Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007

Wow, I usually don't hit the dollar spot, but they had some really cute closet organization stuff. My big splurge was a Kitchen-Aid 10 piece cookware set (copper bottom). It was 50% off of the original price of 199.99. I needed a new set of cookware, but I wish it was 75% off! I also got some tie out stakes for my dogs. They ended up being $2.50. I will use the stakes in the summer when I am outside gardening. -

Be on the lookout for internet returns.. My store has been shoving them on endcaps and for the most part the furniture that has been coming back has been priced 50% off of what it is on Target.com. (As Is stickers.) However... I bought a dark walnut bookcase today that was normall 60.00 on Target.com in the store for $3.16! The only bad thing is-it's sometimes hard to guess whats in the box, no picture or description. -

Chris&Freddie, Did you see the specials for today? They don't have the same Relaxzen chair, but they have one that looks much nicer. This chair got better reviews than the 98.00 one, and I think it will withstand more wear and tear. 100 more but worth it IMHO. They don't have black ones, but brown and tan. -
I ordered some stuff on Kohl's.com last night. When I used the first card, it would not go through because I could barely read the CRV on the back (due to BF usage!) and so it declined the sale. Second card went through fine. I checked the first card and was charged 4 times! I called Kohl's.com and there was an automated msg that said due to high call volumes please call back. I called my store for the corporate # which they gave me. Called corporate (THE FIRST TIME) and the op immediately transferred me to Kohls.com, no apologies nothing. I at least expect some apology on the corporate level. She must have put me on a different line, but I was on hold for 30 minutes! As I was on hold with them, I called corporate again and told them that I was still on hold. The operator said that it was because of the sale and holidays. I said "If you are going to open your stores later in prep for the holidays wouldn't you ramp up the call center as well?!" She had no answer for that. I asked for the name or number or something to the director of Kohls.com ops and she said that she could give me nothing! As I hung up with her FINALLY someone comes on. She says that even if the card #'s aren't right, the amount is put on hold for a few days. I only got one confirmation. The amount is not pending but charged 4x on my first card, as well as the one that did go through on my second. Can they do this? I have never heard of any holds if a card does not go through. After the end of my conversation, it was clear that she was as stumped as I was, but offered no help with the situation. When we went to target, there was a fraud lock on my card when I tried to use it and this never happened? I don't understand. I am very close to returning the items from the B&M store and cancelling the online transaction, not because the of the cc mess, which can always be resolved by calling my CC company. What I am MAD about is the lack of concern, not only on the .com level but at the CORPORATE level! Any other time I have had to call the corporate offices of a company, they have gone out of their way to help a customer. I can at least speak for my company, which 4 mos. out of the year I am store management and the rest of the year I travel and am part of the corporate office. I have to say I think Kohl's is going to lose a good customer...

Hey Chris&freddie, Keep looking at the Wal-Mart Website for the next couple of days. I noticed that on Monday the 1ct. earrings were out of stock, and they are now back up! Hopefully this will happen for your chair.:) -
Wow, that's cool of you to do that. Hope it works out for the OP. Feeling the gottadeal love!

It's an addiction..I don't go crazy everywhere, just Target. I ALWAYS get Target gc's for Christmas. Saving $ is in my genes though, my dad's an auction nut, my mom sold antiques, my uncle and my cousin live very comfortably by selling on Ebay and have some really cool stuff that they have come across in the years. My mom always likes to tell people "We strapped her into the stroller at 3 mos. to go to yard sales!". I love target clearance b/c sometimes it's yard sale prices without the effort.AND you can return something if you regret buying it! -

Lucked out BIG time... There was a Singer sewing machine that was hidden behind some others. Original price was 159.99 marked down to 111.96. I took it to the scanner and it was 38.64! It is an 80 stitch function model. DCPI is 072120241. The person who hid it is going to be PO'd but it serves them right- they left the corner with the red sticker exposed on the shelf, and my red sticker radar caught it! I am kind of glad that BF is over. I get way better deals in the clearance sections, not to mention this BF was not as exciting as I had hoped. -
I am in retail management, so I understand how hard it is to hire up for the front end. However, when I see long lines, every available manager in the store hops onto the register if there are no other associates to be had. (I also have issues with hiring- I work in a specialty retail company where everyone wants the fun job and no one wants to cashier or stock) Unfortunately, when I used to shop at Wal-Mart on a regular basis, I would watch front end managers stand around in a group and talk about nothing or stare at their symbol guns willing the lines away so they wouldn't have to get on a register. And I have seen this on BF!! I really hope Wal-Mart continues with the all lanes open, and understand it's all about customer service, ultimately. BUT- this campaign would not have had to take place if the lines were monitored and there was a policy or procedure for this problem. This is a company wide problem, not a regional one- Wal-Mart has admitted this by adding the campaign. The public was asking for the appropriate amont of lanes open, not all of them open, and now the company had to overcompensate for this, as they should rightly do. I wonder how WM's P&L was affected by this? ydkjman, I do respect you for all of your effort. It's a hard job, no matter what the company. I always tell people that you haven't lived until you've worked retail management!

I had no problem at all with my price adjustment at all. I did ask when I got my items, and also got the name of the guy who helped me with that question. When I went back I told the nice girl at the desk that he had told me it was ok to do the PA's. She didn't bat an eyelash, just did the adjustment with a smile. She also moved the items from my debit to my credit card (I was declined when I went to buy my items, fraud alert was raised because I don't use it very much.) and I saved over $500 with the PA's! What is the most suprising is that this store is less than two months old! WAY TO GO RIVERDALE TARGET! YOU ALL ROCK!

HAHAHAHAHA!! I never thought those little lights over the registers worked in Wal-Mart. At least, I have rarely seen one on in my past visits. I may just cruise the aftermath on BF and see how many lines are open then. It'll probably look like a ghost town.

Woohoo! My target will have them.. The only thing is that I bought all of my stuff earlier this evening, to avoid going early in the morning on Fri. Wonder if there are any gift cards in the survival kits?

Got a good deal on a lexmark printer today. Didn't have original price on it, but it had an as is sticker on it. Funny, the original price on the as is was $8.68 but the current price was 14.97! The original price was scratched out with a pen. I needed a new printer anyway so I was willing to pay the full price. When I got to the register, it was...8.68. Also the box looks like it has never been opened! DCPI 080030307. Also got a Monty Python T shirt for my DH-2.46 and also a satteen looking toss pillow for 4.98 that I have been eyeing to go down from 20.00. I bought some mens wool socks that were originally 5.99 @ 1.43. All in all pretty good day. -
Hi, My dryer conked out 2 days ago so I went ALL over the place looking for a dryer on Clearance. I ended up going to Lowe's and got a GREAT deal on a clearanced Bosch dryer that was normally 900$ down to 300$ because of a dent in the side. What do I care? It's sitting in the laundry room! Also what I like about clearanced Lowe's stuff is that it comes with the manufacturers warranty and because you are the original owner, you can use it. Not so if you buy a used appliance off of craigslist! Good Luck!:)

For those who are interested in the pepsi deal for thanksgiving @ Kmart... If you have an A&P near you, Pepsi 2 liters are 10 for 8$ this week, one cent more than the Kmart thxgiving ad. Save some trunk space on Thanksgiving!

Had a good target day in Wayne NJ! I usually avoid going there because of the traffic, but I got more bulbs for 3.xx and also a tent was marked down for 12.xx from 49.99! I also got an Eddie Bauer camp cooking kit (makes waffles!) for 7.44. I also got a Phillips mini home theater system that was 172.99 at 50% off. It was hard for me to buy it at 50% but dh has been wanting one so I caved. There were also some 16 piece china sets that were marked down to 14.97 from 59.99. I didn't buy them though, the pattern wasn't for me. It was VERY hard for me to walk away from the china. Does anyone else have a hard time walking away from a deal even if you know that you won't use it and have no one to give it to? My husband says that I will soon need to deal with my "problem" as it's getting out of hand... Although, he wasn't complaining about the theater system that I bought! -

Hi All, First post for perimeter perusing @ Target, I'm in Redding, Ca on business and stopped in a few days ago at the store here, they had Sirius sportsters originally 119.99 marked down to around 60 bucks. I came back to look at them and they are now 70% off for $30.04!! I got one for myself and my husband. There are about 6 more left, they also had Ipod docking clock radio/am/fm speaker systems originally $199 down to $50.00. -
I am usually too excited to sleep the night before, so I stay up to do the online BF shopping (Kohl's, Best Buy, etc.) Then I'll go out and do any other shopping that I want to do. I am usually in bed by 10am.

I got the same flatware set too at my Target. Everything was in there. I had first bought another smaller set, and when I went home, it was missing a spoon. I'll take that one back. I don't think they are going to give you a new knife because they gave you the extra 10% but you could call Target and try... I also had a lady following me around picking up stuff after I did. At one point, she was on the same endcap with me as I was picking up a cup to match the other 3 in my cart. She says "are you going to take that?" as I was putting it in my cart! I wanted to say something smart like "no, I am just going to push it around the store and leave it in an aisle for you to find." but I live in Jersey and really do not need to be shot or knifed over a cup. -
I saw last year's hours at 6AM... Does anyone know if it'll be the same this year?
