My 8 yr old LOVES the Kirby game for the DS (Kirby Superstar) and the Lego Star Wars/Batman/Indy Jones games. (He gets extremely upset and frustrated with the more complex games, so I think Kirby is more like a Mario game, if that helps.) Of course, all of the Mario type games are good for that age too. My 13 yr old said to mention Diddy Kong Racing, the Petz games, and Nintendogs. Hope that helps you out...good luck in your search!!

Yes, if you're not sure if he'd like it, get the $29.99 bundle in the first post (it has the original game & the attachment). If he likes it, you can always get the other game (Decades) later for more songs.

There is a newer GH on Tour: Decades that was just released...Amazon has it as well (3rd party seller though), but it's $49.99 for the game & "guitar" attachment bundle. My 13 yr old and my 8 yr old sons both want it, so I'm guessing 7 would too. You don't need a guitar, this has a little add-on piece that hooks onto the DS to be the "guitar." I've got a 2-Liter of Mt Dew on ice now for Thursday night...online shopping mostly here. I checked on this one last night and decided not to buy from some of the reviews. But, the price for King (only) was $16.99...Full/Queen was $35 & twin was $29. So, it looks like the price has just been adjusted back up to normal now.

Yes, you have to pick games that are $29.99 or higher for the deal to work. On the shipping...did you sign up for the TRU Rewards club? If not, go to the Rewards tab at the top of the home page and sign up. They'll give you a free shipping code for signin up that's good for about a month.
