My coworker said she saw on another site saying Walmat sent out somewhat of a C&D letter. It had no date of when it would allowed to be posted like other years AND it said something about a "Sunday after Thanksgiving" sale Weird.

I totally agree ! Nothing like cuddling up with my rugrats with a big blanket & hot cocoa watching the holiday movies :) I also agree with pp that the schedule is a bit disappointing. This is every year for me tho. I expect to see a little more holiday movies, but I guess its just a teaser for the 25 Days of Christmas.

Half Price Books - October 17

Just like TRU's book, this book is usually in the Sunday's paper. So, both books should be in the October 30 Sunday paper.

This def means Toys R Us' big toy book is coming out October 30! I just hope there's some GREAT savings in both books!

That's how WalMart is, they just don't close on Thanksgiving day. I am sorry, I HAVE to spend time with my family FIRST before I do any shopping ! Its not like its used to be, which is upsetting.

I'm thinking it will start on October 30 too. If it doesn't start until November 6, that's only less than 3 weeks for the sales. It has come out in the past on/around Halloween....I hope I get one in the mail this year ...& I agree, in the next couple of weeks, it should be leaked !!

I was thinking the same thing. I live in an apt and its set up kind of crazy. There's 2 bedrooms downstairs and I upstairs (nothing else up there but the room). Well, I initially took the upstairs room which has a walk-in closet, so I would do the black trash big thing & just stick them in there andputthem out Christmas eve. My girls never knew. Well, I've since swithced rooms with my dd9 bcuz I just can't sleep upstairs while my children are downstairs. So dd is now upstairs with the big walk in closet and I don't trust her not to try and peek if the bags are in her closet even tho the gifts are wrapped. I was thinking of putting them in my shed which is right outside my front door, but I'm kind of skeptical about that. Maybe, I'll hide them in my brother's house in his spare room.

I see they made a few changes (most likely bcuz of Walmart lol). I'm not sure if I will use their layaway. If I do, it will be a small purchase compared to the one I do at Walmart. BTW, thanks for the info ! :)

imo, I think if you wait for the Big Book, you'll be able to get it for at least $15, if not $20 off. If my memory serves me right, I believe they had it in the book last year for about $20 off.

I don't go after big ticket items that are typically in the 5am sale, so...(don't shoot me), but I liked the idea. We have 2 WalMarts in my area and its usually pretty good. No one gets out of control, we do have cops inside (around the entrance area) and outside, so that helps. But, I went in around 10, 10:30, got what I wanted and waited in a line until 12am to check out. I was able to go home, get a couple hours of sleep, then hit the stores that typically open @ 5. From reading all you guys' posts, tho, I do see how it could suck/be a little unfair for ppl who come in later. I do hope they do it that way again tho.

Its actually Oct 23 & 24, they're doing a weekend thing. They do have christmas shows sprinkled throughout too, now that we're only a couple of months from christmas.

Yes. We hava a "Walmart Christmas Layway" thread. Sears and Kmart has been had layaway, tho. Im curious to see who else is doing it. I dont shop at BB, but Im surprised their doing it.
