  1. Even with the dollar slacking a bit, the lower tax and discounts more than make it worth the trip. Just waiting to see what i can score this year.
  2. Actually, thats what we do. We stay in Saratoga Springs. Usually head to Albany late in the day or on saturday to shop for left overs...lol
  3. Posted a thread like this last year for all us canuckleheads who head down for the craziness and deals. Where are from? Where are going? What are you looking for? I'm in Montreal and heading down to the Albany, NY area again this year. Only my 5th BF, but think i've got the hang of it now.
  4. I'd wager that come november. Not only will the price have not dropped, they'll be very hard to come by save for some being held back specifically for BF bundles.
  5. Thanks! Appreciate it. And have a great Thanksgiving.
  6. Nope not disapointed at all... We're making a weekend out of it... Won't just be BF shopping (although there will be a lot)... Besides even some items that aren't on sale will still be cheaper for us to buy so it'll be worth it.
  7. If you're planning on buying a laptop for next year. Usually in the spring or summer apple has a promotion where you get a free ipod with laptop purchase for students. Otherwise BF is as good a time as any as you are likely to get a free itunes card or case with your purchase. If you don't want the latest ipod apple sells refurbs on there site for significantly less.

Aeropostale is a bit shadey though... They'll have 50% off the price... but the change price tags... if it's $30, chances are it was $15 the week before.
  10. Trutech is Targets house brand. Made by Daewoo.
  11. I think the sears and target both have some really good deals. But in the end it all really depends what you're looking for.
  12. Not all the deals are bad... Just nothing mind blowing yet. Retailers seem to have caught on that it doesn't really matter how good the deals are. People will still come out and spend their money.
  13. As yummy mummy mentioned in her since deleted thread... the dollar is up again. The Loonie hit 1.10 in overnight trading... Extra 10% off for all Canadian shoppers.
  14. Glad to help Although. I'm heading down Eastern NY this year. But i know people who'll be helping out..lol
  15. Even better as of today we're getting almost a 6% discount on every purchase. $1.0571USD = $1CAD. Looking like the best black friday ever, at least for us.
  16. With the Canadian $ worth 1.03 US. This black friday is looking better and better!
  17. My vote is for the wooden thomas stuff as well. More durable and a much longer play time. Plus an added bonus is when/if your child outgrows it.. it's easy to sell to recoup some of your investment.
  18. We do too. Although we take nice long lunch and dinner breaks.
  19. Biggest tip i can give is prioritize... A lot of deals will be around all day, if not all weekend. Leave those for later in the day. Make sure you know what you'll have to be ready to snatch up. These boards will help with that.
  20. I have monitor envy. My two 24"s pale now
  21. You forgot you winking smiley face emoticons. Not cool to spout false info in a forum where clearly not everyone is tech savvy.
  22. < An ATSC tuner, often called an ATSC receiver or HDTV tuner, allows reception of ATSC digital television (DTV) signals broadcast over-the-air by TV stations in North America (and South Korea). Such tuners may be integrated into the television, VCR, digital video recorder, and set-top box which provides audio/video output-connectors of various types. > A stand alone tuner is good for those who have hd tvs with out an integrated tuner. It allows them to pull free over the air HD channels.
  23. Yup. Just booked a hotel form my trip. We turn it into a whole weekend.
  24. Canadians are able to bring back duty free: $50 after a period of 24 hours $400 after a period of 48 hours $750 after a period of 7 days After those amounts we have to pay duty and/or taxes on some but not all items. Groceries for example are almost always duty/tax free.
