  1. One thing I can recommend is signing up at Hasbrotoyshop.com. I bought S'mores and Butterscotch directly. They had a BF deal and I purchased them that way. I paid $225 for each pony and got free shipping. I stayed up late Thankgiving night and placed my order shortly after midnight on BF. HTH
  2. Smores is a member of the family. It really is a cool toy. You all are talking me into buying Biscuit more than NOT buying it. lol
  3. I have the day off. I also get the last two weeks of the year off. I do have to take PTO or flex my time to hit the Target toy clearance sale in early January. It is SO worth it!
  4. My daughter received S'mores (Butterscotch's friend) and my Goddaughter received Butterscotch. They LOVE them! They may not play with them every day but they are definitely a part of the respective families. I made up my mine to get them when I realized this is something they can enjoy their entire childhood. It didn't seem like too much of an investment that way. Hasbro has also come out with a dog that looks really cool but that is around $180.00. I'm thinking very hard on that one. I'm hoping I can find a good deal on it. I should add that I have no regrets buying the two ponies. They are worth every penny.
  5. Thanks for the post! This is a great addition to my Calphalon collection.
  6. I know some great deals have been recently posted in the online deals thread. HTH
  7. I liked the price guarantee but even if Amazon does take it away, it hasn't changed my mind to shop with them. I think they are extremely competitive and with having PRIME, I really don't think they can be beat.
  8. I thought Amazon only returned for defects or only paid shipping if the item was defective. It's people like in the PP that cause companies to quit offering PA's or easy returns, etc.
  9. It's not hard to get used to keeping receipts. I used to never keep my receipts but now I do. I have envelopes set up for the places I shop the most and then a misc. envelope. It saves a lot of hassle when I need to return something. I agree that no store should have to take back something without a receipt or suitable proof of purchase (I LOVE it when they can look up my purchases). Just because someone may have an honest without receipt return; there are many who abuse the system and have made it difficult for all.
  10. You will want to avoid putting pots and pans in the dishwasher. This is what helps to mess up the finish on them.
  11. I just checked the prices of skull candy ear buds on Amazon. They are comparibly priced. However, for a little one I wouldn't like them because of the skull on them.
  12. Kohl's, Target, Toys R Us and Ace as of now. Silly me! I just realized the question was what CITY. I'll be in Tucson.
  13. I'm guessing it's going to be less because of the financial crisis the country is in. Also because Wal-Mart's strategy backfired on them. Their BF results were proof positive they were unsuccessful. I never shop Wal-Mart for BF anyway. I stay out of there as much as I can anytime throughout the year.
  14. Last year it was only with my DD for Kohl's and then met up with a friend of mine at Target. She did the Toys R Us run while I did the Kohl's run. This year I plan on having someone stand in line for me at Kohl's while I do my shopping. The shopping part didn't take long...it was the paying part that took forever. It would be fun to go with some of the people on here if we lived closer geographically.
  15. I don't wait in line in the morning but last year I waited for around 2 hours to check out at Kohl's. I'll be bringing a portable DVD player for us to pass the time.
  16. I have the JVC marshmallow ones for me and I love them but they were too big for my DD.
  17. I'm not sure why I have to justify taking my DD shopping with me on BF. Part of it is that I am a single mom and she goes EVERYWHERE with me if I am not working. I don't feel I HAVE to go shopping either but it's something I enjoy since my mom and I used to do it when she was still alive. Now I'm passing that tradition on to my daughter. We do not go out early. We sleep in and go when we wake up. When she was an infant/toddler, I didn't go for obvious reasons. It's not a matter of 'needing' to save money as I make an extremely good salary and get an obscene amount of child support. However, as I would imagine like the rest of us on here, I enjoy looking for the best deal possible and enjoy the 'hunt'. I pretty much have all of my shopping done for my daughter, Goddaughter, great-nieces and niece. I only have to buy my DD's "Santa" gift and then for the adults for which I buy. I have a very extensive shopping list. And please rest assured that I do more than my share of shopping on Amazon, other places online and throughout the year. I guess if someone knocked off my head but ESPECIALLY my daughter's theirs would be laying on the floor too.
  18. Personally, I have never seen anyone get as crazy as the scenes you are describing and I would certainly walk the other way if I did. I would tend to disagree with you as I have had many a pleasant experience on BF where people help each other, hold places in lines for potty breaks, etc. Maybe those of us in AZ are just less intense people than in other places.
  19. I do this all the time for my DD. To me, it's just common sense.
  20. I'm one of those people who would take my daughter in a stroller. Now she'll be in a shopping cart. Of course my feeling is it's not my fault if I don't see someone cut in front of me and they get the stroller wheel on their heel.
