1. I thought the Sears ad was pretty good. We got an excellent deal on our microwave, and a good deal on tires. (It's sad that I get excited about tires, but I do.) 2.Bring a totally disinterested spouse that only wants tires. That way you have a RELIABLE getaway vehicle. 3. I like the idea of a silly q and a game where you win prizes. (Like where is Target's headquarters located, etc.) Unfortunately with a long line it would be hard to manage. It would get your mind off the cold though.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
alexac replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Hi all, I haven't posted in a very long time. Just wanted to let you know that the Riverdale NJ target went 75%. Still a lot left, I had to really rein myself in from previous clearance spending habits, lol. Two gifts for each kid in my family, and we are done with Christmas for them! Spent about $55 and got; ### 086020078 Disney Fairy Plush (Rosetta) 3.24 ### 086081437 Rescue Pets beagle 6.24 ### 087021178 Mood lamp thingy can hook to alarm clock below 7.48 ### 087021181 Alarm Clock 7.48 ### 087050605 Air Hogs Gravity Racer 7.48 ### 087101387 Wooden Chinese Checkers, Chess and Checkers 2.48 ### 204030743 Shake and Crash Cars (2) 3.98 ### 204032956 Yo Gabba Gabba Guitar 4.98 ### 204110516 Nat Geo R/C Spider 4.32 (It was all I could do not to keep this for myself and scare the hell out of people at work) My husband only had one condition for my spree; that all toys would annoy the parents of the children receiving them. I think I did a good job. -

Lucked out big time with the electronics clearance; Samsung 37" LCD 1080p Tv DCPI:008090342 = $320.04 Sylvania 42" LCD 1080p Tv DCPI:008091137= $324.04 (special edition) It's great cause we were in the market for a new tv downstairs, and I am basically upgrading the tv upstairs and can sell it for what I paid for the Samsung! My hubby was happy. I also got a Magellan Roadmate 1400, DCPI:057160008 for $84.98. Sorry I don't know what the original prices were, the tags weren't on the items (I had to manually enter them into the scanner). -

Just a heads up, and I don't have a receipt by me for the DCPI but certain Berts Bees items are 75% OFF! at my target today. I bought the gift set with the wristlet and shimmer, 4 pack lip gloss, and they had lotion gift sets in cute bee bags that I have never seen before. Sorry if someone already pointed this out. -

I found a boat load of men's hoodies and henleys and womens workout pants and shirts at 75% off. It was crazy. Didn't bother with the toys, don't need em. I did find my first (and last) MM. I just wanted to find it for the challenge. Now I can skip that aisle for good. -

It has nothing to do with NJ. It has to do with your Target. They don't know what they are talking about. The above should only happen with seasonal, not regular clearance. I have never had a problem returning things for the price I paid if I have a receipt. There are a few other NJ posters on this thread, maybe they have your issue returning? But not me. -

I think it was 24.99 (50% off). It was the Champagne color. I would have waited for the price to drop more but I really needed something! They also had the hard floor thing, the broom, and the Kone at 50%. -

I am one of the avid DD broom haters. However, I just bought a Kurv on clearance. I figured I would return it if I didn't like it, and I needed a hand vac anyway to touch up. It's ok. Nothing special. It's kind of loud, I guess. I haven't had a hand vac in a long time. It sucks up dog hair very well. I don't know about much else, but that's ok. I hate dragging the dyson out every day so this is more convenient. I really wanted a dyson hand vac but 6 minutes max until charge? no way. -

Oh NO they didn't! I would be making some phone calls to Target Corporate, and to my lawyer. They are accusing you of being a thief, (since you were not creating a disturbance) and they cannot make those assumptions without concrete proof. Ask them to show you any video, take down their name and call customer service to verify that you are not allowed back in that store. I bet you'll get an apology, the manager was in the wrong. If there are any issues that Target needs to address to it's guests, they have a loss prevention team to handle things that they deem questionable. -

Hey everybody, Check the candle section for Xmas candles at 90% stores. I just bought enough candles to last me for a year. I guess the stockers don't really pay attention. I bought a bunch of the soy candles for 1.xx each, and plenty of others for super cheap. I had a whole cart full. I also found two of the turtle wax kits for 2.99 each, a punch bowl for 2.99 and a full size sheet set for 1.99. Found lots more for super cheap and even found holiday cheese balls for 90% off! Expiration for those is OCT09 so I guess I have a while to eat them. Also, check the regular placemat area for seasonal thrown in. I paid .39 each for really nice ones that were mixed in. Also got a table cloth for 1.99 that I had left on the shelf a week ago. Bought a S & H wreath for 2.95- the cashier changed the price for me. Also got some of the "pineapple" silverware that was sitting on the shelf with all of the other silverware. Great day! Saved a LOT of $$$! Both of the stores I went to were 90% off (Riverdale NJ and Spring Valley, NY) however you really have to search to find deals. -

I found the CUTEST oversized penguin doormat and went ahead and bought it. I also got some bounty paper towels but left the darn coupons at home. People had destroyed the holiday section. It's unfortunate because there was a lot of broken merchandise, people knocking over and stepping on glass ornaments to get to stuff. How greedy. -

Black Friday Sales up a modest 3% despite Recession Fears
alexac replied to Carazariah's topic in 2008
It would be interesting to see how much merchandise is brought back during this season.I think there will be a lot more returns than usual as people get more frugal. I know I have brought back quite a lot more than normal because I don't absolutely need certain things, and we aren't making the income that we were making last year.... -
We went in on Saturday to buy some Christmas village houses and it was at 25%.. Swarms of people in that one tiny aisle. We bought a couple of houses, they rang up 50% off. DH went back last night, and everything he bought rang up 50%, although there were still 25% off signs everywhere. My husband came home and told me how people were grabbing things left and right, one lady tried to take his cart! He was like WTF? and she pretended that he wasn't there. The houses were mostly gone at that point, and I guess she wanted DH's.

So I may not make much sense as I write this, but I have been up since 6 am Thanksgiving day! I stayed up and bought a bunch of stuff at Kohl's.com; Down Alternative Comforter, pr of men's work boots, pr of womens snow boots, 17.99 dog bed, and a hat. Drug my husband out at 3:30 for his FIRST black friday EVER! (I also think it may have been his last.) Stopped for coffee at 7 Eleven, the guy who runs it must have known why we were up so early, he asked us to get an SD card for him! LOL... No problem! Went directly to Kohls for my price adjustments on a bunch of clothes and slippers and robes and a heated blanket. There was NO ONE in line for customer service! I was in and out in 5 minutes! Husband strategically waited with the car running outside (so far so good!) He watched people running to their cars while I was inside and said that it kinda reminded him of the looting scene in Cloverfield... Drove to JC Penneys.. Got the King size electric blanket, and more slippers and a snowglobe (first time ever!) It took me a while to find the blanket...Long lines, but was out 5 minutes before 5. Again DH with the truck outside... Went to Sears. Watched the huge line of people from the safety of the Auto Center. Bought tires. The people there were super cool. We were going to come back for the install, but the manager was like "let me put it on the lift now and it will be done in an hour"! We got a gift card for 60$ by purchasing the tires, and a 56$ rebate that was not advertised anywhere in the ad! There was maybe 1 person other than us in the auto center. As we waited on the truck, we went in to get more work boots and also a Stainless over the range microwave. It was chaos in there. NO one knew what was going on. The guy who was helping us had no idea what was going on. A total nightmare. However, I got my microwave ordered and I used my gift card and a coupon. Any fun DH may have been having up to this point had now disappeared. Went to Target and price adjusted seasons 1-3 of The Office. Was refunded 64 bucks! In and out in 5 minutes. Was kinda disappointed with Targets ad this year. On to Staples. Got the 19.99 shredder and tried to PA the P-Touch. They wouldn't do it, and were incredibly rude. This Staples I had never been to. We ended up going to the staples up the street from me and the SM said they were crazy, and adjusted my p-touch. Went to a couple more stores and bought nothing. We went to our favorite diner and went home. Back by 10. We got everything we wanted and then some.
-
No problems here! Staples was a different story.

You are welcome! Hope you like it. I justify many things during BF
-
FWIW, I got the down alternative comforter last year at Kohl's on BF...It is fantastic. It's peached so it's nice and soft. Unfortunately my corgi puppy DESTROYED it so I had to get another this year. The down one is probably great too, but we already have 2 down comforters. Because it's a down ALTERNATIVE comforter, I can justify buying it. In my head.
-
Woo! Thanks for the code.. I got 2 pairs of boots, a dog bed, a down alt. comforter, and a hat for 89.07! No shipping charge too! Yay!
-
:cheesy:Thanks! I got two pairs of undies for $5 shipped.
