  1. I haven't seen them do like a 20 person limit, but I have seen them stop people because the store population was near the fire code limit. I personally haven't seen a problem with this, but I am sure they exist.
  2. 26" or larger LCD for DH's Mancave. lol Zhu Zhu pets DD8 Barbie Dollhouse for DD8 Razor electric scooter for DD8 Washer & Dryer for MEEEEE!!!
  3. i was lucky enough to win one last year, in the "landmarks" contest. I wore mine proudly and I have put it in my closet to wear again this year. I got so many comments on it last year, people recognizing the site name. Quite the convo starter. Can't wait to play agian this year. (hopefully) wonder if different designs will come out?
  4. Just wondering who all participated in the awesome contests, put on by Gottadeal.com in 2008 for T-Shirts, etc? Did you win? What contest? I know a questionare was put out last year but what were/are some thoughts on possible contest(s) this year?
  5. I have regreted buying many things on BF just because they were "cheap", but I can tell you I bought a 42" Digital Lifestyles TV from newegg.com last year for 550.00 shipped and I have had less trouble with it than I did with the 499.00 RCA 52" that Walmart had a few years back. I was a little weary bc it didn't come with a warranty but it has turned out to be a great buy and one of the few I don't regret. (watch now it will break because I said something good about it)
  6. Does anyone know if any of Build a bear stores do anything for Black Friday? My daughter is big into BAB this year and not sure if I should buy early or wait to see if they have a BF sale.
  7. I posted this on another thread, but I always do Walmart later. The ones in our area, unless it is a tv, laptop, i.e. hot ticket item, they always have tons of that I need. The crowds are ridiculous at walmart first thing, I do my best to avoid that place for the first 20 minutes at all costs. I can see myself going to Target first this year, they always seem to have 1 or 2 things I have my eyes on. Although with Kohls opening at 4am it's so sweet, but it makes us rush back from the town that has the Tanger outlets opening at 12am- :)
  8. I doubt Im camping this year! Just taking my purse and wearing my AWESOME gottadeal.com T-shirt that I won last year!!! woo hoo!! CANT WAIT FOR BF.
  9. I don't think Wal-mart is completely at fault here, they really need to track down all of the people on that video that stepped on that poor guy and prosecute them for manslauter. Bunch of crap!! I never start out my BF at wal-mart, they price match and other than the large items they always have plenty of what I want so I go back later in the AM to get it. Since we have two walmarts if I want a large ticket item I go to the less used one, hardly no one there and some big ticket items last for an hour or more. I agree they need to learn to control their crowds better or use the ticket system like other stores. No one pushing or shoving then!! :)
  10. I would get there early, I have found they run out of certain types of toys fairly quickly especially the larger toys because they don't have as much room for them and don't stock as many. usually though if you are of the first group to get inside you should be fine.
  11. I got my daughter this one (not the barbie but they had the small ones 4 christmas' ago) The are the smaller ones, but we still have it and she weighs 50lbs now and is a very tall 7 year old and she can still play in it. I wouldn't buy it for a 6-7 year old but for a child who is 3-5 years old this would be perfect. It will hold me and I weigh 120. And ours still works after 4 years, but I would follow the battery directions to make sure it is a great investment. This costs 79.00 4 years ago. Not a bad buy that is for sure
  12. HA HA! I think Jesus was a cholocate lover too. Who isn't!?!?!
  13. I don't have a TRU....this stinks...but, I can price match with Walmart, so that helps a bit. I can only imagine what TRU is like on BF. Thanks Brad for helping with the WM ad. I wish they understood that this site helps them not hurts them, plus if they have crappy stuff like they did last year they are only hurting themselves. Either way, I appreciate all that you do and hope WM will ease up a bit in the next 96-120 hours.
  14. So Brad I know you say you have the WM ad and I understand you can't post until Monday at 12am BUT can you tell us if we will be happy or POED that we stayed up until Midnight waiting on the Ad to post? :) Also will you post that Eastern time?
  15. We always bake Jesus a birthday cake.......so Santa always gets that and the WONDERFUL, COLORFUL cookies that we made earlier in the night. (5 children all from 3-7, and 5 bags full of icing....not the prettiest site) but it's fun!! And carrots for the reindeer.
  16. so Question. I am debating getting a BR player (def sony) I know they are good, but for someone like me who watches movies MAYBE 10 times a year. Is it worth it? I am thinking no, and also am thinking by the time DVD gets wiped out, BR players will go for 50.00 or less. Comments? Suggestions?
  17. Sounds just like our party!!! although we don't have santa come anymore just bring gifts for the kids. And we all buy $10 in lottery tickets and then throw them in a basket and each draw 10$ in tickets. It's a lot of fun I love having a big family. Althoug, i don't want that many myself!! :)
  18. My grandparents had 11, then each of them had at least 2 most being 5, and by now we have all had 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 and even one with 5. Plus some have married into children so all together in 4 generations there are 187 of us. i love it during Christmas because we have a family Christmas party every year and I get to see those that I don't typically through the year get to see or talk to And this Sunday my grandparents are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary!! All the fam will be here for that also. It's really not as bad as it sounds.....we are pretty spread out! LOL
  19. Sorry to hear about your mother.......my prayers are with you and your family. congrats on the win. The day after Christmas there is a cruise to the bahamas for 299.00 per person (4 days ) you and a girlfriend go do that. I am sure that it is much needed after what you have been through. If you would like more info on the cruise I would be happy to get it for you. Friends of mine are going. she said it costs her about 500 per person after fees and taxes and such, plus you would have to get a passport and get yourself down to Miami (?) either way, it would be a great way to spend that 1K. good luck and God bless
  20. Good afternoon and welcome!! Glad to have you!! I would say definitely do it, she may remember it later you never know. I am 25 and remember things from when I was 2 and 3 from christmas..... I remember waking up in the middle of the night when I was two to find my mother putting the batteries in my Teddy Ruxben (sp?). LOL Anyway, children no matter how large or small will remember and absorb certain things. I wouldn't go crazy on gifts, but the whole Christmas spirit thing and teaching her about Jesus and it being his birthday is great for a two year old.
  21. I know it is tough, but you should really put back all year long this way you are not stuck in Jan playing catch up. With the way things are going these days it is hard to put anything back but it's even harder to live paycheck to paycheck. Just put down the cigarettes for a day each week, do pass up going to mcdonalds during the week, skip the Velveta shells and cheese and go to the walmart brand for a bit. Cut coupons, get on gottadeal to see what good deals are out there through the year. I know this year it's a little late, but I would def start doing it for next year. And remember if you can't buy that very special gift it's alright. Just remind your family what it Christmas is all about. It's to celebrate the birth of Christ and to be thankful that you can wake up to a tree with lights and a warm room and hug and kiss those that mean most to you. Some can't do that......cherish the Christmas season, and don't stress on how you will pay for it. Prayer is a very powerful thing. Relax and everything will work out just fine. Good luck
  22. I am still stuck on my grandparents....and what to get them. although I am LOVING the photo blanket idea. That is soooo neat. But there are 187 of us....and i am not sure how to get all of them together or even get the photos to fit on the blanket. Jen: This is a great idea.....then you could also get them some nice practical things also. I got MIL pampered chef this year. Their stoneware was on clearance so i got large round stone, small bar stone, small spatula, and 4pc micro cooker set for 55.00 shipped. good luck
  23. Oh I wouldn't have left the store!!!!! I would have told them to give me their managers home number. It would have been on!!!!! Plus.....isn't there usually a limit on those "hot ticket" items!!!???? Man, I would have spit nails! That gets my blood boiling and I wasn't even there. :) So glad you got your tv. I would seriously STILL call the store manager AND cooperate
