  1. In case anyone was still looking for the Leappad bundle, both of my local stores told me to call back today because they get their shipment and I did and got one.
  2. I usually go with my best friend, who introduced me to BF. we have gone for 8 years now. One year, we brought our husbands, told them what lines to stand in at Walmart for us, checked out and said "ok,bye!" they looked at us like we were crazy! We told them to go have breakfast or something...lol we actually like going alone. We arent talking right now and just had a conversation for the first time and said we should make up since black Friday is coming up... Lol nothing bring friends closer than complaining about TRU BF hours!
  3. I have a question about the Leappad bundle that states $65 worth of stuff(mr. Pencil cartridge and 5 apps). Are those 5 factory installed apps in addition to the 4 or can you choose your apps? TIA
  4. Here in OH we have a store called Marcs that has a huge Closeouts section. I noticed a ton of Target stuff there about a year ago. Then I noticed my Targets having less clearance or salvaging at 30% sometimes. They must have signed a deal to send it to Marcs. The crappy part is most of the stuff at Marcs is marked more than I could have gotten it at target so BOTH of my fave stores are less fun to shop now.
  5. I can see where the clearance is going away slowly. Here in Ohio, we have a discount chain called Marcs. They have a closeout section thats my second favorite thing after target clearance. Well, they apparently have a contract with target now because all of targets clearance ends up at marcs a few months later for a higher price than target had it at their last clearance. Their deal is ruining my two favorite stores! Targets clearance is now almost nonexistent and Marcs prices have risen. Example- this year target had not ONE back to school backpack left at 75% off. Not possible normally but how much do you wanna bet come next July what marcs is selling?
  6. yay! I got my 32" emerson! Now theres a trick to this...I think If you search for the 32" emerson, for the longest time, walmart.com only showed the $328 one. Then finally after a few million refreshes, it popped up with a second listing for the same tv but with an added "F" to the item number. If you stay on the $328 page, my guess is it will never change. You have to find the other one with the f. HTH
  7. I used to work every black Friday in retail in the 90's and always said bf shoppers were loony... Lol now I am one. It's the Internet age. It has allowed so many things to go mainstream because the information is accessible. It has changed how we elect presidents for goodness sake! Think of BF before leaked ad scans on the Internet... Not as fun, imo! It's the actual retailers who have ruined BF for me.
  8. I feel like walmart is holding me hostage this year! Since the store will be teeming with people starting at 12, many will just hang around for the 5am doorbusters since they're already there, which means I have to get there that early too if I want a 5am doorbuster(3 tvs-yikes). Gone are the days of me getting to walmart at 2 and always getting what I want They are smart though...holding us hostage keeps us from spending our money elsewhere. By the time I leave walmart, i wont have a snowballs chance of getting a doorbuster at target.
  9. I think alot of stores do this. Toys r us has a toy in their ad as a 5am doorbuster at 75% off $40 to make it $10 and their website has it for $20 regular price. 50% would have been good enough. I don't know why they had to lie.
  10. I am not a techie and even I can recognize how old some of these electronics they're offering are this year. I get the fact that you can't massively discount new stuff to be black Friday worthy but some of these old offerings are insulting. Also, shame on toys r us. Chances are if you're shopping there, you're a parent so their 10pm opening time is essentially asking parents to leave their kids on a family holiday to get good deals and in this economy, alot of parents need to take advantage of these deals to afford presents. SHAME Toysrus!!!
  11. Thanks Brad... I think the ad is good enough to go to Target for. It isn't a huge hot toy sale though and that's what so many people look for. I always want an electric toothbrush but am too cheap to spend $70-$100. They have the oral-b for $35 and my mailed coupons had a $10 off coupon in it today. $25 is a price I can live with! Amazons reviews are good for it too. Here's what kills me...i am an avid BF shopper for years, always seeing super hot toy deals. Last year, I had my first child and all the deals are for older kids...This year, she is 2 and so far NOTHING again! Murphy's Law, I suppose. PS these stores new hours are ruining my schedule! We always hit walmart, then Kohls, then target! Now that target is opening at 4, my dreams of a cheap electric toothbrush are drifting away...(dramatic enough?)
  12. warm weather If i knew i didnt have to battle freezing rain and such, i would go out sooner.
  13. one word of advice- try to steer clear of the $2 dvd aisle! people sell their firstborn for cheap dvds at bf wm.
  14. dad2trips, out of curiosity, what are getting at BB? have fun! at least you have relatively good weather for cleve...the year we camped out(thurs at 9pm) it was frigid and snowing.
  15. I went 6 months pregnant last year and USED the hell out of my big belly at Walmart. I put my hand on my belly and did the quiet" excuse me" over and over, and people parted like the red sea for me...It was awesome! My best friend and BF buddy went one year a day after giving birth.
  16. ty for all the info. I am confused about these as well...Which kind would I need if my purpose of purchasing one is to store photos and video on it without risk of them ever getting wiped out. I planned on putting the drive in our firesafe box when not adding to it. Will one of these serve that purpose? Before you mention flash drives, I have a crapload and am trying to get organized. The cost is adding up too. We already have over 2000 pics of my 9 month old and I am not getting less obnoxious with the camera but more...lol
  17. Am I missing something? Wouldnt they consider a 50' plasma for $598 more high ticket than a kodak camera? I do not see it listed on any of my stores maps. Am I the only one who finds this omission strange?
  18. thanks guys. i do intend to go to kohls for their toys. The extra 30% right now is only for kohls card users though, right? I do not have one. So i would just get the sale price, nothing extra.
  19. It figures! All these years, I watched the amazing toy deals when I had no children. Now I have a 9 month old and was so hoping for alot of great deals on Fisher Price and Playskool toys(theyre so expensive!). I have been waiting for this ad and it has like 3 things for babies! How disappointing! I have already bought her a few things that were better deals than anything I have seen for BF. And Murphys law is NEXT year when shes almost 2, all the BF deals will be baby toys...lol
  20. If there is someone still out there, would you mind PM-ing me the link. TIA
  21. So, when you get a ticket, the ticket is for a particular item? For example, if we want the laptop and the desktop, we tell the person coming down the line that we want those two tickets and they basically hold them for us and we can leave and come back? Am I getting that right? I have BF shopped these last 2 years but never waited in any sort of line. TIA
