I have to agree with Jadedmomof2...a convertible carseat would be better. You generallly can use them from birth to 40lbs. I do like my travel system though.

TJMaxx has always so great ones. I would recommend getting one that is like a sack and has a slit for the buckle of the car seat to go threw....very convenient.
