shanni Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Every year no matter what store we are in, my husband and I always wind up helping elderly people carry their stuff to their cars. Last year at our local sears we were there 20 minutes after we were done shopping just helping people carry their TVs out to their cars, they only had 2 people working in the store, both running the regisiters! I didn't mind helping them but in the back of my mind I was thinking OMG I am missing a sale at another store!!!
Angelseyes28 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 LOL I have learned never to try to help anyone. Last year a couple tried to help an elderly lady get her stuff out to her car.....she smacked them with her purse. She thought they were trying to snatch away all the good deals she got:sidesplit
outnumbered Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 That was really nice of you. Nothing like that has ever been needed around here...plenty of workers.
elena_398 Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 always full of workers. Im by myself on BF so if anything I need help! Too many packages and only 2 arms. BUT if I didn't have anything and left the store (yeah right) I would help someone
starshine Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I have helped older people get stuff into there carts and things off high shelves. But by the time I check out I'm ready to hop in the car and go to the next store.

DragonSlayer1500 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I'm not trying to sound like a jerk here...but me personally, I wouldn't take the time. I have to much stuff that I want (I love being selfish sometimes) and the store employees are there for a reason.
Gumball Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I'm not trying to sound like a jerk here...but me personally, I wouldn't take the time. I have to much stuff that I want (I love being selfish sometimes) and the store employees are there for a reason. They may be "there" but I think they go into hiding at the Walmart here, esp. in the toy dept.! You can never find someone when you really need them.
bayhaysay Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I'm not trying to sound like a jerk here...but me personally, I wouldn't take the time. I have to much stuff that I want (I love being selfish sometimes) and the store employees are there for a reason.Sometimes the employees are not there, and on BF they may be there but everyone is extremely busy. I think it's great that they help people if they need it, I have done the same thing myself. I hope that when I'm 95 and still shopping on BF someone will help me out, whether it be an employee or just your average nice person.
erh12275 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Nope but I am usually the person holding someone's spot inline when they find something in my cart they didn't know was on sale and wanna go back and try and get it...lol.
Mommie2one Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I've never been out on BF, but if someone needed help and no employees were around, I would help.
RossMAN Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I've helped people but only after my merchandise is secure or my wife is able to watch it.
blakes_mommy Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I always help, but not on black friday!!!!!
BrandyJervas Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I'm never able to help I'm always by myself and have too much of my own crap to carry lol but would if I was able to.
justbarbour Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I guess this thread is the response to the thread a few days ago re: "What's your happiest/most fulfilling BF moment?"
treasure60 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 If I had all my things that I wanted,,,I probably would help out. I have a soft spot for the elderly and can't refuse helping them.

rc9277 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 It's going to be too chaotic on BF to try to help anyone.
rosegarden Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 We're so busy trying to get our stuff in our cars that I've never noticed anyone else needing help. If I saw someone, I know we'd help them
