  1. Actually neither. I mean, one of them doesn't get 40 and the other 2, but it depends on what they ask for, how much it costs etc. My ds is 16 months old, he doesn't care, he did not ask for anything and probably has the least # of presents. My dd4 asked for many things (inexpensive) so she has the highest # of presents. (for example, she wants princess chapstick, stickers, paper to paint on, and TWO colors of pens LOL) My sweet stepdaught(8) asked for for exactly 11 things. I gave one idea off of her list to each grandmother and then bought everything else, she has the least amount of money. BUT she is only with us everyother weekend so she doesn't need a whole lot of stuff either. She still has things from last year she hasn't even touched yet. I honestly think it depends on the ages of the kids. When they get older and might care then I will watch more closely.
  2. We usually eat alot of leftover and sandwiches (turkey salad of course) also I usually make a big pot of Turkey noodle soup as well.
  3. We use various toppers depending on which decorations we are using. We use an angel, a star, a bow or a snowman topper.
  4. Mine is a Princess House Nativity. My mother and dh went together to get it for my bday (dec. 15th) the first Christmas dh and I had been dating. I put it up every year, and it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful it is.
  5. I was just wondering if anyone here has a driver for BF shopping? Friends of ours, go bf shopping and start at midnight and shop until friday evening. They travel quite a bit during the day and they go with several family members. They get a van with a driver for the day for a bit less than $100 + tank of gas. Split that between the 8-10 of them, it doesn't seem like a bad deal. They get to shop, rest in the car, plus chat and have fun. My friend said they have been doing this for about 5 or so years and they have great fun. They have to give the van company a list of all the stops they want to make, including starting point etc. and the company maps out a road trip course. She says they have had the same male driver for the past 4 years and that he is so fun as well.
  6. Wow, Walmart is getting sneaky LOL Might be good news for us though. But I do believe those employees who say they have no idea when they will get them. I am sure management is not sharing all the BF secrets and deals with every employee.
  7. sometimes you can find an employee that knows what he/she is talking about and will help you. Ours is 24hr. so you wait inside, they also made a few annoucements about where you should be standing in line at, but there are so many people talking that you don't always here them.
  8. I am breaking in my best friend for the first time. She used to think I'm crazy for getting so excited, but this year she is just as giddy. I cannot wait to see her face when we get there and everyone starts to get into line.
  9. I'm not sure I could camp out several days for something. How do you take off work to buy a game system? Oh well, to each his own!
  10. LOL:giggle: Only one glass for me, or I would just go to sleep. I usually do all my wrapping, the night we get the kids presents out of LAW. This way there is no chance of stumbling upon a gift and it not be wrapped.
  11. Does anyone have any gift wrapping traditions? I, for one, get the kids to bed and get a glass of wine or warm cider. Either put on Christmas music or a Christmas movie. I wrap one child at a time, b/c I have different wrapping paper for each one. This way, I know what belongs to each without writing on each one. After I wrap the kids gifts I wrap the extended family gifts and wrap and tag them based on each place we go. (For example, all the presents that go to the ILs Christmas eve get the same paper) that way I can easily see we have everyone's gift. Dh will sometimes help, or at least make sure each toy has a set of batteries in the box with the item. It is so fun for me and I look forward to it every year. ::: :::
  12. I was just going to ask this, if these deals are going to be online only or is it just an ad that will be good at the stores as well? Hoping for some good deals good enough to over. LOL, just kidding, I always say excuse me before I knock someone over. (kidding again:) )
  13. Where do you get your hands on that flyer? Can anyone that has one scan it?
  14. This is great news!!!!! :gdclap: I know I will be sneaking onto the ILs computer after we eat, so I can check out the *new* deals:yay:
  15. So I run and I run as fast as my legs will go, Just to make sure I get the last Elmo.
  16. Here is the poem so far, with everyone's parts together. Twas the night before Black Friday and all through the house, Not a creature was stirring, except for me and my computer mouse... The sales ads were all sorted, my list has grown so, But at last i had decided...so many places to go! With the coffee pot set.. off to bed I shall go My eyes try to close, but my brain says "NO WAY" No rest for you, on this great shopping day! So into my layers I go To head out to sit in the rain and the snow Tho stars are still twinkling I awake with a start. There's bargains to buy and I must do my part To be the first in line. For it is I who will grab the bargains today. to Wal-Mart to k mart to Sears and the mall i got dressed so quickly i fell in the hall! with chocolate, caffene and sales ads in hand, the excitment was felt all over 'shopping land' With I in my thermals and her in her hat I certainly hope that I dont have to pee or shat Off I go gotta get stuff for thee ( hey it rhymes!) A few expresso shots to keep me buzzing like a bee From TV's to toys to computers and more I just can't believe all of the deals galore. The day it moves on, my stomach grumbles more and more, QUICK to the drive thru, on the way to the next store.

  18. They don't necessarily get brown, but they aren't glassy anymore, they lose the shine and look powdery.
  19. Would love to hear everyone's favorite Christmas cookie recipe. Mine is M&M meringue cookies 2 egg whites (room temperature) pinch of cream of tarter 1/2 Cup Sugar 3/4 Cup M&M (red and green) Beat egg white and cream of tarter until foamy. Gradually add sugar (3-4 tablespoons at a time) and beat until meringue forms stiff peaks. Gently fold in M&Ms Drop by teaspoonful and bake @ 250 for 30 minutes. These cookies just melt in your mouth, I love them.
  20. I have never tried it and honestly I don't intend to, it just looks gross.
