Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2012
fabnsab replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I agree. Target clearance has changed. My stores salvage a lot quicker now. We have a regional discount store(Marc's) that buys target clearance for their closeout section. It is like a mini target in there now. I got Missoni towels for $3.99 each two weeks ago. It's fun but sometimes the price at Marc's is more than it would have been at 70% at target. But the upside is that I would never have found those towels at target. Seeing as the Missoni stuff sold out so quickly here, I'm wondering if they found them in the warehouse somewhere. -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2012

Ugh, so the cashier didn't give me my Minnie Mouse purse set. I called and they said it wasn't anywhere to be found. Of course I wont find another back in toys since it is picked over. Now in order to even get my money back, they want me to come in with my receipt while the security guy is there so he can comb over security footage to see what happened with it THEN give me my money back! The trouble is not worth the $3 but it's the principle! And thanks goodness I didn't tell my daughter about it when I picked her up from preschool! What a bummer. Guess I didn't need the matching shoes I was hunting for! -

70% off here in cleveland oh. It amazes me how many boy toys there are since I had a girl. It was like that during the summer toy markdown too. I did manage to get the Minnie Mouse purse and glasses. Was hoping to find the shoes but no luck. I found the Bicycle card sets someone posted were ringing .49. The store had 8 of them but scanned as unavailable. I never ask because I get too annoyed when(and I do mean when) they say no. Now I am waiting for the inflatable beds to go 70%. -
I want to add my thank you! This site is just as much a part of my black Friday fun as the actual day!

JCPenney says not opening earlier for Black Friday hurt November sales
fabnsab replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2011
Here's what'll happen next year- there will be a competition on who will open earliest on Thursday to get the first of our money. Those who opened earliest won this year so there will be no holdouts now. After next year I predict black friday will not exist anymore. It'll be black Thursday. And in 50 yrs we won't even call it thanksgiving anymore! -
There is ALWAYS a choice. I stayed home last year because I didn't have someone to watch my child. We are so wrapped up in giving our kids every single thing they ask for, imo. My mom raised 4 girls alone working as a waitress. I rarely got what was on my Xmas list since she focused on what she could afford. I never complained or even thought of my list on Xmas morning. I was just thrilled to be playing with what I DID get. I think if these kids could choose they'd rather not be dropped on a Walmart floor or hit with shopping carts and be home than have a particular toy they merely requested on a list. A letter to Santa is not a binding contract. They'll survive if they don't get THE toy- and they'll survive bodily harm!

Wow! Just received my 24" dynex an wireless printer I ordered from best buy on thanksgiving morning! That was super fast! I do think I am going to do more online shopping next year. The bad stories are starting to disgust me.

I wouldn't bring my almost 3 yr old out BF shopping if they promised me $1,000,000! There were so many kids this year. The babies and toddlers outside in the cold always bothers me but after seeing a 5 yr old girl get hit with carts about 4 different times I decided its that age that bothers me the most. At least toddlers and babies have some protection in the cart. I feel for those who have no babysitters. I am one of those people. But I would choose to stay home if I didn't have a backup plan. The news stories prove that BF shopping can be violent. This is the same reason so many parent won't take small children to nfl games. If there's a 1% chance of something dangerous happening, small kids should stay home. Tell me you need to camp out for an organ transplant or something then ok, but not for a $2 dvd.

I ended up at 2 walmarts. One at 9:05- only to walk out when we realized ALL door busters were given out early including midnight ones... But before we left I witnessed a little girl get hit continuously with carts while her mother left her to look for a cart. And people knew what they were doing when they hit her because they literally cussed her mother out for bringing her. I felt horrible for the child. There were so many children! The earlier time factored in im sure Second Walmart was much more civilized in general but a man hit a woman for accidentally bumping him with her cart. Police took him away. I just don't get why it only seems to happen at walmarts. Maybe these stories are the reason targets ad is never so impressive as to bring out the crazy crowds.

Gosh, after reading all the news stories Nd reports here, why does it seem like the violent incidents only happen at Walmart? You'd think best buy would have problems considering the amount of dedication the campers have yet they always seem to be civilized? What is it about a cheap towel that sheds that makes people lose their crap!?

Official Black Friday Line Reports - Post Your Reports!
fabnsab replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2011
We walked into Walmart at 9:05 only to be met with everyone already in line, with carts filled with 10pm door busters AND midnight electronic door busters!! Every cardboard pallet was empty. The staff just stood there waiting for 10 to start checking people out. no control We were actually pissed that this happened. We walked out, drove to another Walmart which was busy but not one pallet was disturbed. We got what we wanted but didn't get checked out till around 1am. Oh yeah and some guy actually hit a woman who bumped him with her cart Then onto kohls where the line was 2 hours long to check out but they were giving golden tickets to whoever applied for a credit card. You got to get checked out immediately, even if it was declined. Needless to say we signed up! Up all yesterday night waiting for online bb and now I am walking in the door tonight at 4:30...and I'm already looking forward to next year! Lol even though it was crazier than ever this yr -
I also received my shipping notice for my 24" dynex. After reading here, I waited all day for the "back order" email. I am pleased for me but sad for the rest of you.

Whoever said that "coming soon" is better than "sold out" hour ago couldn't have been more right! I'm so sorry for those who missed it. Check again periodically throughout the day. They may replenish. The $25 wireless HP printer is live now too. It wasn't live when the tv was.
-
Goodnight everyone! Thanks for the laughs and company. Happy Black Friday shopping!! Oh yeah... Happy Thanksgiving too! Lol
-
Good luck, everyone! And of course I can go to sleep now but I just put in my damn cheesy potatoes that take 45 minutes!! Lol never happy!
-
Dynex 24" went live and I got one! Yay!
-
We are going to start seeing the cheery well-rested "good morning! Is the sale live yet?" posts soon... Lol
-
Here's the thing... BB doesn't owe us these deals at a certain time. Of course we can expect them based on past patterns but they aren't going back on a published time. that being said, I will still irrationally hate them if I do not get my items after 6+hours!! Lol
-
Well, I finally braved leaving my seat... Lol I had to finish my cheesy potatoes so I brought the laptop with me. I am now comfy in the recliner and have a pumpkin bucket full of Halloween candy next to me... I'm all good! Now these darn early risers better not beat me to this sale! I'm apparently having entitlement issues.
-
The worst part is... They basically just confirmed that it'll be no time soon yet I sit here refreshing like an idiot. Murphy's law says the minute i take my eyes off of it, the sale will go live!
-
Goodnight!
-
Omg me neither! I need to stretch! At this point, it's a matter of pride! If I go to bed now and miss it, these last 5 hours will be for naught!
-
I am thankful for all of you keeping me company on this crazy night!
-
Ugh soon enough we will all be competing with the early risers!

Heads up to anyone who bought a Leappad for their kid... Today's paper has a glossy Duracell insert with a $4 off Leapfrog Explorer game coupon. They're at target on BF for $14.99 so great deal. Wish I could snag more coupons!
