  1. I don't shop much home improvement locally. The closest Lowes will not honor deals posted to their web site. I've ordered online for instore pickup and had a higher price waiting for me.
  2. https://www.amazon.com/AstroAI-Portable-Compressor-Inflator-Motorcycle/dp/B07QR4Q42L/ref=gbps_tit_s-5_cd AstroAI Air Compressor Tire Inflator, Portable Air Pump for Car Tires 12V DC Auto Tire Pump with Digital Pressure Gauge, 100PSI with Emergency LED Light for Car, Bicycle and Other Inflatables Everyone should have one of these in their car. One time I got a flat and I could not loosen the lug nuts, so I inflated my tire three times on the way home. Saved me a tow. After soaking the nuts in liquid wrench overnight, I was able to loosen them with a four foot cheater bar.
  3. Weber 14-inch Smokey Mountain Cooker, Charcoal Smoker https://www.amazon.com/Weber-711001-Mountain-14-Inch-Charcoal/dp/B00FKE67V2 If you know someone ( ) who makes jerky, this is a great dehydrator. You really cannot pour smoke out of a bottle. This is on MY wish list.
  4. Toaster should arrive a day early. The Tour De Force is pretty much over. Meatloaf tasked great, but lacked the body I was accustomed to. With no less than 30% of heat from the top, maybe I should have covered with foil. Kind of boiled it ;-) Tacos and burritos came out great.Everything else was stuff we had already been cooking in the Fryer or was cooked on the stove top. Decided to wait on the bread and casserole.

    Gift Ideas

I was just searching for 'Great Christmas Gifts for Adult Children'. One list included a cigarette rolling machine, a gin making machine, and a home brewing kit. I think we can do better.
  6. Personally, I think going door to door for any reason is probably a bad idea. Even if the visitor is careful, there is no way to ensure the person on the other side of the door will be. These people are potential super spreaders that target those at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19. I don't think shopping is particularly risky (remember CDC said 15 minutes in close proximity to someone who is infected). Seriously, how is picking apples more risky than grabbing a bag at the grocer? Has anyone ever put an apple back on a tree? I'm glad I have an excuse not to travel on Thanksgiving. I'd really like to stay home for Christmas for the first time in decades. I won't miss the CDC when things get back to normal. Here’s how the CDC ranks each Thanksgiving tradition: Lower risk activities Having a small dinner with only people who live in your householdPreparing traditional family recipes for family and neighbors, especially those at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19, and delivering them in a way that doesn’t involve contact with othersHaving a virtual dinner and sharing recipes with friends and familyShopping online rather than in person on the day after Thanksgiving or the next MondayWatching sports events, parades, and movies from homeModerate risk activities Having a small outdoor dinner with family and friends who live in your communityVisiting pumpkin patches or orchards where people use hand sanitizer before touching pumpkins or picking apples, wearing masks is encouraged or enforced, and people are able to maintain social distancingAttending small outdoor sports events with safety precautions in placeHigher risk activities Going shopping in crowded stores just before, on, or after ThanksgivingParticipating or being a spectator at a crowded raceAttending crowded paradesUsing alcohol or drugs, which can cloud judgment and increase risky behaviorsAttending large indoor gatherings with people from outside of your household
  7. I feel like he doesn't stand a chance.
  8. As usual, I have no budget. I buy things I want/need when they are at my price point.
  9. Mine are the series 4 (low end) and they look great. I have an antenna. These televisions have a PSIP guide -- which means you do not need a guide service or internet connection. Also, if you plug in a 16GB usb stick, the TV uses it as a one hour buffer for pausing, rewinding, etc.
  10. Seven days until my new toaster oven arrives. In the meantime, I am carrying out a tour de force with my air fryer. Tonight we had pork chops. I also toasted garlic bread in the air fryer. Tomorrow, we are having meatloaf. The pan fits and I'll use the probe to cook to 160f. Probably have most of the heat come from below or put aluminum foil over the top of the loaf if the top begins to overcook. Shrimp scampi on the stove top Friday. We do this all the time. Chicken Cordon Bleu Saturday. Again a regular air fryer meal. Ribeye with twice baked potato Sunday. First for twice baked potatoes. Grilled salmon and asparagus Monday. We do this all the time. Stuffed peppers on Tuesday. Chicken Marsala on the stove Wednesday, but I'm going to cook the chicken in the air fryer which is a change. Over the weekend, I usually make a breakfast casserole and a loaf of banana bread. I'll have to use a couple smaller casserole dishes for the breakfast casserole. I'm open to easy and amazing air fryer recipes if anyone has ideas. Happy October!
  11. Target has been a great retailer for me. The store is beautiful and stocks great toys. Some of their promotions are outstanding. I bought one of my 55" TCL Roku TVs there. I can buy online and pickup on my way home from work, so they are convenient for me. The staff is terrific. Polite, prompt, and helpful. Walmart is a dump with awful help, but they crush it on television sales. I got two of my 55" TCL Roku TVs there. They are on my way home as well. No one mentioned Best Buy, but they have had some awesome television sales already this year. Their Echo Show bundles were not even matched by Amazon. They have been steeply discounting air fryers. They are already in full BF mode. On top of that, they have excellent staff and will help you recycle your old electronics whether you shop there or not.
  12. When I was 19 a woman ran a stop sign and drove through my motorcycle. A woman driving through the intersection legally from the other direction also hit me. They never found the helmet, but I have a nice scar where the strap broke (don't worry girls, it's under my chin -- avatar is completely unaltered). I was momentarily dead but they fixed that right up. They told my mother they did not amputate my left arm for ornamental purposes (put it through a sleeve and tuck it in a pocket). The clavicle was in three pieces and the scapula was broken in half. You can tell if you look at the seams of my shirt, but I was throwing a ball with my left arm before they took the pins out. Real bad idea, btw -- the pins are screws and if you rotate the parts that they are holding together, they unscrew. My freckled shoulder is actually scars from the pins poking out. The guy that did the work removed the pins. He said I was really lucky. I have 96% function of the arm last time they measured. I broke my left tibia from the top of the work boots I was lucky enough to be wearing to just below my knee. Broke a bunch of ribs and even more teeth. I started a drafting program just a couple weeks out of the hospital. Showed up first night with my arm in a sling and a my leg in a cast up to my bum. I bought a new bike the next spring. Drove home through the same intersection and someone ran the same stop sign right in front of me. Memories, am I right? Anyway, I had that bike from 1981 until 1993 when my first kid was born. Gave it away.
  13. That's a good question. Probably not from the manufacturer/importer, but maybe via Amazon or ebay.
  14. Silly Sand starts out wet. Then it dries. Cats do not appreciate art. When your cat finds a pile of sand in the house, they do what they do when they find sand outside. Then they scatter it with their back legs. I was a little kid when Santa brought Silly Sand, but I remember how quickly it disappeared. (I don't remember what happened to that cat.)
  15. I never wash my car. EVERY SINGLE TIME I wash my car, I get in an accident. The day I was killed in a motorcycle accident, I found my younger sister washing my motorcycle. I have had an inexpensive damn-near-perfect Hamilton Beach toaster oven. Lately, I have been thinking about replacing it. Last weekend, I spent four hours cleaning this beast. I cleaned the racks, the removable crumb tray, the walls, and the top. It was something to behold. This morning, I toasted a slice of banana bread in the oven. When I opened the door to remove the bread, it shattered -- violently. Chards of glass stuck to my skin. I immediately thought of that motorcycle...and those cars. As amazing as that story is, I wanted to share a link to my new toaster oven... https://www.walmart.com/ip/Smart-Air-Fryer-Oven-1800-W-Stainless-Steel-26-4-QT-Super-Big-Capacity-Toaster-Oven-10-In-1-Presets-Electric-Digital-Screen-Practical-Accessories/654466122 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Air-Fryer-Oven-1800W-Stainless-Steel-26-4QT-Capacity-and-Practical-Accessories/154035563067 It's a discontinued item with suspect reviews, but, if the reviews and specs are accurate, I think I may have purchased the perfect toaster oven. Walmart is clearing out the toasters at $129. With 5% cash back for paying with Discover via PayPal, OOP is $122.55. Power: 1800 WMax Temperature: 450℉ Capacity: 26.4 QTUnit Size: 17.7x15.5x14.7 inchCooking Presets: French Fries, Chicken Wings, Steak, Pizza, Vegetables, Toast, DehydrateAccessories: Oven Rack, Basket, Baking Pan While there is no mention of it in the description or reviews, the pictures clearly show an interior light (the first picture shows a Light button)... One of the reviews says the oven includes a rotisserie. Again, not otherwise supported.
  16. People wearing masks At doors that never open For deals they're hoping
  17. Thank you.
  18. Silly Sand is probably worse...
  19. Great in the kitchen, but I'd get a Show 8 or 5 with the mechanical shutter for the boudoir.
  20. Probably not. We are family, afterall.
  21. I had our DNA tested. We are definitely family. And, of course, BFFs.
