  1. It seems to have mixed reviews. Some people raved about it and others thought it was crap . I bought a tiny led flashlight last year on lightning deals. My son loves it, it is very bright.
  2. I don't mind them putting up the msrp instead of the price they sell it for, but can't stand when they make up a price. I was looking at a flashlight today, msrp was 121 and their price was 29. Lightning deal was 11 and they said it was 90% off. I went to gerber and looked at it on there. Gerber lists it for 69.99 so they almost doubled the msrp. Very misleading. I was told if a 3rd party merchant sells it for that, amazon uses their price.
  3. Although I copied this from a rental years ago, I just had to have it again to own the colorized version. I bought the 2 disc special edition after reading a review that says it has the same redone black and white version that's in teh 60th anniversary edition plus the color version also.
  4. They had a whole shopping cart left in ours also.
  5. It's listed for 8.99 for the regular dvd or the 2 discs special edition. BLuray is 12.99. Today only I think.
  6. Earlier today amazon had one on their lightning deals with an extra 100 gift card. It's gone now. Just keep looking at he ads.
  7. I haven't started yet. In about 2 weeks after my son's birthday I will start wrapping. I wrap about 75-100 presents, it takes me a long time. This year isn't as bad, my oldest aren't getting as many presents as their younger brother since they are grown and wanted expensive stuff. I buy my paper after christmas usually at shopko and get it pretty cheap. . I used 10 rolls last year.
  8. True. My son has had his own laptop since he bought it when he was 11. He hardly ever touches it. He's on my desktop most of the time since it's easier to use. He watches movies on the tiny psp screen, and since we have a subscription to netflix, i thought the fire would be great for him.
  9. They are 2 different devices. The HP Touchpad is a tablet, not an ereader. YOu would have to put an ereader app on it. THe kindle fire is more similar to the hp touchpad. I bought the fire , but for 149, the touchpad would be a great deal. The only downside is that it was discontinued and they are no longer making tablets. It has a different operating system and there aren't as many apps for it.
  10. 5 and 7 year old both getting monster high dolls, monster high camcorder, monster high clothes. THey are my grandkkids, but their dad is buying it all too. THey also want jewelry and the youngest wants a diary with a lock like I bought her sister last year.
  11. CAlling it a kindle is misleading. It is a tablet. It has a reading app on it, but it is not strictly an ereader. You buy apps, download music, stream movies, etc with it. It is more comparable according to amazon forums to an IPOD TOUCH, only larger. It is not like an IPAD, it is a media use device. I bought my son one, he was very excited to get it. GO to the product pages and read about the various kindles to know which one you want.
  12. You can't convert any book that is drm protected. Any book bought from amazon, sony, barnes and noble, borders, etc are drm protected. The only ones that aren't are either pirated copies or free ones anyway. There is a new plug in for calibre that strips the drm, but calibre doesn't endorse it since it isn't legal.
  13. There is no comparison. Kindle is far better than the nook. The customer service alone is worth it. If your kindle has a problem or even if you accidently break it, they will overnight you a new one and give you 30 days to return the bad one. No one else does this. Nook forums have nothing but complaints about the service of barnes and noble. Amazon forums has a freebie thread. I watch it every day. I have hundreds of books that cost nothing. You can now subscribe to special offers on the kindle, or opt out if you don't want them. SOme people have saved hundreds of dollars from those specials alone. If you are traveling you would need a 3g model in case you aren't near wifi. THere are a lot of deals on the kindle keyboard right now and it is rumoured they are discontinuing it . THe kindle touch is getting rave reviews . I love mine, Can't live without it.
  14. I preordered mine on amazon 2 months ago and paid weekly on it. They sold out of their preorders the day after I ordered mine. My son didn't want me to take a chance at walmart and I'm glad I didn't because I didni't see any there either. I don't see any online even now.
  15. We got the sunday sale ad in the saturday paper. Called the local walmart to see if they had the Sony 40 inch lcd tv bundle for 548. They had 2 but wouldn't sell them till Sunday. I went online and it was up on there already , so showed my mom how to make her first online purchase. Free ship to home.
  16. Yes, but if you send an item back because of a price difference, they deduct the return shipping from your refund, so they win either way.
  17. I have always taken my kids with me. My mom is my only sitter and she goes with me. My kids are older now, but this yeasr my 14 son stayed home for the first time. I have never had a problem, but I don't do the all night thing. We go to a college town 25 miles away and the crowds aren't bad. My kids always saved their money so they could get good deals too.
  18. yes, they have special pricing for amazon and ebay purchases. I have bought 3 square trade warranties but I always do it from the website, I bought a samsung tv, a kindle, and a portable dvd player. They are not affiliated with amazon , they just have contracts for special pricing on items they sell.
  19. Me either, I went to the atv cab to look at it and the black friday box said to click there for the schedule. I was ecstatic. My husband is done now.
  20. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_358997262_3?ie=UTF8&docId=1000693481&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=hero-quick-promo&pf_rd_r=0YQN6W0J941M0PVS1RJA&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=1334685322 I found this link for now through next week while looking at an atv cab up in a few minutes. It has a lot of items
  21. I received a 35% off code in an email yesterday. but it says its for exclusive VIP customers only. Do a google search for one. I've never paid more than 40% off for one. I always get the 3 year and add accident coverage. If they don't have repair centers like the kindle, they send you a check to buy a new one. Much better than getting refurbished from the manufacturer.
  22. I know what you mean. My husband works construction and tore his in two places last spring. THought it was a heart attack. BY the time the mri located the tears, it was healing. Now the other one is the same way.
  23. I live in a town of 3000 and our nearest walmart is 10 miles away in a town of 5000. They called in police from 3 surrounding towns due to fighting over towels. I don't see cheap walmart towels being worth fighting over.
  24. Not for a good one. My dad paid 500 on an old one, but it is probably in the thousand range new. If you split a lot, which they do since they burn wood, cheaper isn't worth it.
  25. I always order mine from square trade. I don't trust walmart. If you file a claim on homeowners you are subject to your deductible and most deductibles are fairly high. Mine is 1000
