  1. My 6 year old Nephew wants Superman Cape Socks...- not a odd request in itself... except, they only make them in adult/junior sizes. Now, how to explain that one to him....
  2. Here's another JC Penney treasure. Children's Bubble Jackets - infant - size 20, BLACK FRIDAY ONLY - $15, Regular Price $17. No, not even $2 off is going to get me through the door. Another, none of their "fine" jewelry is marked more than 30% off. All kinds of items on sale for $70, regular price $95, granted that's a little better but still not enough to get me in the door of the store.
  3. One that caught my eye... JCPenney- Arizona- junior long sleeve vnecks or themals - BLACK FRIDAY ONLY - $7 - Regular Price- $8-$10, seriously? $1 off isn't going to get me to stand in line.
  4. I think I shared many years ago that I lost my fiancee on Christmas Eve. We had met when I was 15, and he was 17 and dated for 3 years before we got engaged. He popped the question on my 18th birthday in Sept, but we planned to wait until I graduated college to get married. He lived in North Carolina, and was on his way to spend Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning with my family then we were going to go to his family's Christmas afternoon. He was killed by a drunk driver - and I felt like a huge part of me passed away that night as well. It was years before I could think about putting up a tree, or wanted any part of Christmas. But, I eventually married and had a child, so Christmas came back into my life.... different, but back. It's been many years since I said my goodbyes to my love, but he's still in my thoughts every Christmas Eve, only now I remember him with smiles and joy, and not so many tears. I tell you this- to help encourage each of you. I am so sorry for the pain, and sorrow that you are experiencing, it stinks that we have to say goodbye to people we love, even if it's just for a little while... but it will get better... not overnight, but it will get better. Lean on your loved ones, your family and your friends... You all will be in my thoughts and prayers!
  5. Now you're talking about the BF's I used to love. Things sure aren't like they were then, and I miss them. I did some on line shopping last year Thanksgiving night, and didn't leave my house until 4am Friday morning. We only spent a few hours shopping last year, whereas in years past it was a all day event. The group that I've shopped with for years are all in agreement again this year, we won't do the early openings.
  6. Picked up a couple pairs of the striped fuzzy socks for girls in the Halloween area today, they rang 70% off. Thought that was a little odd.
  7. Spending time with my family and friends... and then spending the rest of the year laughing about the crazy things we did that day.
  8. Doorbusters you will Tuck away for gifts thanks to Friends on Gottadeal!
  9. You're welcome. I should have said YMMV simply because I phoned 3 different stores before I found someone that knew what I was talking about. Apparently the stores had received a memo at the end of the week before. The ladies in layaway were talking about "how they were going to know to get the item and put it in layaway".... I'm glad you mentioned that. I will have to make a trip back to the store and get clarification from them as well.
  10. Don't know if you are still looking for the Deluxe Wii U, but I thought I would share this. The units were on the front of our walmart ad yesterday advertising Layaway. I went to one of the local stores and talked to a manager who told me that it was basically a preorder at store level. You put the item in layaway now, and can pick it up on November 18th or anytime before December 14th. I thought it was a odd way to list store preorders, but I did place one on layaway yesterday. Hopefully it will be there when I go to pick it up.
  11. I totally agree. I spend most of Thanksgiving morning and afternoon working at a Thanksgiving feast/clothes closet activity for homeless, then we do Thanksgiving at our house around 5- by the time the last guests are gone... usually around 9 - I am wiped out. If I can't have a few hours sleep I'm useless.
  12. And they are out... for pre order anyway, looks like the release date will be in Sept. and Oct. Dear Customers, Today we're excited to introduce the all-new Kindle Fire HD. 13. Awesome deal, congrats! That's the one thing I was really hoping to find but they were long gone from our stores at 50%.
  14. You're welcome. I managed to find one at my local store, might try to hit another store tomorrow. Thinking Christmas gifts already!
  15. another vote for Stub Hub.... I've used them often and have never had a problem. Getting ready to use some this weekend for a couple of Braves games, hope I didn't just jinx myself.
  16. With the exception of my one buying spree when things were marked $2, I haven't bought a thing in JC Penney's since the change. Granted the store is now more spacious, but the selection has dwindled tremendously as a result, which I think is part of my personal problem. I don't really see the "big" savings myself, and the few people that I know what work in the store have all told me their sales are down significantly. It's not hard to figure out... it's like a ghost town in there...
  17. Hey Kim, I go to the one in JC. We had one in Eliz. a LONG time ago, but it is no more... Strange, none of the three in the TriCities (JC, Kingsport, or Bristol) have ever marked down on the same schedule. Not sure why that is though...
  18. I found a lot of the $2 bargains this past weekend at my local JCP. The way to identify what was being marked down in the clothes section (as explained to me by the manager) was to look for the old "pink" clearance tags on items, along with the new "best value" tags, the pink tags indicated this was older merchandise. Anything I found like that I took to one of the girls that was marking (on Saturday, I might add, not Friday) the items down. The manager of this store always grins when he sees me walk in.... he knows I'm looking for a bargain, and he's usually pretty helpful in helping me find one. I'm not a big fan of the new system, I liked the old way- but I do like the $2 prices.
  19. Yay... I'm in for a 9 lb one for Easter! Thanks!!! Funny thing... it's my mother' s bday today. She's 18 today, and her grandson will be 19 on Sunday!
  20. Nothing left worth mentioning at my local Targets at 70% much less 90%. Either people were spending a lot more in my area this year, or our stores seriously cut back on their ordering. I did have to run in to Target last night to pick up a few items, and on the regular aisle were two boxes of Triscuits and two boxes of Wheat Thins with snowflakes... obviously not reg. packaging. So, scanned them... yeah, full price. How crazy is that?
  21. Merry Christmas Everyone!!! Hope it's been a great one for everyone!
