  1. Were you trying to check out with Paypal? I ran into the same problem if you were... I ended up using my debit card for payment, and had no issues checking out that way.
  2. Alright! I posted my first online deal find in quite some time earlier today- maybe that's a step in the right direction!
  3. Simply having a wonderful Christmastime... yeah, I know... again, with the E.
  4. I've managed to start, but I have a LOOONGGG way to go. I just can't seem to motivate myself either. Hopefully I'll pull myself out of this funk and get my butt in gear sooonnn!
  5. Lol. You have to love Belk and all their exclusions.... I'm usually shocked if a coupon I have for there works.
  6. Might not be a bad thing for everyone involved if they are getting paid time and half... We didn't on holidays when I worked in retail.
  7. I worked in retail for 6 years but that was back when the "box" stores (with the exception of Kmart) were closed on Thanksgiving. Heck, the chain I worked for was even closed on Easter... I did work weekends, and some holidays (such as July4th, Labor Day etc.) I worked for a local hospital for 5 years, and EVERY holiday I was on call- I knew that going in as well, the difference was whether I was there or not for that job could have significantly altered someone's life. Retail positions just don't pull that kind of weight. While it's unfortunate that not everyone is afforded the option of spending time with their families during the holidays due to career obligations it's a shame that retailers are now in battle to "throw the doors open first" and the employees are having to work on the actual Thanksgiving holiday. Unfortunately, it appears this is becoming the norm and the general public will be out in droves. Makes me wonder how young children will truly perceive Thanksgiving in the future. Just another "shopping day" I would imagine. Sad....
  8. I've been looking for this one too~ there are a few things that I'm interested in- but I won't be there at 8.
  9. I rarely shop at ToysRUs now, but I did check with the rest of the bf crew... the concensus is there is nothing worth rushing the holiday meal/ family time for. I do hate it for the employees that have to work as well.
  10. Thanks, but she will not use earbuds(unfortunately) she says they bother her ears. I'm the same way so I can't fuss about it too much I guess. Unfortunately, pink isn't a option. That's a good deal on them though!
  11. Niece added the pink solo beats to her wish list this week... looks like I will be on the lookout for these too.
  12. Right... or the mall board will fine the stores that refuse to open ___ amount a hour until the doors are open.
  13. I love several, Miracle of 34th Street, Polar Express, Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation. Every Christmas Eve it's a family tradition to watch "It's a Wonderful Life". The family always makes it a "party" with snacks and hot chocolate.
  14. Me too.... wondering if it was something they did for a short period of time yesterday. Edited to add: I did finally see a orange strip across the top of the actual kindle page - stating I qualified for a extra $20 off of any kindle.
  15. Sheets and towels flying People duck, children crying Black Friday madness!
  16. Black Friday at 3am Shopping done, computer off Never left my house!
  17. Children scream, carts crash Found the item I needed and away I dash!
  18. Digger the dog (ooohhh, I loved him) Colorforms Lite Brite Merlin My favorite - Red Honda Kick N Go Scooter! Do I really need to list my age?
  19. I do not like the idea of the stores opening on Thursdays either. Our family dinner is at my house traditionally around 5 since I have other obligations early that morning through early afternoon. I refuse to rush the meal with my extended family in order to go shopping. I agree with the other posters regarding how sad it is that retail employees are no longer able to spend time with their families due to the fact they have to be at work earlier and earlier on holidays. It seems every year at Thanksgiving we are spending time remembering our loved one(s) that shared the meal with us the year before that are no longer with us... It's a special time for my family (many that travel great distances) and no sale will ever compete with those memories.
  20. Ads checked, my list made Coat, money, coffee and crew To the stores we go!
  21. Doorbuster in cart swerving to avoid "aisle jams" check out quick, great start!
