What items are you hoping for BF deals on this year?

The best remote ever is the TiVo Peanut. Damn near perfect. I have a butt load of inexpensive Phillips programmable remotes. High WAF since you can make every remote at every tv in your home work just the same. -

Canned goods actually have no practical shelf life as long as the container is not compromised, so it's always a great idea to have a well stocked pantry. I don't pay much heed (or even watch) anything coming out of the White House these days, but I have always bought 'must have' gifts early. Last year I paid retail for an Xbox Series X. I purchased my Legends Ultimate Arcade on November 7th. So shop away! Despite supply chain woes -- or maybe because of them -- I expect great discounts as people deal with soaring gas, heating oil, and food prices. So maybe leave a little spending for later. Pay attention to return windows. Within that window, you should be able to price adjust or return/rebuy. Happy shopping! -

Amazon.com: Sony ST5000 7.1.2ch 800W Dolby Atmos Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer (HT-ST5000), Surround Sound Home Theater experience Black : Everything Else Any sound bar dramatically improves TV audio, good ones are extremely impressive, and great ones will give you goosebumps. Give your loved one goosebumps for Christmas! The HT-ST5000 is the 2nd most expensive sound bar on our list, and it represents Sony’s best. It also addresses the question, “just how close can we come to authentic 5.1.2 cinematic surround sound in a sound bar?” with a definitive “pretty damn close.” To start, the HT-ST5000 comes with Dolby Atmos, which, as described above, doubles the surround sound experience by A) bouncing dedicated Atmos channels off the ceiling above, and then putting those sounds in specific areas in the air above. (Atmos = atmosphere.) The net effect is stunning. We only wish someone would re-master Hitchcock’s “The Birds” to include Dolby Atmos. What about Bluetooth streaming? Or game mode? Well, it's got both and higher quality wireless music streaming (with three times the data transmitted), thanks to Sony’s LDAC technology. At almost 47 inches wide, the HT-ST5000 is a good mate for TVs 55-inches and larger. The bigger size allows room inside for nine drivers: three pairs of tweeters and woofers, plus the two Dolby Atmos units for beaming sound upwards. (Bigger is always better when it comes to audio.) The subwoofer included is huge compared to other sound bar / subwoofer combos, and it will definitely put a smile on your face. As for music, audiophiles will appreciate the HT-ST5000’s high dynamic range and high-resolution audio playback. Boston Pops, Bruno Mars, Rihanna — everything we listened to sounded fantastic. The HT-ST5000’s remote isn’t overly complicated and the unit is easy to set up. You will definitely want to take your time with that, and carefully calibrate everything to your room and your tastes for the best sound quality. Just follow the instructions in the guide provided, and you'll be golden. Trust us, it's worth it. -

The 6-series is supposed to be spectacular... Best 75-inch TVs of 2021 | Tom's Guide (tomsguide.com) The big-screened TCL 6-Series Roku TV (75R635) offers enormous value for it's affordable price, giving you a premium 75-inch picture and a great smart TV experience for much less than the competition. Just like the more expensive Samsung Neo QLED, the R635 delivers amazing quality with mini-LED backlighting in addition to QLED – technology that earned it a 2021 Tom's Guide Award for best TV innovation. The result is impressive color and brightness, with some of the best HDR performance we've seen on anything this side of an OLED display. But TCL keeps delivering more, like THX Certified Game Mode, which makes the 6-Series one of the best gaming TVs available, even for new consoles like the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. From the design's smart touches, like cable management in the stand, to the always-solid Roku TV platform, the TCL 6-Series 75R635 is the best 75-inch TV value, and it's not even close. TCL 6-Series Roku TV (R635) review | Tom's Guide (tomsguide.com) FORExcellent picture with QLED-boosted color and mini-LED backlightGreat gaming performanceRoku TV offers a huge app selection and easy interfaceImproved Roku remote AGAINSTSound is a little weakRoku is missing some of the latest apps TCL 6-Series Roku TV (R635) review: VerdictFor a set that's defined as much by it's value as it's features and picture quality, the TCL 6-Series Roku TV (R635) is one of the best sets on the market. The 6-Series has a well-earned reputation for premium quality at affordable prices, but the combination of QLED enhancement, mini-LED backlighting and a solid smart TV experience make it the clear winner among TVs that sell for under $1,000. Even among past top picks, like the Vizio M-Series Quantum (M658-G1) and the 2019 TCL 6-Series (R625), the new R635 is the best value we've seen for the money, delivering excellent picture quality and plenty of features, including supporting next-generation game consoles. The whole package is enough to make the TCL 6-Series Roku TV (R635) one of the best TVs of 2020. -

You may want to check the warranty and installation specifications of your roofing material. Generally, the warranty does not go into effect until after some number of days at a certain temperature. If you will not be at that temperature again this year, you will need to used an 'enhanced' installation technique to activate the warranty. Usually that means more nails, more time, and more installation cost. When I had my roof done, I got a late start and took more time than expected to select a roofer. We ended up delaying installation until May. Good luck! -

Market Basket is a local store and a national story. Worked there as a kid. Was one of the first people in our local store the day Good Arthur prevailed. It was really cool. They didn't have much to sell, but an employee stood at the end of each aisle to thank each shopper as he passed. Shaws is part of the Albertsons family of stores. Hannaford is a northern New England trucking company that owns a chain of grocery stores. Aldis...well...you probably have one of those. -

Same here. Aldis, Shaws, and Market Basket are on my commute (I drive past three Market Baskets) and within about a half mile of each other. Hannaford is about two miles from my home and also on my commute. My shopping 'process' begins on Sunday when Aldi's posts their weekly ads. On Tuesday or Wednesday, Market Basket and Hannaford ads arrive in my mailbox. Thursday Shaws posts their upcoming ad and Friday Shaws posts their coupons. I buy milk and eggs at Aldis or Market Basket. I also get most of my not-on-sale items at one of these stores. I shop Shaws for their ad. Hannaford is mostly for the ad as well. Both have digital coupons and a very good loyalty program. Market Basket, Shaws, and Hannaford have excellent bakeries. I also pay attention to Amazop's subscribe and save promotions and occasionally visit Ocean State Job Lot for spices, batteries, and other commodities. Most of this is free as the back end of a Crazy Deal. Last week I bought a Z Grills pellet smoker for $399.99 that came with a $200 Crazy Card. This is a ZPG-550B which sells for $439 on Amazon. -

I need a couple iPhones for my kids. That is the Big Hope. Already shopping. I am also in the market for a big tv or a projector. Probably not going to happen this year as the room is not ready and I'm just beginning to research projectors. I'm planning to get my kids bedding, pillows, and robes from MyPillow®: Official MyPillow Site. I am not one to spend a lot on any of these things, but I know SO MANY PEOPLE who have indulged themselves and not a single one eith buyer's remorse. -

I certainly agree that overall prices are on the rise and I have seen some sporadic out of stock or low stock situations, but, for the most part, I have not been spending more and I have not had to do without. I just compiled a shopping list for my Hannaford run tomorrow... 24 Oz. Kahiki Orange Chicken $5.99 - $1.25 coupon = $4.7320 Oz. Could have bought twenty. No allocation issues where I shop.$1.77 for boneless, skinless chicken breast$0.58 for a head of iceberg lettuce$0.97 / # baby carrots I did not notice bare shelves at either store. And LOL at 'four distributors shared the email with CNN Business on the condition of anonymity to avoid jeopardizing their relationships with suppliers'. A real news story would have told you WHY they are having supply chain, labor, and transportation issues. Here is where Kelloggs manufactures stuff... Most of the states where Kelloggs does business were still offering enhanced unemployment benefits in August per CNBC. A decent reporter might have disclosed that... Work at all of the Kellogg Company's U.S. cereal plants came to a halt Tuesday [October 5th] as roughly 1,400 workers went on strike, but it wasn't immediately clear how much the supply of Frosted Flakes or any of the company's other iconic brands would be disrupted. The strike includes plants in Omaha, Nebraska Battle Creek, Michigan; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Memphis, Tennessee. The union and the Battle Creek-based company have been at an impasse at the bargaining table for more than a year, said Daniel Osborn, president of the local union in Omaha. The dispute involves an assortment of pay and benefit issues such as the loss premium health care, holiday and vacation pay and reduced retirement benefits I don't have time to fact check the entire story, but I'd have to give the article five Pinocchios based on my shopping experience, use of anonymous sources, and failure to consider other factors -- such as strikes and enhanced unemployment benefits. Personally, I believe some of these companies are manufacturing crises to justify price hikes. Remember the egg shortage? Just like that. Relax, shop more stores, and turn off CNN. -
What If you only could buy one item this Black Friday?

When we bought out home in 1990, we filled it with Hotpoint appliances (GE value line, employee discount, etc.) including an upright freezer. That was still working when we recycled it about 15 years later. When we replaced our refrigerator (for cosmetic reasons), I stored it in the basement until I could recycle it. Then I plugged it in and put seltzer water and beer in the bottom and used the top for 'deals' (Zaycon Fresh) on meats. Later I added a chest freezer. That 31 year old refrigerator is starting to rust out a bit, but still keeps things as cold as I like. The capacity of the two frig top freezers plus the chest is plenty for me. The chest is not really inconvenient to navigate/rotate if you store your food in milk crates. I really like spreading our cold foods over two refrigerators too. Something to think about if you are pondering a new refrigerator or come across a sale on a basic model. -

Amazon.com: NuWave Primo 1500-watt Dual-Heat Combo Grill Oven with Integrated Digital Temperature Probe: Home & Kitchen Coming up on two years with one of these ($66.49 at Kohls on 11/17/2019). My favorite countertop appliance. This is a programmable indoor grill with a temperature probe. Salmon, steaks, home fries, chicken breasts, whole chicken, chicken wings, and drumsticks all come out great (though I still prefer oil fried drumsticks). Great gift for anyone who grills outside all summer. -

I paid $69.99 for mine after trade in. The reasons they command higher prices after so many years? 1) Cheap ink that will not damage the printer. 2) People like you and me that praise the printer after years of service. Back when we bought ours, there were lots of options, but few that had all of the features of the MX922. Good luck with your ink tank printer. -

https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Echo-Show-Alexa-Enabled-Black/dp/B01J24C0TI I have nine Echo Shows. Five are these first gen devices. I can't find anything wrong with them. The oldest is more than four years old and I have found it to be reliable. I have one on my desk at work. I use it to listen to radio, 'drop in' on my son, and otherwise entertain myself. I have an Echo Connect and use the Show on my desk at work to monitor and answer my landline at home. While the latest models can cost as much as $250, these are $40. Get this for someone who has a new baby. A pair make an outstanding baby monitor. Or just get one and use your smart phone as the remote device. Also a great nanny cam as you can disable indicators of someone dropping in.Get one for an elderly person who wants to be independent and safe. I bought one for my 82 year old mother. We chat face to face from time to time (hands free). If I cannot get a hold of her, I drop in to make sure everything is OK.Get one for someone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen. Alexa can do calculations and conversions, add things to your grocery list, find recipes and substitutes, and entertain you in the kitchen. -
