  1. We always just set a limit, that way neither one feels guilty for not getting the other as much.
  2. This just really stinks!! There is no Best Buy within 50 miles of me. There is a Circuit City in the next town, so that's where we've always went (BF as well as all through the year). CC is always my first BF stop. Guess all we can do is sit back and hope.
  3. Oh thank you so much!!! Did like everyone else and ordered them seperately. Came out to $9.57 a piece. I have been wanting some of these for years but haven't been able to bring myself to pay $20-$30 a piece for them, especially when we already have fine stockings. But this was to good of a deal to pass up! Now I'm gonna want to put them up as soon as they come in.
  4. My SIL had a prelit tree and said that when the lights go out you can't replace them. So, you either have to string lights on top or buy a whole new tree. Not sure, just what I was told. If you really want a good prelit tree for a good price, maybe you should consider other options to make it through this year and then buy one the day after Christmas. Don't know about other stores but we got ours at WalMart the day after Xmas for 50%off. Does anyone you know have an extra that you could borrow this year? Don't laugh, I have two trees upstairs. When we bought ours a couple years ago we never got rid of the old one. Or maybe you could use a real one. My dad and I used to go cut one down ourselves. Someone in our family had some trees growing on their land.
  5. Can I take back what I said then since they're still party poopers!!
  6. They should! It's a major shopping day for many. Instead of whining and complaining about the crowds & the ads being leaked early, they should do things like this. Stores usually take every opportunity the can to capitalize on anything they can, so why not this? Black Friday has been around a long time, but has really went big in the past few years (lots of thanks to GottaDeal for that). I remember in 2004 getting to CC 15 minutes before they opened and there were only like 50 people ahead of us. Now at 15 minutes till the line is wrapped completely around the store. With the economy in the shape it's in retailers are realizing that they should work this day to their advantage instead of trying to fight it.
  7. This coupon code is not working for me, neither is the one from the other thread.
  8. That's awesome that they are going with the flow and working this to their advantage. Guess that means we won't see any threatning letters when we see the KMart ad either. The Golden Ticket thing will definately warrent a few more trips in there. We don't buy that much from Sears so we don't always go in there when we're in the mall. I will now though.
  9. Amen!! Lexi's hospital stays are ALWAYS pneumonia. Although her brain damage and seizures are her underlying issues, breathing problems are what ale her. They are what keep us in the hospital 4-6 months a year. The Pulmonologist said years ago..NO more stuffed animals. She probably had 40 at the time so we pruned through and stuck to 15 that we really liked. We then told the family no more, but they keep on giving them to her. They'll say "I know she's not supposed to have anymore but...". It ticks me off that their desires are greater than her well being to them. They think one more won't hurt. Sorry Back to the OP... I'm in the same boat this year. It's the first time. When we moved DD was 3 and some toys got pruned by design. They went into the bonus room to start with and just never made it back down. I'm not sure how I'm gonna do it this year. I'll feel bad taking their toys away, but my cousin has a little boy that's 10 months old so I'm sure some will go there.
  10. I like the Samsung 50" for $899.99. We are seriously considering that one. I also like the DVD/VHS player for $49.99. DD (6) is getting an LCD tv for her room and will be needing a DVD/VHS player (we still have tons of old Disney VHS's). The cheapest one at WalMart right now is $69.99 so that's $20 saved.
  11. Yippee!!! Another ad!!! Thanks guys!! Can't wait till DD takes a nap so I can get a really good look! I have to say though, I'm with everyone else about being dissapointed with the tv prices.
  12. Hey, I went 4 months preggo with Kaylie and was moving faster than my crew!! If a cop would have told me that he probably would have had to take me to jail! I did carry a "bodyguard" with me though (my cousins friend) She's a stout girl and was in front of me through the inital rush when the doors opened. Granted I wasn't huge at that point but i did have a decent little belly on me at that point. My biggest pet peeves are small children out in the freezing cold and line jumpers. It ticked me off one year we were like 20th in line at CC and everyone started trying to crown beside us and get in ahead of us. Oh yeah, and pushers. That ticks me off.
  13. Parents house is always a good option. What about a small, storage space? It's so close now you could just use it for Nov. and Dec. That's only 2 months of rent for one. We have a large storage unit for some excess stuff when we moved (that we need to get rid of), but our rental place has small, inside units for around $30 a month. $60 would definately be worth that secret. Or maybe you could find a neighbor that you could help each other out. You hide their stuff and they hide yours. That way even if the kids found the gifts, they wouldn't be theirs.
  14. I LOVE monkey bread! We usually just sip on coffee while opening presents, then DH fixes us pancakes! Gotta love a man who makes great pancakes!
  15. That stinks! What time do you have to be there? Could you go out for a little while then go to work? A couple of hours are better than nothing! If not then definately the online thing, not the same, but at least you'll still get some good deals. Though BF to me is just as much about the adrenaline of it all as the good deals. (As it is many here)
  16. I usually end up going after alot of doorbuster and early bird items for myself and our (in house) family. But after I do lots of general holiday shopping for others. So, both i guess. (I love coming home that days with never ending bags)
  17. Bought yesterday ###091080128 Greatland 10x10 instant canopy $24.98 was $99.99 We already have a canopy we just at the beach, but it's one of those that takes awhile to set up. DH has been wanting one of these. Couldn't justify spending $100 on another one, but got one for this price.
  18. That's just torture!! We want more ads!! I hope it's Circuit City since they're having trouble!! But then again, you said they were thinking about leaking it to you, you didn't say when.
  19. This will be DH's first time with their mall opening at midnight, but he was told that one outlet was so bad that they had to shut the interstate down and people were getting out of their cars and jumping the fence to go shopping. Not sure where that was though. I'll check with him later. It probably depends on the malls advertising.
  20. Brad always does that on the ads he gets first. That way if someone else copies it and tries to claim that he stole it from them there is proof of who copied who! If you look Gottadeal.com is on more than just one computer screen. I remember seeing it in @ least 3 different places and I wasn't looking for it, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were more.
  21. Yeah that stinks! I have seen several go on EBay for $200 or less with free local pickup (some were even brand new) but they're always far away.
  22. Thanks Brad, but you weren't kidding about it being a waste of paper. Most of it isn't even on sale. Ugh, some of the Power Wheels are on sale except for the one Kaylie's getting. She wants the pink Barbie Mustang. I've been looking everywhere for a better price. Guess I'm just going to have to pay full price for it.
  23. I can't!! Even seeing him say that it will be done tonight or tomorrow I'm still checking the site inbetween plays.
  24. There are still 23 people! Come join us!
  25. UGH!! This is a teaser to me. The closest Harbor Freight is an hour away, so probably won't be visiting there. Must have more ads, Must have more ads, Must have more ads!!! Thanks Brad, especially for letting us start looking when you weren't even finished. And thanks to whoever leaked!!
