  1. You could always put hummus in the center of the tray, walmart and sams have it ready to serve in lil containers or make your own taboli-it's very easy and goes well with a sandwich tray
  2. my dd came home from school and said her friend gave her the # to call santa we have been tryin since 3:40 pm to get through...maybe we will hafta try the norad # nope just tried norad...the recording said to call back Christmas Eve
  3. Paula Rocks! How bout buying a 2007 calendar and taping the tickets to the day of the show? or write in on the day of the show and have the tickets taped somewhere in the calendar... If you can find the Paula Dean mixes you could do a gift basket with the tickets in there. You could do a paula Dean recipe book and attach the tickets like a bookmark in the book.... I bet your mom LOVES this GIFT...
  4. Last night while at Target my dd(13) reminded me of the Klutz books.....maybe your niece would like one of these. heres a link incase you havent heard of of these books http://www.klutz.com/
  5. what about the High School Musical dvd, or the soundtrack. My dd's 10 & 13 LOVE HS Musical... as far as the teen mags my 10yo dd Loves them they are about half n half I would say now, the last one she bought had stuff about ashley tisdale, zac effron, has a lot of disney channel stars etc,she likes to "write" so she writes to all the stars that they have listed address's for in the mag...but she may like the Girls Life mag better. You could always do a book bag set and fill it with goodies and book store gc, you can get an inexpsensive canvas bag at hobby lobby, micheals etc, and decorate it with her name and some quotes from authors-My children love shell silverstien... good luck I am sure you will come up with the perfect gift for her.
  6. My neighbor made these a few yrs back-she just put colored lights in hers then used big ribbon and tied it up around the block to look like a present....rabx5 yours are very unique I like them a lot. The angel feather ornaments are beautiful!

    Bratz Dolls

Thanks everyone a lot of GREAT points have been made. I bought dd a couple of the pj bratz-they look pretty tame and if she brings them to G'mas house maybe she wont get offended...I didnt go through a doll phase with my oldest dd-she was more of a tomboy and wanted athletic stuff, so when my daughter told me what G'ma said I had no idea anyone even thought they could be inappropriate, I do know unless you catch them on sale they are pretty darn exspensive!
  8. http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q54/georgienba/weirdpicsodtree010.jpg you can draw on the eyelashes and of course edit it to your liking, this is just what we did
  9. us too, well something similar -we made oraments out of them you get clear glass ornaments-remove the topper, spray paint or use brown craft paint(anything will do as long as its brown) the brown doesnt have to perfect then take white craft paint and a paint brush and literally shake the brush around the dried brown paint to make it look like snow speckles once that has dried glue on some googly eyes and paint some pink for cheeks and brown pipe cleaners attach to the topper for antlers and attach a red fuzzy nose, add some oatmeal(inside the ornament) and attach the same lil saying above and you have a cute lil gift, that everyone will enjoy for yrs to come... I will take a pic of it and post it just give me a sec...its really cute
  10. 12. Love the new pics you have added....such a BEAUTIFUL home!
  13. I can personally second the Aldi's ham-if there is one close-if not go for the inexpensive ham....you get a better price and the ham taste's no different from wal-mart or a butcher's shop....especially if you spice it up(which I dont) but my mom loves pineapple slices on hers and my bf likes a glaze on hers-me personally i go for the salty....
  14. Everyones trees are sooooo PRETTY! Please remember my tree is a hodge podge of this n that, but it works for us and we love it...Thanks for lettin me share... http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q54/georgienba/christmaspicsnewset007.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q54/georgienba/christmaspicsnewset004.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q54/georgienba/christmaspicsnewset005.jpg I sooooooo still need to wrap...on my list of things to do!!!!!
  15. I have a TON of wrapping to do~I planned on doing it this week before the children get out for Christmas break BUT I have candy cane grams to sell at the middle school all week and I still have a few more items left to buy-mainly teachers gifts, neighbors gifts and a few relatives...Hopefully by weeks end I will be done shopping and maybe I will do the wrapping when everyones gone to bed. For some reason this yr I just dont feel as prepared as i have in the past, maybe because I have actually been working outside the home(have run an in-home daycare for the last 5 yrs) but somehow it will all get done and the smiles on everyones faces when they open the "perfect" gift will all be worth it. I SO LOVE this time of year!
  16. Me 2...my son is really into the Axe and Tag stuff, my girls love the Goddess perfume by baby phat, and my mom, sil and mil like the passion and white diamond perfume I am hoping to really stock up for next yr.... Thats a GREAT idea about the make-up sets and B-day parties-I will hafta snag some of those this yr also. This is totally off topic But I was at our local Big Lots and they had Ellen Tracy perfume for $15 it retails for $68-I bought 6 bottles, for my sisters and friends for gifts this yr and a bottle for me
  17. we have done something similar to ms mckenna with working with our childrens hands but useing paints and those either rectangle or big oval lace paper place mats then decorating them, last yr we made santas face out of their hand-the fingers were his beard-we have done them with scrapbooking stickers and markers to decorate or write sayings an such once everything is dried and set we have them laminated and the grandparents use them as placemats each Christmas....I am not very crafty, so I cant wait to read and get ideas from this post.

  19. I am dealing with my own set of probs for this holiday season/very similar to yours....I so wish i could offer some words of advice but maybe after my pity party is over, i will be able to think more clearly and offer up an opinion.....I SO wish you a Happy Holiday Season regardless of whats happened or whats going on!
  20. Our walmart will have all thier holiday stuff at 50% off-which will make for fun perfume sets for $15 or less-my girls LOVE perfume(well at least thats what they have done in the past yrs-everything down the "holiday" isle will be 50% off) I wish I was in the know for other great deals-but.....maybe someone with an inside track will post....
