  1. you could put a post it on everyones back with a word or phrase on it(they dont know what word or phrase it is) the only way to figure what the post it says is by asking yes or no questions to the other guests-its a fun way to pass the time and can be done while other activities are going on for example on a post-it, it might say "Christmas tree" another could say "turkey" "fruitcake" etc... you can make it have a theme or not-then as the day goes on ppl try and figure what the heck it says on their backs....make them funny, be creative most of all Have a HAPPY Thanksgiving....
  2. it was from giaheadquarters.com its a teen/tween site for girls their latest sbox was the sims 2 and the sims 2 pets somehow we got 2 of em(i have 2 dd's who are a part of this siteone's teen ones a tween)...so we are keepin one and givin one as a gift(I know thats SOOOOO cheap of us) BUT it's a great gift-we live paycheck to paycheck we do what we can do...
  3. we got the sims 2 and the sims 2 pets....the pets would not work without the sims 2 so I guess everything else is an exspansion pack to the sims 2 and btw this is a FAB deal the sims 2 and sims 2 pets retails at about a $70 value together...we got 2 of these on a freebie deal got one for home another as a gift my children LOVE it...cant keep off the pc...except while they r at school...
  4. Thats a "door stop" right???? :eyepoppin :eyepoppin ;)
  5. we have 3 lil lovelies ages 9,11 & 13 they all get one gift that ranges in the $100-150 range usually technology related one wants an mp3 player, one a pink nintendo ds and the other a cell phone "on a plan" lol, we usually do a box of clothes, a gift card each and one or two other items they have asked for....since I am remarried 2 of my children REALLY make-out at Christmas time due to my ex's side of the family and my dh's side treats them like they are their own-it's my youngest who sometimes gets much less-now thats hard to not over-compensate for... We ARE one of those families that live paycheck to paycheck and to be honest with you I have NO idea how we pull it off each yr! right about now is when i start buying the bigger items-i shop for clothes right after the back to school sales hit and things go on clearance(I have to my kids like abercrombie, hollister and american eagle the only way i could afford it is on clearance) for Christmas so i have most of that done...I will buy one big ticket item each paycheck(dh's check-as i am a sub and work is sporatic) and i do get weekly child support payments now those really come into play for the holidays, and now is the time for them become non-exsistent yiyiyiyi to be honest with you this site has helped me tremendously in freebies and gift cards/certificates and cold hard cash(i was a gawker for about a yr before I took the plunge and joined-hence my newbie status) but I have gotten a lot of GREAT items for other family members for Christmas like a senseo coffe pod, whole coffe beans for the coffee lovers in our family,wal-mart gc's,the sims 2 and the sims 2 pets just to name a few and thank goodness for the $105 amazon gc's i have saved up so far as that will help buy the mp3 player for my child...all the samples i have gotten like shampoos, conditioners, lotions, perfume samples, trial sizes of items, spices etc i will make small gift baskets out of by adding a few personal touches of my own...for neighbors and the unexpected holiday guest we say every yr we are NOT going to put anything on the CC's but we usually have to put a few items on the charge cards..... well i have replied to 2 questions and still couldnt answer either one LOL I honestly dont know how much we spend on our kids hubby says toooo much and answered about the paycheck to paycheckers.....and still am not sure how we do it.... thanks for lettin me ramble:)
  6. Thats so awesome!!! I havent seen any commercials yet BUT I cant wait till i do guess i better put it on abc family...I am already in the spirit of Christmas thats all I need is abc family and the salvation army bell ringers! did somebody say secret santa and holiday skippin is over?????
  7. My 1st tree with my husband was a purple and silver decorated tree Oh it was soooo pretty, but many yrs and 3 children later we really dont have a theme our tree is this beautiful hodge podge of ornaments the kiddos have made at school and about 8 yrs ago I started a tradition of giving the children a tree decorating gift which is an ornament i picked and put their name on the theory is when they get married and have their 1st Christmas they will have a starter collection of ornaments from their childhood yrs...so our tree is a lil bit of this a lil bit of that and a whole lotta love.... Last yr the hubby realized the two of us didnt have a lot of ornaments to put on the tree ourselves so now we both buy each other an ornament that way when the kids are gone and married we wont have a bare tree!
  8. last yr we did a scavenger hunt that my parents set up it consisted of small bown lunch sacks that were full of lil goodies some good-like, 1 dollar bills roll of quarters, fruit, scratch off lotto tickets, some had notes telling you to go look elsewhere for more instructions etc some bad like a bag of ummm fertilizer and some flower seeds and let me say the fertiler wasnt the kind you buy at the store LOL or a fake plastic safe that when you opened it was full of play money each of the bag had dots on the bottom and certain colors could trade if they wanted to(before opening) there was one bag that had a red dot on it that person looked for clues throughout the house and yard it ended in the freezer looking for a baggie filled with yep you guessed it.... "Cold Hard Ca$h" it's just a fun game my parents do since we do our Christmas with them on New years day everyone plays even the kids we all look forward to it to see what crazy things will come up with this yr...
  9. I have a yummy(at least my family thinks it's yummy) breakfast casserole...great to make up the night before 10 eggs 1pint cottage cheese 7oz green chilis 1tsp baking pwder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup melted butter 1/2 cup flour 1lb montery jack cheese-shredded melt butter in 13x9 baking dish In a seperate bowl beat eggs until a lemon color then mix in the rest of the ingrediants, chill overnight bake at 350 for 35-45 mins ovens and different altitudes do vary the cooking time you can add in your favorite meat like ham or cooked sausage but the casserole cooks up better IMHO without the meats, I usually just cook ham, bacon and sausage and the family has it on the side with the casserole... also dont forget about the omlets ina baggie everyone could make up their own omlet the night before then cook em in the morning....very easy to do and lots of add in options....
  10. breakfast casserole make it the night before 10 eggs 1pint cottage cheese 1lb montery jack cheese 7oz green chilis 1tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup melted butter 1/2 cup flour melt butter in 13x9 baking dish in seperate bowl beat eggs until a lemon color then add all remaining ingrediants, pour into butter filled baking dish, chill overnight, bake @ 350 for 40-60 mins(your oven may vary) we have tried this recipe with other add-ins but always go back to making the casserole per the directions-it just comes out better with nothing but the actual ingrediants and if we want sausage, bacon or ham we make it on the side. There are some wonderful recipes posted here we will have to try! YUMMMMMMY
  11. We have done the "Angel Tree" usually at wal mart we(the whole family agrees on a child) try to pick a child around the same age as our own and usually (at least here) they are asking for socks, gloves, hats etc basic warm necisities and we then let our children pick out gifts to go with what they asked for(we have 3 children-and they really enjoy shopping for others)...for us we feel like we are teaching our children a valuable life lesson-so we make it a family affair...hoping we can make a difference in just ONE life.... Happy Holidays
