Kim, I think it would be perfect for an 11 year old. :) I was worried that the quality of the picture on the actual Photokinz would be bad or hard to see because the screen is small. It was actually very good. The whole process was very simple too. Basically you plug in the cable that comes with the Photokinz, the software is automatically loaded your computer and you pick the pictures you want to upload to the Photokinz. It takes two AA batteries. I did find some on Amazon that were not very badly priced. If you search Photokinz, it will bring up ones that are around $25.00. However, if you click on the link that says New/Used from $xx.xx, there are some that are around $8.xx-$14.xx plus shipping. It's from an Amazon vendor; not Amazon so you don't get the free shipping. I think they are worth it. Patty, thanks for the help. :) You always know where to find stuff.

I bought a couple of these when Target had them at 75% off a couple/few months ago. I just got around to uploading pictures to one of the ones I bought and of course fell in love with it. Now I want at least one more. I'm not really picky about the animal; just would like to have at least another one. If anyone has seen these at great prices, please let me know. TIA.

Target has some decent ones for less than $200.00.

I agree with the other posts. I would be offended too had I been the OP. Actually I have a pet peeve that if someone posts a deal and another person doesn't think it's a good deal then move on instead of throwing negativity onto the thread. There is enough negativity surrounding individuals without perpetuating it in something like this. You being a CS major has no bearing on whether or not this may be good for some and not for others. This is the same as people arguing if MAC or MS is better. To some degree it comes down to personal preference. For an average user, this may be fine; maybe even a starter laptop. If you feel the need to discuss the pros and cons to this deal or any other then start a thread in the deal discussion section. If you feel that you need to post a great deal on a similar item then don't threadjack and start your own thread. And most definitely do not post an EBAY auction. I believe that is against TOS.

Thanks for the information Mayhar. Regardless, thanks to the OP for her find. Even though it may be a deal someone doesn't care for, there may be others who do want it.

I've used CheckGallery.com and have been very happy. They usually have some sort of deal on their web-site.

I've had the same experience. I wasn't able to use the code online but took the coupon into the store and they gave me the 20% off. I was also able to use it at the Outlet store. I saved $50 on that trip.
