  1. Does anyone know if anyy of these craft stores do anything for BF? I went to Michaels last year, but it's kind of a blur and I don't remember. thanks michelle
  2. I've started shopping at www.houseofpaper.com and have gotten incredible deals. I think the free shipping starts at $15 orders. i've also ordered recently from scrap-a-latte and scrapbookpal. Scrap-a-latte has great clearance deals as low as 10cents per page and shipping is only 6.25
  3. forgot to add don't forget to check out goodwill and similar stores. i find great deals on albums stamps and organizers. i buy silk flowers at garage sales and stuff and dismantle them to use on my pages.
  4. I get stuff at a local scrapbook store, walmart, target, dollar tree, hobby lobby, michaels and joanns. Online, my favorite stores are scrapbookexpress, frugalities, rockymountainhobbies, apeekintoyesterday, mousememories, scrapyourtrip and a few others. if you get on their mailing lists, they will let you know the specials. I also belong to www.scrap-room.com it is a monthly kit club and is awesome. i get great deals on my kit and a great message board and lots of ideas and sketches.
  5. I've ordered from there. my order was well packed and came in about a week, the same as most places i've ordered from. you just have to do your research to know what regular retail prices are.
  6. I have found them at younkers, thinker toys, and some of the card shop type stores at our mall in iowa.
  7. I would like to buy a cricut to help with the scrapbooking. I've heard of people getting them for as little as $120 dollars but I'm having no luck. Anybody know of any good deals on them. Joanns and Michaels now have the disclaimers in their coupon that they cannot be used for them. thanks!
  8. I would have sure that I set my alarm clock for 3 a.m. rather than 3 p.m. I also would have put the cell phone on the headboard next to me rather than the charger in the living room so when my friend called (the one I was supposed to pick up at 3:45) I would have heard the phone ring. I would have taken food so we wouldn't have had to stop at mcd's. No lines at the bathroom, but forever to get any food.
  9. Best: Wal mart - lots of open checkout; cashiers know what they're doing esp with price match JCpenneys - very organized, had employee give candy to people in line and admitted it was to keep people content Bomgaars - go in early to get 20% coupon and can go back any time before closing for sale Joanns and Michaels - love those 20 and 25 % off total purchase coupons Worst: Target - don't think they expected the crowds; still require the cashiers to ask if we wanted a target charge card BEst Buy - our state didn't get the same ad as everyone else - stupid idea - and too many people Menards - 1+hour to check out and not enough carts Kohls - tons of sale but almost 2 hours to check out
  10. I made my plan, I double-checked everything But tragedy struck full of dread and doom By mistake I'd set my alarm for 3 in the afternoon. (the above story is true - the names have been deleted to protect the technologically incompetent)
  11. I checked at best buy. It doesn't list the cds and dvds plus shipping would make up the sale price. I finally put in a zip code for omaha and printed out the front page of the nebraska ad and plan to take it to walmart. Hopefully it will work.
  12. Unfortunately, the closest are either Omaha or sioux falls SD - both are close to 100 miles away. I sent an email to corporate - curious to see if I get a response.
  13. does anyone know if they will honor the national ad if I print out a scan from here? Or would walmart price match the scan from here? I really would like to get the sale prices.
  14. Our ad is different from the national ad! We get a gift card for every $100 we spend. That might be ok if you are planning on spending that much. But I was going after CDs and DVDs - only about 50-75 total. So I get to pay full price for everything. What were they thinking!!!! Even the secret ads at walmart are better than this deal!
  15. Those of us in Iowa just got royally screwed!. We're stuck with the pilot program. I wasn't after any of the big items - just the cds and dvds that were on sale in the nationwide ad. I was probably going to spend around 50-75 dollars. So it's not enough to get a gift card, so I get to spend regular prices. Sorry best buy - you just lost my business to a fleece robe at walmart. At least there I get a sale price
  16. There's folks with their blankets, and folks with their heaters, and folks cutting in line - those dirty cheaters. (yes I know that's my third rhyme, but I'm avoiding the dishes)
  17. I stopped in best buy in sioux city iowa tonight to pick up a gift card. She told me that they were going to have a local ad but it sounded like they were still going to honor the national ad b/c people around here have seen it. I told her that the 5 special items were released on the internet. She said if the company released it, they would probably have to honor it or risk losing business. She wouldn't tell me what the local thing was. She also said that as far as she knew, they were going to price match.
  18. Off to the checkout I go - but there's one last catch I have all these ads I want to price match
  19. My daughter wants me a small american girl doll which they have at barnes and noble. Does anyone know if they have any type of sale? Even 10% off would help.
  20. "It's Mine! It's Mine!" I shout out with glee - I run toward the checkout - they'll never catch me! (for this I spent 4 years in college getting a degree in English)
  21. I would buy gifts of the same amount. The range my family sets up for nieces and nephews is 10-15. My nephew is getting a cars sleeping bag from the disney store (was 30 on sale for 15) plus he's getting a $13 calendar from shopko that I got for free when I bought a fridge magnet calendar for myself. So while he's actually getting about a $45 gift, I still only spent $15. I can't be any fairer than that. My husband's family has 20-30 for gifts for the gift exchange. The person who wants gift cards gets a $30 gift card. The people that I buy a real present usually gets something worth more than $30 b/c I can usually find a good bargain. The next year, someone else may end up with a good bargain that you found.

    Bomgaars

Has anyone seen their ads yet? My daughter wants horses, horses, and more horses and they carry the breyer horses at the store.
  23. Just a word of warning - Dale Jr's sponsor is budweiser. I'm not sure how big your 11 year old is but my son is 12 and is 5'8" and wears a men's small t-shirt. Our school does not allow any type of alcohol advertising, including dale's bud items. My boss's son got sent home to get a different coat b/c he was wearing a dale jr uniform coat. The stuff in kid sizes generally doesn't have the big bud logo, but it is tougher to find in adult clothing sizes. The same is true for Kurt Busch (Miller lite) Reed Sorenson (coors) Dave Blaney and Clint Bowyer (hard liquor) but of course the school doesn't care if they wear shirts with casinos such as Robby Gordon. You may want to check your school's clothing policy before you spend a bunch of money on clothing b/c you'll end up with a disappointed young boy who won't be able to wear it to school.
  24. I think Kaya would be great. She's very unique and has a very special history. My daughter has Samantha and loves her too. She now wants molly. I wouldn't worry about her being afraid to play with her. I've notice that my daughter plays with her AG doll along with her battat dolls from target and walmart, but she plays with her more carefully and puts her to bed in a special spot each night. My thought on the just like you dolls - my daughter had long blonde hair and we recently got it cut into a short shag type haircut. She made a comment that none of the dolls look like her anymore. Even though she would know better, I would be worried that she might try to make her doll look more like her. I did that at her age to my barbie. I get a lot of clothing for her dolls at target - much cheaper than AG although I do watch for their sales. Another good site is www.shopgoodwill.com I've gotten some nice things from there. We're also found some of the accessories at consignment stores. Last summer, we found 2 bookends, a figurine and a charm bracelet.
  25. Are there any good sales out there on legos? My 12 year old is tough to buy for and listed all the expensive sets. I'm really tired of reading page after page through google. thanks
