Svuroo Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I think we will be hitting everything in Deer Park... is Vernon Hills unnaturally crazy on BF? Well, it's going to be unnaturally crazy anywhere, but you know what I mean I used to work right behind that mall and had to squeeze in last year's shopping in the area before going there. Some of the parking lots are not meant to hold that many cars but the lines aren't too nuts. Vernon Hills is comical as the people swiftly move en masse from the electronics stores to the mall to wait in another line.
booga12345 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Albuquerque Journal was still only 0.50 this morning :)
mommyruiz Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The Kansas City Star goes up to two dollars every year on thanksgiving
cronos Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Confirmed in Madison, WI. It's $2 instead of the regular $0.75 This is the first year they've done that. Last year we bought the paper at regular price ($0.5 then) on turkey day. I'm just hoping they pay the carriers appropriately (as if it's Sunday).
celestiaann Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Went to the gas station (qt) and saw a sign saying the the paper would be 3 bucks on thanksgiving.. i think the tulsa world is usually 75 cents or a dollar.. nice little jump there..

Those streets weren't even meant to hold that many cars, and people were just giving up and parking along the highway to get out and walk. It was insane, but it was definitely interesting! We're planning on heading to Woodfield later in the morning... we've determined that we really must like pain. *lol* BF is great for people watching, though. I'll probably grab some tea, a bench, and just observe.
conj Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I looked at the store today - some papers (the bigger ones) were sunday prices, the small town ones were daily prices...
Svuroo Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Now I am pissed at the Trib. $2 and a lot of the major ads are missing, including the ones to the major stores I plan to go to! Anyone else who bought the Chicago Tribune missing ads for Staples and Kohls?
SuggaD Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I paid $3 for the Dallas Morning News. Price gouging!
scjets Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The State paper in Columbia, SC was $3.00 today. The paper, my sister bought, was missing half the ads.
acrawford7 Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 WoW. I feel really blessed. I have a weekend only subscription for our local paper, The Advocate and I receoved a free paper Thursday.
dhascall Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 We noticed that our subscription for the Indianapolis Star included Sunday pricing for Thursday. Any chance to rake the loyal customer over the coals!
