rolopari Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 First in line. Our paper said they open at midnight. They are only letting 100 people in at a time.
onecutemoocow Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 our paper said 10pm they open. We will not stand in the rain, so we are leaving a little after 930
magst24 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 our paper said 10pm they open. We will not stand in the rain, so we are leaving a little after 930 See your from Pittsburgh, What TRU do you go to?
siczlo Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 DH said manager said they only have 2 IPODS! Glad he's not there for one of those. Also, manager said he will be handing out tickets in about an hour....but he didn't say what for.
siczlo Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 DH said aboput 100 people in line now. Rumor that manger is only going to let 30 in at a time....
freesia39 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 We drove by our local one at 8pm, there were about 7 people in line.
siczlo Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 DH conquered and is back home. Said they did a good job of only letting in a few at a time.
jrdoa Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Niles, Il was to open at 10pm. At 10:30, there was a line out the door and around the building. Must be hundreds of people and they are only letting in so many at a time. Thanks, but no thanks.
Scooby_Doo Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Massive crowd here too.... Stand in line in near zero temps for saving $10??? NO THANKS.
civiclover88 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 The TRU near me (Portsmouth, NH) was packed. The line was at least a quarter mile long. The manager said that they could only allow 50 people in the store at a time. Even with the store being disorganized, things went pretty smooth and I got all the things I wanted.
noehlp Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 At a little after 8 pm cst there was way over 100 people in line at my local TRU. And the parking lot was nearly full, I'm sure lots other people were waiting in their cars.
sgoodhue Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 TRU in South Des Moines very orderly. Letting in people by 25. Got everything and check out in hour. Great check out process too. Got everything on my list but I didn't need electronics.
jade6700 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Any update on the Santa Sing-A-Ma-jigs? Did they only have a few or were there plenty? Just curious. Thanks!
jessifarr Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 There were PLENTY of the sing-a-migs at my store!
Scooby_Doo Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Went back out at 3:30... the parking lot looked a whole lot different... no lines, the place was reasonable busy but not crowded, got what i wanted (surprisingly they had any left). The cashiers were actually waiting for people to come up. Chatted with the clerk for a bit about the rush earlier. Now if all BF's could be like that LOL
tiredsportsmom Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 was #100 in line @ 7:45 (in the rain!!) manager came down line handing out tickets for netbooks, ipods, etc. counted groups of 50, let first group in at 10pm, 3 mins later next group, every 3 mins let 50 in until they reached 300 then waited 15 mins before 50 more entered. I was only interested in toys for ages 4 and under and manage to get what was on my list, saved $160 so it was worth it!!
mrnicksr Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 The line was so long out here that we did not get inside until after 11! But I got EVERYTHING I went for and saved a fortune so it was worth standing in the cold rain! I think TRU had the fastest, most organized cashiers out of ANY store this weekend! I was VERY impressed how well they handled a crowd twice the size of Best Buys!
bigjimslade Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 At the TRU in Dallas they called the police since several women started to fight. When the police got there they started to only let 20 people in at a time. In another city one woman threatened to pull a gun on people if they did not let her cut in line.
tinkrbel Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 In another city one woman threatened to pull a gun on people if they did not let her cut in line. These are the ppl that give us a bad name. What could have been so valuable to her that called for that? If people actually watched for deals year round there would not be such mass hysteria on BF as they'd know a good deal from a lukewarm one.
