When it's really cold - and we've had a few times standing in line below zero - almost everyone in line that is with a buddy does the 15 min swaps to get warmed up. Both people are there, just one in line at a time to get warmed up in a car. I had one particularly cold night that the people in front of me invited me to do some warm up time with them in their car. must just be a midwestern thing. The attitude is that we are all waiting, but due to weather, it just doesn't make sense to have each person stand in the cold the entire time. No one minds b/c if you are standing in line for any length of time, it's readily apparent what is going on. Of course, there are also those in line who are keeping warm with a flask, but that is part of the fun.

You can put the items in your cart BUT the BF price will be on the left side in red. Check the price on the right side. None of mine matched up to the BF price. I called peneys and they said it the entire site won't update for all time zones til 8 a.m. tomorrow. This is different from last year b/c I had no problems at all at midnight. I had to place my order by phone and they did manual overrides on all of the prices. Some items might already be updated. Sounds like their system is not happy tonight.

Be careful when shopping online!!!! It is 11:15 p.m. cst. the ad said black friday prices available now. Put the stuff in my cart and when I went to check out and put in my info, it changed everything back to sale prices. If one of the items hadn't had such a big price difference, I might not have caught it. Only thing I can think of is that it goes live at midnight whatever your time zone is (which is actually kinda stupid for an online store b/c by the time it's midnight in the pacific time zone, a lot of things will be sold out on line).

In the midwest, it is very common for people to take turns waiting in a warm car. Both people start out together and then they start taking turns. usually, no problems, just jealousy that they have someone they can do this with. Here's a different twist on the issue. I am awaiting knee replacement surgery and currently wear a brace from mid calf to mid thigh. My plan is to meet with my friend after I get done at walmart. My job is to go inside, get the cart, and then sit down and wait for her. She will be getting the items. It is very chaotic in our Target and I'm nervous about injury. Our Target is not set up well for black friday and you can't get a cart anywhere near where the items are at. I simply cannot stand outside in the cold (the temp is supposed to be 0) b/c it creates a huge problem with the joint. My friend plans to tell those around her in line before I get there, that I won't be doing any real shopping but just sitting there with a cart in the shoe dept. (like a good husband would do if we could get ours to come with us), and if they need someone to help hold things, I'm more than happy to help them out. We're hoping this will help solve some problems. BTW, if you see someone with an obvious disability, please cut them a little slack. They probably can't run to get the items, so don't knock them over. If you see someone in a wheelchair, don't push them out of the way (yes, I have seen that happen), if they are trying to get to a deal on movies or something, follow the golden rule and ask them if they would like you to hand them one.

Could be on vacation...could be college kids earning some money holding places in line....I actually wonder more about people waiting in lines to see a movie. It will still be there tomorrow - the good sale won't be.

I have the regular cricut. (cricket like the bug). There have been very few things that I wanted to cut that were bigger than 6 inches. And it's easier to transport if you want to take it to crops.

Where did you see that it starts at 8 a.m. and any idea what time zone that would be?

I've been hunting everywhere and can't find one. i want to buy from a store with a better "name" like apple, overstock, best buy etc b/c I saw on message boards that a lot of these extra cheap places dont have any warranty on the ipods.

according to their ad, some of the items are in store only (of course, the item I want) which leads me to believe that the majority of the ad will be online

well, they got their publicity. wonder if bb paid them to sit there so they would get free news coverage of their "deals"

I can't wait for this ad. My son is 6'6" tall, so they do not carry any jeans in his size in the store. last year, I was able to order them at the BF price in the catalog.

Our forecast for northeast Nebraska is a high of 41 and low of 21 - much better than wednesday and thursday which only have highs in the 20s. And only a 10% chance of precip. BUT...... I was in Omaha last weekend, the forecast was for flurries and maybe a light dusting. There was 5+ inches of that nasty snow. so I don't believe any forecast when it comes to winter weather.

I actually had the same worries. Then I saw the 32" tv on sale at wm this week with free shipping to home. Solved my problem very easily. I think it was $15 more than the one I had planned to get - but I don't have to mess with it and possibly not even get one and don't have to worry about it in my car while I shop.

Must be better garden center checkouts in wisconsin. Even the ones back there take close to an hour to check out in sioux city. But there are so many things I want and the only wm stuff I want is on sale at midnight.

The prices on the cartridges really aren't that great. I just bought two cartridges at cricutmachine.com on their pre-bf sale and paid $22 for both of them plus shipping.

The checkout lines are horrendous - as bad as kohls which is why I don't normally shop there. Can anyone tell from the scan which cricut cartridges are on sale? I've tried zooming and just get a big blur. I'm curious since I might try to price match over at walmart.

I don't remember anything for hobby lobby on bf.

Does anyone know if these are the same cricut lite cartridges that walmart normally carries for 39.99 or are they different ones? I've tried to tell from the ad, but just can't read the titles clear enough to decide what they are. These normally never go on sale, so I plan to get a few. But if they are a limited edition, that would be great too. just trying to decided how to spread out my money. thanks!

The nearest joanns is about 100 miles away - do they put their ads online on bf?

I always see people complaining about not being able to get more than 1 item or having to get an armband etc. I like Walmart's policy. It's FAIR to everyone. The doorbuster items should not go to the biggest person or the person who fights the dirtiest. The 85 year old grandma who stands in line has the same exact chance as the 200 lb former linebacker of getting a computer. I have had my feet stomped on, been kicked, shoved etc just so someone could take the item out of my hands. I'm wearing a full leg brace b/c I'm waiting for knee replacement surgery. I plan to shop at WM and skip Target b/c I know that I don't risk being tackled to get an item. (btw - the person you physically shove/push/etc to get an item could have a disability resulting in an injury from your actions and could be related to a lawyer - just saying) Also, the first person in line shouldn't be able to get all the items. If you want more than one, bring a friend. If you want more than one big item, then bring a friend. Walmart is doing its best to keep it safe for everyone and to keep it fair. It's their store and they can make the rules and if people hadn't created the problems at a few of the walmarts by their actions on BF, then WM wouldn't have had to make these rules.

I won't shop at Kohls because the average wait in line is close to 2 hours. Menards is about 1 hour. I have a knee that is being replaced next spring and there is no physical way for me to stand in line that long. I also don't do target because it's a zoo. They only use 1 door at our store and it is a mob that goes in. You can't get past the front door once you do get in. I shop at Walmart - our store is great. There are maps. There are lots of associates who keep people from doing stupid stuff. The aisles are big enough to accommodate the people. they pass out armbands for the big items so it's not a matter of the biggest person or the meanest person getting the item.

I went ahead and ordered the sanyo tv. I figured I should get it now in case I'm not able to get a tv I like on black friday. It's free shipping to home. since I shop by myself, this is worth a little extra money.
