  3. Woo Hoo Now I am looking forward to going into work tomorrow, as I am the official BF ad finder...can't wait to print it out...Hope the rest start rolling in now.
  4. I made it last week too, but thought it was going to be a weekly event...there were a few of us in there. We were hoping you would show up and give out some t-shirts...LOL
  5. Chat is Sat. at 9 PM est correct? Or has it been changed and I missed it.
  6. Will probably start out 5 miles away up to 35 miles one way before the day is over with.
  7. Stockings are a big thing at my house, a few years ago I talked to my dd's about not doing them, I always overfilled them and had to wrap most of the items to put around their stockings. Since they are married and each have a child I was spending quite a bit filling stockings. My dd's thought I had lost my mind and told me that the stockings were the best part of Christmas and I couldn't change that tradition. So we came up with a great idea that has worked wonderfully for us and helped me save a little...lol Each of the adults has to buy a stocking stuffer for everyone elses stocking. I still buy a few extra items, like it wouldn't be Christmas without their Victoria Secret undies, and new tubes of lip balm, and whatever else I find, last year they all got flash drive one of my BF finds. When they arrive Christmas morning they come in and put the goodies in all the stockings, while I keep the grandkids busy with something else... They are the first thing we open and go through, even the grandkids get so involved they forget about all the stuff under the tree and around the room.
  8. Done deal, but had to come up with a new name, so BFshopper I became...I was surprised no one had used it.
  9. Those dang cheap laptops that walmart had a few years back for the first time. An older lady that I worked with really wanted a computer, her first ever. I knew she would never make it through the crowd, and I love the thrill of the hunt and victory. I told her I would try my best to get her one. When the doors opened I ran like my butt was on fire, leaving the rest of my group in the dust, they ony had 20, I was number 19 in line, while waiting to make my purchase la ady and her teenage son make their way into the line talking to someone already in the line, of course they are going to buy one each...OH NO you are not I inform them, he is really smug and they refuse to leave the line. Of course myself and the man behind me are upset that we will not get one. So I find an employee that works that dept. and we tell her what is going on and a manager tells her that when they get to the counter to make the purchase refuse to sell to them. It got ugly...the lady followed me around while I met up with the rest of my group screaming, yelling, and cursing me. All the while I just kept laughing and holding onto the computer for my co-worker.
  10. I start with a list of ideas months before the ads come out, but am flexible if a really great deal comes along and works as a gift for someone. Once the ads are out I have the basic plan of action, it gets finalized Thanksgiving evening with everyone getting their list of what and where, along with updated cell phone numbers of all who are going, we usually have someone new joining us every year. If we have already sent someone to camp out we always go and visit plus we bring along a few of the many desserts that we have ejoyed during our final plan of attack meeting.
  11. The laptop would be the first thing in the hospital bag...what better way to keep your mind off of the contractions!!! Good Luck with the new baby and your BF shopping.
  12. I have been known to go to Walmart about 11:00pm on Thanksgiving evening and not get home till 9:00 or 10:00 pm Black Friday..., but on average out the door at 2:00am BF and home around 6:00pm. I usually grab a shower after unloading the car and crash and burn till very late Saturday morning. Then off and shopping some more at places I didn't hit the day before.
  13. Since there is a group of us someone or a few go go to Walmart, Target, One or two of the Office stores, depending on who has the best deals...Then off to the Mall to meet up with everyone.
  14. My list starts small and always grows...lol... 2 DD 1 DSIL 1 DD fiance 1 DGD 1 DGS 1 MOM 1 Family exchange gift 1 office exchange gift 8 friends a few of them are for the whole family gifts 1 nail tech 1 hair stylist 1 mailman tip for newspaper deliverer several toys for Toys for Tots local Motorcyle Run and last but not least my SO...we may buy a few big ticket items for the house and call them santa presents...but still will buy a few goodies to open Christmas morning and of course fill the stockings... Also I will try to be good this year both of my daughters claim I make Santa look bad ...with all the stuff I buy the grandchildren....
  15. Our KMart did the ticket thing also for the first time....it was for the Wii's. TV's, and the GPS's. They came out a few hours before opening time and handed them out....people in the back of the line got mad and started yelling at the manager saying there was nothing in the ad that said there would be tickets handed out...like it would matter...not being up by the door when it opens would knock you out of getting the item anyway. I really like the ticket approach, prevents those who try to sneak in at the last minute and knock you out of the way to get something.
  16. Over 20 years...hard to remember not going out on BF. I did the Cabbage Patch dolls and Furbies, now those were some crazy people in line...LOL
  17. I will probably start in Titusville, Florida. Then off to Merritt Island, Viera, and Orlando, Florida.
  18. It varies from year to year, this year looks like 8-10, but who knows as we get closer could be more.
  19. Everyone that is going to shop that day with us, shows up around 7pm and we spread the ads out on the table, everyone has a notebook, to list what is on their list and then we decide who is going to which store and give them the job getting for everyone, it has worked very well for us. Some places get two people sent to that store to get it all. Then we all meet up at the mall and finish shopping, breakfast is whever you can grab it. Last year I got a free breakfast sandwich...I was front and center for the digital picture frames at WM, one of the managers from the Mc Donalds inside the store walked up to the crowd and started talking to us, she made the comment that they would all be gone before she could grab one.... I told her I would guarentee her one in exchange for breakfast...she couldn't get back fast enough with my mcmuffin...LOL...We all stop and eat together for lunch, last year it was Chilli's. Then onto another store.
  20. Paid day off for me too....keeping fingers crossed that the hurricanes don't mess that up for me. I live in Florida and the first week of school we missed 4 days due to tropical storm Fay. School board has posted make up days already, so far BF is not taken, but we will be working Dec. 22nd and 23rd. Can't imagine too many people sticking round for their children to make up two days of school.
  21. If you bought the above mp3 player that they had on sale for 89.78 on Black Friday, you may want to consider returning it. My old mp3 died the Sunday after BF, so not wanting to wait, I ran to wal-mart looking to buy a new one. The sales associate was showing some to me and said oh, we still have a few of the RCA 8g from Friday's sale. Wow, 8g for under a 100.00, and RCA a brand name. Bought it and have since returned it, it was easy enough to set up and would have been easy enough to operate, but turning it on took several attempts, then going to the music and trying to play it, it would auto shut down, when I finally did get it to play it would not turn off when I wanted it to. Took over half an hour to get it turned off. I don't have time to mess with that everytime I want to listen to my music. I would make sure you know where that receipt was just in case you are giving it as a gift. Hopefully mine was just a really bad one. But I did want to warn all that may have purchased them.
  22. THere were a total of 8 in my group shopping...lol We split into 3 groups, Sent 2 people to Ciruit City...they were looking at a cannon camera, not a door buster item, but a good deal, and they got some dvd season series. They got in line at 2:30a.m....line was already around the back of building. They were still offered and could have gotten a couple of the tv's or the 599.00 (I think) computer. Sent 3 people to Target with a list and 3 of us went to WalMart. I was in the WalMart goup...lol dd was picking up toys, I got the cannon camera for dd, personal dvd players and cases, digital picture frame, someone else I know came in just before 5 a.m and wanted one of the dvd players that I was standing by, so told her I would get one for her if she went to jewelry counter and got 48.xx 1/4 carat diamond earrings, deal made and last deal McDonalds manager from inside the store wanted one of the dvd players also, told her I would get hers for a free sausage biscuit...she sent someone back and delivered it to me in line waiting for them to cut the paper lol....free breakfast...grabbed stuff, met dd and her mother in law and switched out stuff headed for register and out of there by 5:20a.m. Met other dd at target about 35 minutes away she was waiting by registers with things I wanted, digital art center 34.99, a couple of timex watches 12.99, a few dvds, got in line there checked out by 6:20a.m., went to Home Depot grabbed outdoor patio heater for 99.00, headed for the mall, the 2 who had been at circuit city had the stuff we were looking for at Sears, checked out, headed to Penney's, magic bullet 59.99 then 10.00 off. One in the group picked up a comforter set suppose to be 89.00 on sale when she checked out it wouldn't scan right number came up but not the price...another lady said oh it is 19.99 so they sold her that 12 piece set for 19.99...lol Went to Penneys picked up a couple of the leather jackets, some mens shirts, a few other knick Knack items, Steve and Barry's 20.00 pea coat for dd. Went back to Sears, grabbed a pair of ruby and diamond hoops for other dd, got another 10.00 off 59.99 sale price...left Mall headed for another shopping center, Old Navy, a couple of fleece pull overs, fleece pullovers for grandkids, and thermal shirt 8.00, then bed bath and beyond nothing special in there, lunch at Chili's then to Belks, got granddaughter a dress for 20.00 reg. 50., a few more sweatshirts, 9.99 reg.32.00, then hit a Lowes picked up a nail gun /compressor thing...for 49.00. Headed home unloaded everything it was about 4:00 in the afternoon. Oh we did try to go to Kohls, but walked in and saw the horrible long lines waiting to check out and said no way and left.
