I've worked retail black friday. Worked it when I was deathly ill. Would have worked if they'd asked me to be in for a 12:00 shift instead of a 5:00. Why? It was my job. I actually enjoyed working that day and dealing with all the people.

It depends on the store. Mine had signs up all over the place that they would not price adjust thanksgiving day or black friday

You could always try to find other people that want the same things you do and offer to get one for them if they'll get one of whatever they're in line for for you.

We have the vpocket. We've had issues almost from the very beginning with the adapter not working, but it runs fine on batteries. If you check amazon you'll see the reviews are much better for the leapster than the vpocket. That being said, we were going to upgrade the boys to leapsters this year but given the cost for a unit for each of them and games as opposed to just buying another vpocket from walmart so they won't have to share any more, we're just buying the vpocket. We'd love to go with the other system but that would be most of their christmas right there. Since you obviously don't have either system and all the games that go with it this wouldn't be an issue for you and I'd go with the leapster.

The longest I'll wait in line outside a store is half an hour. I figure if I don't get what I came after I wasn't meant to have it and move on to plan B. I've got to get a little sleep before my shopping marathon so I plan to leave my house about 11 which means I'll get there about 11:30 or so. My cousin will be with me so we'll rotate one in line and one in the warm car until opening. She's not buying anything anyway, she's just going to stand in line for me inside the store while I shop. :)

I have a little coin purse I attach to a belt loop with a sturdy ring. It's secure and stays hidden under my clothes. It also hangs so the zipper has to be shut for it to hang right. Cash and Driver's license go in there. Everything else gets left at home.

They have one round of doorbusters starting at 12 and another starting at 5.

Sad as it is to say, it was the 50% off handy manny motorcylce from Kmart that my youngest wants and the shelves in the Lowe's ad for 45 as we desperately need them for our store room. Yes, very very sad.

whether we even go or not this year will depend on what toys they have when dh and I go scope them out. If they don't have stuff that's on the boys' list we'll skip it for the first time in years. Just don't have what I'm looking for this year. Mainly video games and movies. And this is the first year the boys have wanted very specific things for christmas instead of me just getting what I want for them

That's true if Target has the games you want. The two games I wanted for myboys I haven't been able to find in store any where so I knew I was going to have to get them on line. So it was a good deal for me.

well, I took advantage of the wii games deal since two of the games I'd planned on getting the boys for christmas were on their list. and I took advantage of the $10.00 preorder (seperate deal I think) on the movies and got 2 star treks for DH and my dad and the night at the smithsonian for the boys. Five presents out of the way. Yay!

I saw the commercial earlier today and Bakugan was one of the things listed though it didn't say what specific items so if any of you are looking for that keep an eye out.

WooHoo! Governer finally signed off on us having the day off!

I usually skip kmart on BF but there are three things on my youngest's list in the ad, and of course one of them is listed as a % so no one will match it. Dang it, another store to fit into the schedule.

I'm a county employee so we get the same holidays as the state. Every year for the past 45 years the governer has signed an order making BF a state holiday. It hasn't been signed yet this year so I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to have to work. And there's no way I can take it off as I know my boss will and only one of us in the dept can be gone at a time. I'll have to see if I can come in late so I can go shopping before.

Fluffy Pumpkin Pie 1/2 c. cold milk 1 pkg vanilla instant pudding 1 small container cool whip 1 c. canned pumpkin 1 t. pumpkin pie spice 1 ready made graham cracker crust Whisk together the milk, pumpkin pie spice and pudding until thoroughly mixed. Whisk in pumpkin and then add coolwhip and mix well. Put in crust and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Refigerate any unused portions.

I sent dh to get one each of the helmet heroes for our boys. He got there at 3:30 and got the only two on the shelf. Someone tried to guilt talk him out of them but he ignored them and went to the register. WooHoo! Two more presents down.

I'm the same way with the wii games, but I figure there's no reason I can't wait and get them from amazon a couple of weeks before christmas. That's a lot of time to find a good sale between now and then. And my youngest has declared that he wants that giant Spike dinosaur from Santa. There's no way he's getting that unless I find a killer deal somewhere which I seriously doubt.

Those books may rotate out before BF. If you want them I'd get them now. They seem to rotate them out seasonally, so those may have been the fall promotion, not the winter, but I'm not sure.
