  1. Amazon.com: Peppermint Field Nasal Inhaler Pack of 6 : Health & Household
  2. It's been more than two months since I unpacked my $475 75" Toshiba C350 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV (75C350KU). The TV is $890 at Best Buy this week and no longer available at Amazon. I still have not seen one on display. rtings.com's reviews of this model continue to be pure speculation as they have not tested one to date. 192 Best Buy consumers rate the set at 4.7. Three 'expert reviews' on the BB site rate it at 3.0, but they are not reviewing the same television. I give it five stars. Most of the televisions in my home are 55" 4K UHD TCL Roku TVs. All of the televisions in my home have a 4K FireTV Stick in an HDMI port. Except this one. This is my first FireTV. Naturally, it has a Roku plugged into an HDMI port. It also has two TiVo Roamio OTA DVRs attached. And a PC. Inasmuch as I mostly enjoy broadcast TV, a TiVo is the most common interface on this television. I have the TV configured to power on to the 'last used' input so there is no need to navigate from the FireTV to the TiVo. When I want to watch an app on the Roku, I simply pick up the Roku remote and press a button. There is a button for Live TV on the Toshiba remote and tapping that button takes me to the FireTV Live Guide. All the remotes control power and sound on the television, so single remote operation requirement is met. I do not use any of the apps on the TiVo. At one time, a TiVo was the only device attached to my TVs. As the boxes have aged and TiVo has failed to update the apps, performance has fallen off. When I can't find something to watch on the TiVo, I switch to either the FireTV or the Roku. I use Amazon's Live TV on some televisions in my house since it integrates OTA (if you have a Recast or a Sling TV DVR) and OTT into a single guide. No need for an antenna connection at these sets, BUT, when I have an antenna connection nearby, I prefer a TiVo and a Roku. Still waiting for someone to post recommended picture settings, but I am happy with the picture quality, coloring, and scaling of this set out of the box. I'm not examining pixels with a magnifying glass and my 60 year old eyes may be less discriminating than some, but the tv looks great to me. Viewing angles are wide. The TV even handles re-scaling the Recast's 720p stream well. While sound levels vary among inputs and even some apps, I am very happy with the sound quality. I would buy this television again at $475 but given a choice between a similarly priced and spec'd TCL Roku television and this one, I would get the Roku TV. Here's why... Unique Features for Cord Cutters (I believe these are available on their Android sets as well)... PSIP Grid Style Electronic Program Guide: The TCL Roku TVs build the guide using data streamed in the RF TV signal. No need for a service or even an Internet Service Provider. Live TV Pause: When an antenna is connected to your Roku TV, you can pause and playback broadcast TV for up to 90 minutes.Unique Apps F2V TV: Free to View TV is an app that streams broadcast TV from free, legal and official online places. All streams can be found publicly, nothing unofficial or bootlegged. PlayOn/PlayLater: PlayOn Desktop is the only OTT DVR for Roku. Record from over 100 popular sites including Netflix, Hulu, HBO GO and Amazon. Cast or stream your recordings to your Roku; automatically skip the ads.Great Service When one of my TCL Roku 55" 4K UHD sets crapped out under warranty -- just under warranty -- TCL sent a guy to my home to fix the set in my living room. The fact is that I do not expect to use my C350's FireTV GUI at all once I drop Prime on the 7th. Just the same, I highly recommend this television...at $475 ;-)
  3. Interesting and unclear to me even after reading a few articles. It seems a lot of companies are buying bits and pieces of Kmart, but that Wesfarmers owns the company. It's also unclear to me if the Aussie Target and the US Target are the same company. Wesfarmers to roll out cheaper product ranges as inflationary pressures bite (smh.com.au) Mr Scott said the company planned to absorb price rises where it can, saying passing on hikes would be a “last resort”. It also plans to roll out new, cheaper product ranges, particularly for Kmart and Target, to provide a “good range of products at the value end”. His comments came after Wesfarmers said net profit had fallen 14.2 per cent to $1.21 billion in the six months to the end of December, largely due to a huge slide in profits at its Kmart, Target and Officeworks chains. Revenue overall stayed flat, slipping by just 0.1 per cent to $17.7 billion. Shares in the company slumped almost 7.5 per cent to $50.81, hitting their lowest price in over six months. Kmart and Target’s profits slumped 63.4 per cent to $178 million as both retail chains were heavily impacted by supply chain shortages and store closures during the COVID lockdowns earlier in the half. Are Target Australia And Usa Same Company? – ictsd.org Who Owns Target In Usa? Australia has 300 Targets owned by Wesfarmers Limited, which was founded in 1926 by Australian conglomerate Wesfarmers Limited. As for the Target Corporation, the company owns the stores that bears the same name in America. Is Kmart And Target Owned By The Same Company? The decision was made by Wesfarmers, which also owns Kmart and Target, as a way to improve their commercial viability. Is Kmart And Target The Same Company? Approximately 50,000 Kmart team members work at over 462 Kmart stores across Australia and New Zealand that belong to The Kmart Group. Who Currently Owns Target? Conclusion. Although Walmart has bought a number of Target stores, many of which have become walmart franchisees, Target still holds a 49% stake in the company. Target opened the first store as a discount outlet in 1962, not as a department store like Dayton’s, which it acquired in 1978. Who Owns Target Now? Walmart will no longer own Target by 2022, at the latest. Since 2000, Target Corporation has owned the company, which used to be known as Dayton-Hudson Corporation. Its primary focus remains 1900 discount and mass merchandise retail stores in all 50 states under this name (which is very popular now). states. this is? Do you know it??
  4. Kmart down to its last 4 stores in the US | Springfield Business Journal (sbj.net) With two stores slated to close, Kmart will be down to its last four locations open in the United States, according to a report by The Philadelphia Inquirer. Two are located in New Jersey, with one apiece in Long Island and Miami. At its peak, Kmart had 2,400 stores and 350,000 employees in the United States and Canada. Kmart Revenue Plummets As COVID-19 Closes Stores And Keeps Employees At Home » MWD (mwdentallab.org) Kmart Group reported revenues were down 63.4% from $478 million to $178 million, and revenues fell 9.6% to $4.9 billion. (AAP) “The combined revenue of Kmart and Target fell 55.8% during the halving to $222 million, reflecting the significant impact of the government-ordered store closures, resulting in a loss of nearly 25% of store trading days during the halving and higher returns. Reduced costs and reduced inventory availability due to domestic supply chain disruptions,” said Scott.
  5. Thank you, but there's no need to be sorry. I'm simply rethinking my retail relationships and returning to my B&M roots. People always said about Prime, "It's great that they have movies and music, but I mostly have it for the free shipping." For me, the free shipping isn't that good. Time to try something else.
  6. I don't. I think I am simply fed up with the online retailers and the warehouse stores. I don't like to have to pay for the privilege of buying from a merchant. I really do not like not getting what I am promised when I pay for the privilege of buying from a merchant. And I REALLY, REALLY don't like waiting in a chat queue to fix their screwups. If I find myself completely bored, I will break down my spending this holiday season. I big chunk went to Best Buy and a bigger chunk went to merchants I never heard of before researching a purchase. Walmart, Kohls, Staples, BB&B got nothing from me. I could have gotten 5% off my 75" TV had I bought it with my Prime card, but Paypal gave me 7% off the same price for using their Mastercard. I used to get my spices, nuts, and other cooking staples from Amazon, but now I use my OSJL Crazy Cash to buy those things.
  7. This is what my Prime Orders look like right now... ORDER PLACED February 5, 2022 Not yet shippedORDER PLACED February 5, 2022 Arriving SaturdayORDER PLACED February 4, 2022 Arriving Feb 12 - Feb 13On the way, but it's running late Chances are three of these orders will be damaged or not what I ordered. They may be left at my front door, at my back door, or at my mailbox. Monday, I had a box left at my mailbox after I went to bed. It was pouring out. The box was not in a plastic bag. When I grabbed the box, it disintegrated. I was lucky the plastic wrapper on the merchandise was not damaged otherwise, another order back to Amazon.
  8. This is my situation. Prime Days sucked this year. Over Christmas, I found better deals at Target and Best Buy than Amazon. Yes, I do tend to order single items because shipping is free, but I don't need to. I struggle to find value in Subscribe and Save. In general, Amazon has not lived up to shipping promises and a LOT of my orders have arrived damaged. While there is a lot of great programming included with Prime, I own my favorite shows, movies, and music. I'm really too lazy to look for something I want anyway. For the most part I fall asleep to the 'best available' 'by appointment' programming. Besides my antenna, the FireTV program guide includes OTT services like Plex, Sling, Pluto, Tubi, News by Fire TV, and others. There's always something on. I also have a Roku attached and the Roku TV app includes a lot of free on demand and live programming. from %5BConfirmed%5D Price for Amazon Prime Membership Will Increase To $139 (Up From $119) - Doctor Of Credit Let me know if you need help with FREE TV
  9. Thanks. Good information. I would not have renewed at $59/yr.
  10. from Amazon Prime’s price is going up to $139 per year - The Verge Amazon is raising the price of Prime in the US to $139 per year, up from the $119 annual fee that was instated four years ago. The price hike is meant to address higher costs Amazon is facing across the board, from shipping to labor to construction, according to analysts. The price change will go into effect for new members on February 18th and for current members after March 25th. The price for a monthly membership to Prime is also going up to $14.99 per month from $12.99 per month. Prime passed 200 million subscribers last year. Amazon has continued to expand the service’s offering, growing from quick shipping speeds to also include access to Prime Video, music streaming, Twitch perks, and more. Prime lost one member this year -- me. After years of student freebies and discounts, I am terminating Prime. I have not found value in Prime even at $4.92 per year. No way they retail me at $11.58/month (starting March 7). In other news... 11. WFH Excuse: Lost power/internet.
  12. Note the 'return for any reason' terms and return it at the end of the return period. Buy a new snow blower when the rest of the world is shopping for bathing suits.
  13. Bring it back. Try something else.
  14. In 2002, I bought this beast of a snow thrower -- a 9 Horsepower, Electric Start, 29-inch Dual Stage Craftsman snow blower. Twenty years (and a few parts) later, it's still going strong. But it's huge and 90% of the time, it's unnecessary. In 2018, I bought a Craftsman 88694 26" 208cc Dual-Stage Zero-Turn Snowblower. It's smaller (5 HPish), quieter, and a lot easier to use with remote chute controls and zero turn. I gottadeal. It was $700 minus $257 in Shop Your Way points. First time I changed the oil, I looked for a manual online because I thought it would be easier than sifting through my collection of manuals. Instead of finding the oil type and capacity, I found this youtube video about installing a light on the machine. So I ordered the parts. $34.78. The parts came in on the day of a big snow storm. After I cleared the driveway, I found them in my mailbox. Next morning I installed a light on my snow blower. When I finished, as I was admiring my handywork, my youngest son comes into the garage... Paul: "What are you doing?" Me: "I just installed a light on the snow blower." Paul: "Are you going to get rid of the old one?" Me: "No. It works fine." Paul: "But it doesn't have a light." Me: "I don't need a light. I've been clearing the driveway without a light for 20 years. I could clear this driveway in my sleep." Paul: "Then why did you put a light on the new snow blower?" Me: "Because I can. You'll understand when you get a little older." Hope you get your blizzard. Hope it ends in the dark. I really wonder how well that light works...
  15. I had no idea how rich you were.
  16. It depends on the reliability of your electricity source during an emergency, the amount of snow you expect to clear, and the size of the area you need to keep clear, but you probably want gas. If it's cold enough for meaningful snow, it's cold enough to impact battery performance. Unless you have a generator, you may not be able to clear your driveway during a power outage.
  17. Well, mine is
  18. He's right, of course. Do it. Your purpose in life is to make your kids' life more wonderful.
  19. Where do you live? In New Hampshire, winter begins in February. In fact, February and March are our winter. The good news is that the Global Warming crowd will be hibernating for a couple weeks as we are buried in climate.
  20. I'm on the New Hampshire seacoast, so that's about as northeast as you can get. It's been snowing here since before daylight. We probably have three inches now. It's powdery, as predicted. Just put some pork ribs in the slow cooker. My child is still in bed. Probably was a mistake to get him flannel sheets, a fleece blanket, a comforter, and a heavy comforter. May not see much of him until spring.
  21. They are predicting 20" -- I'll believe it when I see it! Just the same, snowblower is full of gas, gas in the generator, and a can full just in case we actually lose power. All the things that promise a dusting.
  22. [Despite me buying a 75" TV and two iPhone 13s] December retail sales slide 1.9% amid shortages, omicron Sales at department stores fell 7%. restaurant sales slipped 0.8% and online sales fell 8.7%.
  23. Click your avatar to get to your profile page. Click 'posts' on your profile page to see your most recent posts including the topic. You did not post in December. Happy New Year.
  24. Their exclusions are overwhelming and MVC exclusive promotions trim sales, but, yes, personalized codes were kind of the icing on the cake. A lot of people have always complained that Kohls marked stuff up before sales. I haven't seen that, but I have had sale items in my cart go off sale before codes became effective. Probably did not help that the store became political last year as well. I will never forget the year Walmart cancelled Christmas -- no decorations on the lights in the parking lot, happy holidays greetings from the employees, and a general ban on Christmas references in ads and stores. I also remember the Christmas decorations and greetings came back the next year. I suspect Kohls will be bought by Amazon (they already do returns for Amazon) once Amazon decides it needs a chain of pickup/retail locations.
