starshine Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 My Dh would never survive a BF he is to nice! He would just give away everything that I fought for. So he is better off at home watching our son and drinking his coffee! Anyway BF is when I get all his new tools from Sears for Christmas.
Guest Deals4Me Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I am just laughing so hard at ya'll... casue its so familiar! I am generally the nicest person ever...but bf, its everyman for himself. And people DO steal out of the carts...its awful...cut in line... omg its awful., But I wouldnt miss it for the world!( unless the deals lack to impress me)
Gumball Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I'm a single parent so I have to take my daughter with me every year. She's 6 now so getting her into a cart is getting tougher but she's still safer that way. I've told her in previous years that if she sees someone trying to take something out of our cart while I'm getting something else to yell her head off! She makes a great alarm. LOL
amiller17 Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I went last year for the first time --- after thinking about it, maybe about 7-8 years ago me and an ex went shopping on BF and he was not impressed by the nuts and crazies as he called them. He went to the hunting section and waited on me- well for awhile. He bugged me till I left. So I guess that was actually my first time. We never went shopping again. I like the shop til you drop or run out of money!
Tracy72 Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 I am just to nice for this day...lol... I always let somebody in before me...I let the other person get the cart...lol...I have been going for 7 yrs ..you think I would have learnt by now to fend for myself...lol
disneytati Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 This is gonna be my first BF, and I just can't wait!!! I really hope I can get the items I want. As I am from Brazil, I am used to people pushing, cutting in line, getting things from your cart... So I guess I'll survive!
elena_398 Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Just remember to map out where your going. Show up early-dressed for the weather! Bring ads if price matching and just have fun getting those deals!

Trying to get restricted to a smaller area would avoid getting lost. I've already found lots of nice stores together!!!
