Walmart has the Galaxy Tab 2 now for $199.99 in store or online. On BF you can pick up a microsd card for $17.99 at BB for example. I think I saw it also someplace for $16.99 That would give you 40gb in the Galaxy Tab 2 not the Nexus. I just went to my Walmart and they had one left in stock and I can put it on layaway if I want. I spoke to my Son's friend who works at Walmart and he said he would buy it for me with his discount which would bring it down to the same price as BF. He also said if I wanted to wait and bring a BF flyer (since some of them have the Tab 2 not as a doorbuster I can get it for the BF pricematch and also his 10% discount. I am thinking also of doing the same with the Asus Transformer at OD, pricematch at Walmart since they have the 32gb there also.

I think that last years Asus and Acer that I got for DD and DS were the last tablets to have Adobe flash.

OK on my list I have all the Microsd cards on sale. Now I will remember to pick them up for the Tablets.

That is what I plan on doing too. My phone has 16gb and I have a 32gb card in it. I am noting where has the cards on sale BF to either order or purchase if I am in the store.

Thanks for responding. I am leaning towards the 15.6 inch screen since the memory is more. I am really nervous about getting another HP I have had 2 in this house and both have not lasted 2 years. We got DS a really GOOD laptop a few years ago, it was $1,000 clearanced to $700 because HP had changed the keyboard color. The motherboard went on it the September before it was 2 years old. We got it the beginning of November. The 2nd one was for me, I got on BF (not a doorbuster) and it also did not last 2 years, first my speakers went (I rarely used them to begin with) then the motherboard went also right around the 22 month mark. This time I plan of getting a SquareTrade warranty which will mean that nothing will happen with it and it will last a long time

noproblem. My Daughter14 has a Sony (she got it 2 years ago for her birthday) she loves is and uses it alot along with her phone. My Son now 16 got an Olympus about 4 years ago but never uses it. Prefers his phone.

I do recommend that you get one with rechargeable batteries. I find they take pictures faster than those with regular batteries. Just my opinion.

Samsung updates their products they just take longer to do it. Asus was one of the first manufacturers to update from Android 3.0 to 4.0 when it came out. Samsung updated their tablets before Acer did theirs. In regards to the SD card I would get a 16gb or 32gbb and put it in. Are you planning on keeping all your movies on your tablet. Once I watch something I delete off mine. My kids have a lot of video shot from their swim meets and DS has several movies and videos also on his. He still has a lot of room. He has a 16gb with a 16gb memory card in his. I am not sure how much space a 2 hour movie takes up. Will google it tomorrow. Hope that helps.

I did not know they have it at Walmart?? I wonder if I could get a friend who works there to buy it fo rme. That would be awesome. Walmart matches ads on BF right I wonder if they would match Office Depot or Sears (not doorbusters) and then have a friend pruchase for me... Just checked and my store has it in stock. I also checked BB and Office Depot and they have the Tab 2 for $199 also. BB is in Silver and Office Depot and Walmart are in Black. The one offered on BF at BB is white. Thinking I should get to Walmart tomorrow.

There are so many stores that have it Sears, Kmart Office Depot and Best Buy. I think BB and Kmart are doorbusters. I am sure one of the others will have it online. I am hoping for that also. Not camping out for only one item...

I really like the Galaxy Tab especially it has Android 4.0, 2 cameras and you can increase memory if needed. The price of $180 on BF is awesome for the 8gb. For another $20 you can get a sd card 16gb or more and put it in. One of the reasons I don't like the Kindle Fire is that it does not have full android, most apps are from Amazon (does have a fairly good selection) but I like being able to use the best of both worlds (reason I don't like Apple products). The Kindle Fire looks great and for the money its a great deal, I just prefer to have as many options available for me. I hope to get a Galaxy Tab on BF and also looking at getting the 10" Asus Transformer either the 16gb at BB or the 32gb at Office Depot. My DS16 has the previous model and raves about it. He originally wanted an Ipad but says the Asus blows the ipad away.

Thank you so much I really like the idea of starting a tool stash for my DS16. Had DH look at the Sears ad and we will be getting him a mechanics tool set and some screwdrivers to start him off. His Birthday is 4 days before Xmas so will look about getting him some other stuff from us and his Grandpa. He hopes to get a car next year so mechanics tools will work great for him. DH also likes buying tools so it makes him happy to pick out tools for him (and not buy for himself!!!)

I don't think so. It also only has a front facing camera no rear facing. Those are the reasons I won't get it. I use the rear facing camera a lot more than I would use a front facing camera and I also want the option to add memory card for more storage space even if I don't use it.

Nope did not help at all. You only got me thinking more...It will all depend on where I can order online. I don't have an OD near me so that is an online purchase, BB is about 45 minutes away so if I got it from them I hope I can order online. We do use alot of memory on the Tablets since I take them to my kids swim meets and video their races. Last year I took each of their tablets depending on whose meet I was going to. This year DD is joining Varsity so will be doing double the amount of recording at the Varsit meets plus she is still on Age Group which is another set of meets for her. They each have memory cards in their tablets so plan on doing the same whichever I get. Thanks deelite for making me think even more...my brain is hurting... lol I am going to bed to stop thinking.

So Staples, Sams Club, Office Depot, Kmart, Costco, & Best Buy have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch 8gb Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, ($229.00) have the Nexus 32gb 7 inch $249.99 Decisions decisions. I love the Nexus but you cannot increase memory so that is a big drawback, The Galaxy is very similar to the 10inch Tablets (Asus & Acer) my kids have so I think I am leaning towards the Samsung just for the 2 cameras and the microsd slots. Now just to see if I can get the one at BB (I really don't care whether its black or white since it will be in a case) maybe black would be better to hide fingermarks. I am also planning on getting the Asus from Office Depot for $299, It is only $20 more than the one at BB and is double the memory (and can also increase memory via microsd slot) The kids both have 16 gb with 16 gb memory card installed. OK I am TOTALLY CONFUSED!!!! LOL

What kind of battery life do you have. DS gets about 7/8 hours on his 10inch Asus. If you add the keyboard to it you get another I think 8/9 hours. Right now I use my cell phone to go online etc while out. Of course since I am getting on in age, the screen is just not big enough for me so I was looking for something to take with me when I go out to tether to my phone to go online etc. I love the 10 inch but the 7 inch would be for everyday stuff.

I think all you are seeing are 4th gens. I don't remember seeing any 5th gen with a deal on it, 16gb is only 4th gen. 32gb and 64gb are the options for the 5th gen.
