  1. I just plugged in my 2025DN. Awesome color printer. We do not use it in the summer because when my printer and air conditioner kick in at the same time, my circuit breaker trips and my computer reboots. First world problems, right? It is also warm to run. Right now, I am using up toner then I am retiring this iron horse!
  2. I'm going to disagree with everyone. I'd like to know more about how you plan to use the printer -- color or b&w, scanning, faxing, photos, pages per month, etc., and I own a color laser and a small fleet of inkjets, but I would like to say that the best value in printing at this moment is the Canon MX922 and Meritline's third party inks. Staples and Office Depot have the mx922 for $69.99 on BF and Meritline will sell you four sets (twenty cartridges) of ink for $18.99 w/Code: MLCA24CA with FREE SHIPPING. Let me tell you why I love the mx922... It's wifi, so you can drop it where you print. It scans a tray full of two sided documents or pictures. Photo printing is very good and borderless if you are so inclines. You can print envelopes and other special papers. It's a fax. It's a scanner. It's a copier. The two black ink cartridges are waterproof and photo. Basically, you can highlight text without smudging but get photo quality blacks and grays for images. It's cheapI've been using the ink for about five years and it has never produced poor quality or made a mess of my printer. Get this and you will print for a year for ~$90. If you are unhappy with the results, get a laser next BF.
  3. I am going to STRONGLY advise you to not get one of these. You really should only consider brewers with a reservoir. It is more convenient to use these since you can easily choose different brew strengths PLUS the water is always hot. My favorite is t he Office Pro which has a commercial pump. It looks like Staples has this brewer plus 140 cups for $100.
  4. http://www.meritline.com/dailydeals.aspx that should help!
  5. well, duh -- smartphone! I actually shoot the breeze with anyone who will talk to me, but, increasingly, everyone is on their phone. Lots less fun, but I get it.

  8. Who did you buy them from?
  9. Anyone getting excited over the washer and dryer offerings? My 'value' detector is pulling me towards a GE pair -- the GTW680BSJWS and GTD65EBSJWS. Consumersearch.com and laundry.reviewed.com all had good things to say about the pair and consumer reviews are no worse than any other pair. http://laundry.reviewed.com/content/ge-gtw680bsjws-washing-machine-review http://laundry.reviewed.com/content/ge-gtd65ebsjws-dryer-review I particularly liked what this guy had to say... Home Depot and Lowes have the pair for $1k with a $50 rebate for buying two appliances. What do you think?
  10. They both resemble sleep.
  11. Any chance we get an appliances chart?

  14. I voted mostly online, but while most of my shopping and purchases will be online, most of my money will be spent in stores as new smart phones will be purchased locally.
  15. It's not just that. While Walmart and Best Buy spar over televisions, Kohls puts everything else on sale. I will save more doing the 'rest of my shopping' at Kohls than I will getting the door busters at the other stores.
  16. So far, Kohls is the winner of this contest.
  17. When the kids were young, we used to head to Santa's Village for a 'Christmastime' weekend when I got home Friday. We would check in, have a swim, eat dinner then enjoy a couple hours of Santa and friends -- which entitled us to a return visit Saturday via a second, lineless entrance. Saturday, we would spend the morning at the park, leave for lunch and a swim, the end the night at the village. Sunday, breakfast, a swim, and back home. The pool was indoors but surrounded by windows... http://www.cabotinnandsuites.com/images/me3.jpg Love to lounge in the hot tub during a blizzard. I really need some grandchildren.
  18. I have only shopped on BF with another person on two occasions. One year I shopped with my sister. I guess it was fun, but she lacked the preparation and urgency to maximize yield, if you know what I mean. On another occasion, I took my oldest son. He was a teenager and that worked out great as we split the list and met at the register at each store. This year, I purchased two GD shirts for me and my youngest (who is 20). I won a third and will invite #1 to join us. Should be fun. I never shopped BF with my wife. She watched the kids and put up the tree while I was taking care of business. I think this is ideal. I have seen my share of other peoples' children out on BF and I generally do not think it is a good idea. For starters, how do you shop for them with them? You cannot send them away into the throng while you shop for them. Weather is a problem. Cold toes for me is part of the fun. Do not want to see kids uncomfortable. Then there is the up too late behavior. No one needs to be around someone else's kids who should have been tucked in three hours ago. Get a sitter or shop online until your kids are old enough to enjoy the mayhem.
  19. I'll take the voodoo of The Old Farmers Almanac over the WAGs of the 'scientists' any day of the week and the OFA is calling for a snowstorm, then flurries and cold in New Hampshire -- which is perfect BF weather to me. Tough enough weather to abort the trip to my in-laws, but tame enough for me to hit the road in my F150. http://static1.businessinsider.com/image/4d186bf14bd7c8514c0e0000/citi-gorgeous-black-friday-weather-is-great-for-november-retail-sales.jpg
  20. I love the longer holiday season. Have since I was a kid. Now it seems to sneak past while I am shopping.

  23. I have been going out less each year. It really depends what you are looking for. Walmart's guaranteed items are worth a ride to town.
  24. All I can do here is collect the great recipes.
  25. Getting ready to take on Amazon (AMZN) and Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) for the upcoming shopping season, Target (NYSE:TGT) will start free shipping in November, while it will price most of its holiday assortment under $15. The retailer is also rolling out a service that allows online customers to send friends and family electronic gift boxes that let them make changes to items or select entirely different gifts before they ship.
