Giveaway: Win 1 of 10 Black Friday T-Shirts! [Winners Posted]
wittenlover replied to Brad's topic in 2015
Loving the thought of a super hero themed shirt. In playing off of what princesschaos13 was thinking, I started working on other phrases... "Gottadeal.com - Saving people's money since 2004" "Superhero? Nah... I just leap for doorbusters!" (on back of shirt) I'll keep thinking... lol -
YES! Guess they're going back on my list this year. lol
-
A couple decent things there for me to sneak in and take a look at when the rest of the shopping's done.
-
Won my first one last year, have one of this year's ordered, so then I'll have 2.

I've heard that Beats last a long time but lack in sound quality unless all you're into is music with heavy bass. However, I have no personal experience with them, as I prefer "in the ear" style. Teens seem to love Beats, though, so yeah, Illinoismom is right - watch the office supply store ads, of all things, for great deals on them.

How much stuff do you buy for yourself during Black Friday

Never know when Pogi might need an elf. If you're up for being on call, let her know. ;-) Usually, we don't need elves but every once in a while someone has to bow out for one reason or another. -
Interesting seeing Meijer mark down the Tidy Cats scoopable litter to basically match what PetSmart has sold it for on BF the last few years. Color me interested, seeing as my furbabies are always "full of it". Ha. They have their baking supply sale on Saturday (as usual) that I'll be taking advantage of. Helps me do all my holiday baking a little cheaper. (And believe me, I do a TON!) There are a few other things I might get, but waiting on some other ads to do some price comparisons before I finalize my BF lists.

I have no one to take with me, so I go it alone. I did help my dad get a TV he wanted from Walmart last year, though. I grabbed what I needed (Pyrex, mainly), then went and found the line for the TV he wanted. Since I had only needed to grab a couple of things that were in the 6 p.m. start and his TV was in the 8 p.m. start, I was actually first in line. He was thrilled to know he was going to get the TV. He drove up to join me once I was in the checkout line with the tag for his TV. It worked out really well for him and, as a show of gratitude, he bought my stuff (all of about $30 worth) for me! (Totally unexpected bonus!) Gave me a bit of extra budget to use on other things. Awesome. But yeah... I'm a loner usually - just because everybody else thinks I'm nuts. lol

Not sure yet - will be in MI either way, but will either be in Ann Arbor area or up in Saginaw. Depends on my dad's work schedule (if he's working that weekend, I'll be in AA. If not, I'll be venturing out to Saginaw from his place in Tawas). Will add my location to the map once I know! :-)

Does buying my cats a new cat tree count as something for me? lol Usually some of the best prices I get all year on cat furniture, cat litter, stuff like that. I have a VERY small family and neither my brother nor I have kids, so I don't have many folks to buy for, seeing as I make baked goodies, fudge, etc for most of my friends. (Because that's what they want! Really!) I do keep my eye open for small/special things for certain folks. The past two years, I've done the Secret Santa exchange here (it's been a ton of fun) just to actually give me someone else to buy for but forgot to sign up in time this year. I do a lot of the shopping for that on BF. -
Just ordered mine! Looks great!
-
Been so swamped I completely forgot to sign up this year! DOH!!!! No worries, pogiporkchop - I'm not asking to be added late. :-) Just know I will happily don elf ears wherever needed if necessary.
-
Happy New Year, y'all! Less than 11 months till Black Friday!!! lol

I was excited to send a dear friend a big box of goodies and it was my hit of the season. He knew he'd be getting some cookies but he had no idea exactly what I was shipping until he got it. Needless to say, he was absolutely thrilled when he opened his box and found not just cookies, but LOTS of cookies, homemade fudge (2 kinds), a custom metal Ford logo key rack (his favorite manufacturer), a gift card to one of his favorite restaurants, and a special Christmas card. I could see and feel his mile-wide grin in his words. He's had a rough year, so I'm glad I brightened it a little.

I opened my box this morning! Many thanks to my SS! In my box, I found a Hershey's Candy Cane bar (yummy! One of my Christmas favorites!), a box of Andes mints (yay!!!), some Swiss Miss hot cocoa mix (gonna save this for when it gets really cold), three whisks (yay!!! I needed some new ones!), and a whole candy cane full of great toys for my kitty babies. So fun! As always, many thanks to chief elf for organizing another great set of exchanges this year! Merry Christmas, everyone!
-
Ha! Not quite yet! Hauled the box to my dad's place. Will open it in the morning when I give him his gift!
-
Still staring at my box... Just a few more days till I open it! Living by myself means this is the only present under my tree.
-
I can't wait for a dear friend of mine to open his Christmas box (that should be delivered to him today). He knows he's getting cookies, I'm sure he's assuming there will be a card, but what he doesn't know is just how many cookies he's getting (a whole bunch more than he's expecting, guaranteed) and that there are a couple of gifts hidden in the box with them. I got him a gift card to his favorite restaurant and a metal key rack (5 hooks) with the Ford logo (his favorite car brand) cut into it. I'm excited because he's been through a lot this year and this will be an unexpected joy for him. Just wish I could be there when he opens it... Instead, I'll be waiting for the geeked-out phone call I'm sure to get when he finds what all I packed for him. lol

One more batch of chocolate chip cookies to bake and a couple gift cards to pick up, then I am DONE!
-
I received a box a couple days ago - finally got to pick it up from my apartment office today. I'm assuming this is my SS box. Saving for Christmas!
-
Shipping first major batch of baked goods today. Another round to be baked, a few more small gifts to pick up. I'd say I'm about 80% done.
-
Wow Kash... You've been through it this season, it sounds like. Hope both you and your daughter come through your surgeries well and heal up quickly! I will be praying all goes smoothly and that you are able to have a wonderful Christmas.
-
Unfortunate in one way, but fortunate that you have willing elves you could call in. The accountants will be able to have their bamboo nog back soon!
-
Slowly getting my mojo back. Baking all those cookies did help. So did a fun time at my work party. Been pumping my favorite Christmas tunes in my car since Thanksgiving afternoon and that's helping too. I've placed a stash of my spare change in the car so, if I'm going into a store with a bell-ringer out front, I'll always have a little something to drop in that kettle. revecca: You may feel like you're failing miserably right now but I'm sure your kids are appreciating (or will appreciate) the effort, even if it doesn't seem that way. Hang in there. My parents divorced when I was in college and my brother was just barely in high school. Mom tried her best to still give us a great Christmas and worried she wasn't making it, but brother and I both look back on those first few simple Christmases with fondness, as they were still filled with love.

So excited to see all the packages coming in! Such fun! Unfortunate the elves are needed this year, but it is my hope that situations will improve for those who were unable to uphold their end of things. (I prefer to hope that they had good reason but didn't communicate properly versus thinking they're dirt.) Thank you, pogiporkchop for doing a great job as host! Already looking forward to next year even though this year's not over yet! As for me - for those who caught my post about baking that monstrous pile of cookies, I am FINISHED!!! Turned my oven off at 1:45 this morning! Ha! Whew!!! It's always a labor of love and this year it was definitely a lot of LABOR!!! lol
