I got one of these at Staples on BF and it has saved me from forking over money to buy a new computer. Before, the comp would over heat after 10 minutes. I put one of these babies on and haven't had a problem since! Great product and a great deal! It's light too and doesn't take up much more space so traveling with it isn't a problem

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008

I picked up a firepit for 17xx, and a square tabletop fire bowl for 5xx. I also picked up two small round tabletop firebowls for 1xx, I have no idea why the round ones were still there-they must have just put them out. I got xbox Grand theft san andreas for 9xx. Also picked up another 68" grill cover for 6xx, I was going to take the one I bought last month back but I am sure that my DH will set one on fire, so I'll need a spare. I am taking the dirt devil broom back, it it HORRIBLE!!! Too heavy and doesn't pick up much. I had bought a little shark stick vac for 9.99 during BF and it works SO much better than the DD. In two weeks I am going to be traveling for work. This will last about 8 months or so, and I always hit a target or two in every city I go to. I have shipped stuff home before much to the chagrin of my DH.I will keep you guys posted on what I find! -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008

Hi all, So I had a SCARY dream last night. I dreamt that I was in Target doin my usual and the associates were tearing the scanners out of the wall! I asked one what he was doing and he said "corporate says the shoppers are getting too good of a deal." I ran out of the store and went to my store, grabbed my symbol gun and snuck back to scan stuff. WHY am I dreaming about this? Am I that obsessed?!?! -
Also don't quit going to Target or cancel your accounts. One bad experience does not represent the company. Asking someone to take out their piercings is not discrimination. There are EOE guidelines that you need to follow. Tattoos and piercings aren't one of them, sorry. The company has a right to say "take out your piercings or cover your tattoos while you are at work." They are considered adornments. Believe me I have LARGE tattoos all over my body. I have had tons of piercings (even corsets) but there is a time and place for everything. I am cool with that. However large companies like this want everyone to look the same so that they can be easily recognized. That is why they wear UNI forms. I also get upset when I encounter bad customer service. I give everything in me to make sure that customer is happy when they walk out the door, and I won't patronize anywhere that would treat me any other way. But I do know people have bad days and can generally forgive that.

I always check the price on the scanner instead of bugging CS or getting up to the reg suprised. HOWEVER- If anyone, management or otherwise, talked to me like that, I would have made sure that the GM, the district manager, the district services manager, and the regional vice pres. knew about this person. I would have stood right there and said, "I think I am going to need to speak to the General Manager about this, so that I can get your district manager's contact information. By the way what is your store number?" I bet she would have started to be nice quick. About the piercing thing- I have tats on my EARS. I am also a manager in a big box retail store and do field work for the corporate offices. However, I want to conform to the image that the company wants to project. I wear (expensive ) make up to cover them and my hair down a lot. I can bet that she is going against Targets policies and procedures. Trust me she'll get hers if the DM walks in and sees her, and if she continues to be a PITA to customers. You also may want to make a call to your Attorney General's office about the incorrect pricing and the way that they handled it. You can also call your state or county's Weights and Measures department and request an audit. For every incorrect UPC, tag placement, or bag weight the store gets hit with a hefty fine. You may want to let the GM know you will be calling them. You will get an apology at the very least. It's not just the toilet seat but if they are setting the other planograms carelessly. Their pricing is probably more inconsistent than you think.

Yay! Went to bloomingdales to buy travel soap from clinique, and they were running gift. I always seem to buy clinique when it's gift, forcing me to spend more. Oh well, I liked it this time, had some good stuff in it.

Aww, shucks! Thanks Cokemeyer! Actually I used to be much nicer to people before I moved to NJ from SC. I am not trying to sound stereotypical, but I feel that I have turned in to a much less trusting and more impatient person. I am doing my best to avoid becoming *that person*. I also think its because I work down the street from them doing the same thing, and understand how some of the associates are feeling. Maybe they read that when I am talking to them. I am the person who tries to scan as much as possible and not ask if I can help it, ALWAYS puts things back where I got them, and I find myself moving product to the right spot down the aisle. I also find myself picking up trash..I can't help it, it's ingrained! Maybe that's why some of the Target people like me! -

My moral of the story is to always be really nice to the associates of the store. It doesn't hurt that I come to shop in my retail mgmt garb, I think sometimes it's easier to to connect with them? -

OMG! I went in to get some V-day stuff now 75% and saw a cute trunk thing (distressed cream color) in GB (50%)and it had no price, no UPC nothing. I asked the nice guy if he would be able to scan it for me, he said that he would be able to tell by the description. He still couldn't find it, and wrote down a UPC to take it up front. He said that I would be pleasantly suprised. I said OK, and walked up front. He also happened to be up front ringing (apparently he was the GM of the store!) He was grinning when I got to the register. He scanned it and I about fell over (4.98!) even though I don't know how much it was, I know that GB is $$$ and it was still a fantastic deal... But it gets better. I also stopped at the one closer to where I live and they had the same one sitting there waiting for me. It had a tag and it's original price was $116!!! I asked the the guy if he could do the same price for me and showed him my reciept. Also let him know that I would be ok if he couldn't, just thought I would ask. He said he could go down to 30.00. I said that was too much for me but appreciated his time to help me. He told if it was still here at 75% off he would remember me and give me the same price I paid at the other store. Now when I had originally walked up to GB a guy was fighting with him on the price and being kind of a pain. Once the associate went to help him again, I heard the guy (fighting w/the price) say "YOU JUST TOLD HER 75% OFF!" Well me and my big mouth turned the corner and said "no he would give me the price I wanted WHEN it went to 75% off. The guy left and Target guy said thks for taking my side! I am going to give that to you for $10.00! He wrote a upc down and told me to take it to the register. I don't know what UPC he gave me but it rang up to 8.50 instead of 10! what a cool guy. I'll definately ask him if I ever have any questions! So today If I had paid full price I would have spent $230 but only spent 13.50! Sorry guys I can't find my reciept but I don't think they are the right UPC's anyway. What a great day! -

I am lovin the Target today! Went in to avoid the crazy traffic after work (that's my story and I am sticking to it if my husband asks!) and got some stuff that I had been keeping my eye on; 2 sets of wine goblets that are mouthblown from poland (set of 4) reg price 39.99 got them for 9.98, 3 sets of matching stemless wine goblets (set of 4) reg price 29.99 got them for 7.48. These used to be in the "pricey wine glass section" and I used to look at them everytime I went in there. I forgot about them and there they were today calling my name! And of course everyone needs a wine chiller to go with that right? I got the 8 bottle emerson in red for 19.98! My V-day shopping is over. Funny story about the wine chiller, I guess that someone else was looking for the same thing, and he and I were in the same area going to the chiller aisle (well, I was looking for the clearance endcap!) and he was loudly talking on his phone about the chiller that "was his." He came behind me and about ran me over without so much as an "excuse me". The front of his cart actually made contact with me and I had to jump out of his way. Little did he know that it was on the endcap and not in the aisle. I put the chiller in my cart and went by him. I asked the team member in the aisle what the original price was, as there was no sticker. She told me and then said "wow, 19.98! you got quite a deal, and that was the last one!". Man was he POd but I felt great! Maybe he won't be such a jerk to others in the store. I ALMOST feel bad about me doing that, but not really. Got a bunch of the 50% off dollar spot stuff. Also got a Sonia Kashuk traveling case at 50% off, which was too expensive for me usually (19.99 reg 9.98 sale) but I had been looking at it for a while. I do travel a lot so I know it's money not wasted. Tons o' cosmetics 30-50% off too if anyone is looking for any. -
you wrote; "I have other items I would like returned or exchanged, but the way Amazon has it's policy, I might as well throw the toys in the trash file a complaint with the BBB, and start shopping else where. Like I said before we love Amazon, but these policies will turn us and others away." I am sorry for everything that's going on, but you didn't really list the other toys that you had defective or wanted to exchange. I can't help but think that the CS rep thought that it was a general complaint about the toys that you have recieved, excepting the Nerf football. They probably would have let you return everything if you had been more explicit. Trust me I am a retail manager and I wouldn't have done more than the CS rep did, not to tick you off, but because really you didn't ask for anything more. When you say the word "but" after "I would really like to return..etc. it kind of negates what you are trying to say, and CS is going to view it as something that possibly occured, but they may even view it as an angry customer just venting. They have no basis to back this up, no item number or purchase info. The CS even said she was sorry she didn't know if you wanted a replacement or a refund, so I think she was doing her best to interpret what you were saying. Why not call them and explained what happened to everything you aren't happy with? If they did it for one item, they have the power to do it for more, as long as they can verify that the purchase happened.

New thread already? Wow! Today I got a black and stainless look KitchenAid spice rack for 24.99 half off the full price. THEN I saw a matching KitchenAid knife set that wasn't scanning. I got to the register, and the cashier said is 19.99 ok? I know these sets usually go for much more than that (99 I think!) so I was happy. The cashier said that I was lucky, tomorrow it was probably going to salvage. My kitchen is being taken over by KitchenAid!!! I also got a 60$ dart board for 14.49. My favorite deal was the $15 XBOX 360 game I got- Tony Hawk's Proving Ground limited edition! When I went to my other target, they were still sitting in the case with the 49.99 sticker! Also got a grill cover for 12.99, 50% of full price- my husband set the last one on fire. This one is flame retardant:D Also got lots of bulk stuff, not a *huge* discount, but I am trying to take my lunch to work from now on, so anything is cheaper than eating out! All kinds of candles around $1-2 dollars (some are BIG) and a whole bunch of cleaning stuff. I did see the game tables there and the armoires, people were fighting over them. A good day all in all. I think it's because I haven't gone in a couple of weeks- I am trying not to go so much. -
My A&P has them, but they are so small I'd need bunches of them to hold all the groceries I buy. Hey BellsandBabies! I moved to NJ from Myrtle Beach. I have very good friends that live in Dillon, SC!

I go to yard sales and flea markets a lot. My husband has a hard time with that because he has a stigma about used stuff. I usually just hide the stuff until it resurfaces. I tell him "we always had that!" He thinks I am just crazy concerning the clearance shopping though... I bet that snooty woman and her husband have serious credit card debt! Her poor husband... -

Gottadealers; Please call your store with questions regarding returns. I just got off the phone with the manager at my location, and she said as long as you have your reciept, you will be refunded the money you paid, regardless of the clearance price it's at now. Holiday or regular clearance. My target guest services people were extremely nice and this is why I shop there! I guess it depends on the store you go to. -

Just got back from my target. They must have been 90% off for a while so there was maybe 1/2 an aisle left. BUT- There was a beautiful Smith and Hawken eucalyptus and pinecone wreath sitting there amongst the broken stuff. got it for 4.99! When I was in line, another cashier came over and said "This was over there?". She was suprised, and a little mad I think. I think it was a customer return that someone had just put back there. There was so much clearance, they made extra endcaps to cram the stuff on. I got the 1000 thread count sheets for 9.99 at 75% off, and a bunch of Kitchen aid stuff (carving knives, etc)was 50-75% off. The Glade air affects spray cans, and Febreeze special edition was 50% off. Made out pretty well. Toys only 30% off though. -
Wow the LL Bean ones look great. I also love the women's ice skates!

help with cell phone carriers
alexac replied to naillady4jm's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I have Cingular (at&t now) and they are wonderful for me. I had Verizon, HORRIBLE customer service, always getting charged overages. I have never been charged a single overage with Cingular. I actually paid $$ to get out of my contract with Verizon and it was the best thing I ever did with my cell services. The person that I cancelled with over the phone told me that they didn't really care where I went when I asked them about keeping their customers. I cancelled my Verizon land line that day too. They get no money from me. -
Hi All, What's the cheapest price that you have seen for Yak Trax? Pro or Walker, I could use both. Yak Trax website is $29.99 for Pro, Amazon.com is $24.99. Has anyone seen any for less? Also, if you have some do you like them? TY!!
