  1. Personally, if I truly wanted something, I'd keep checking here b/c many times you can find a deal just as good as BF and have a better chance of actually getting it- or get it at Amazon, since they keep many of their prices in-line with B&M stores around BF. Don't count on TRU or Target, they've cancelled on me several times.
  2. There are several sites that have these books listed already. My personal favorite is http://www.ereaderiq.com/free/ You can sort by genre, among other things, and you can block erotica if it's not your thing. http://blog.booksontheknob.org/p/kindle-free-reads-list.html is another. I subscribe to their emails and they list books free on nook, sony, and kindle. My concern with a free kindle book thread is that there can be 100s of new free books daily so that could really make a mess out of a thread. Not to mention some are repeats and some not suitable for the open forum. ETA: One other concern. Lately there have been "free" books for kindle that in actuality are only free to Prime members. That has been popping up quite a bit lately. I have also seen free books that are free for all for only about a day and then they are free only to prime members. Invariably someone will hit the Buy with 1 click button before they notice this.
  3. http://www.ereaderiq.com/free/ You can now sort by genre and it's updated every hour. I love this site.
  4. Kmart doesn't surprise me but Sears does. Hope they don't close ours.
  5. I wish everyone here at Gottadeal peace and joy this holiday season. Merry Christmas!
  6. There wasn't a lot of goodwill and line-neighbor helping line-neighbor this year. The biggest WM in my area had no security and the absolute worst layout I have ever seen. WM is fast becoming an online only experience.
  7. PJs, tv's, kodak printers, rubbermaid containers, lots of the kitchen stuff
  8. Went to Target, got there about 10:30 (We had Thanksgiving late because my mom had to work so I knew there would be a line) and saw the line going back behind the store so we decided to go across the street to Wal-Mart. Mistake! Had to park in Cracker Barrel's parking lot, people running all over the store and parking lot, no one knew where ANYTHING was and they didn't have half of the stuff in the ad. People were waiting around the pallets and pushing, no one could move, we got the heck out of there. It was one of those situations that was very uncomfortable, not usual BF stuff. No cops at this Wal-mart. Went back to Target and got in line. They were 4 deep zigzagged in the back. Security and employees were keeping things under control. Nice difference but decided I didn't need anything there that bad. Went to BB. They were lined out to the main road so we went across the street to Old Navy. Took a look at that line and decided to go to another Wal-mart. That one was better, and had security, but they didn't have hardly anything. I did get my son a phone there and got a router. Oh well, there's always next year.
  9. I'm stunned that Walmart didn't match a gift card for the ipods. They put their ad out so early I really was expecting something extra from them.
  10. I haven't seen as many gift cards offered this year, maybe the major retailers will offer some last minute. (And I can't imagine WM wouldn't match Target's)
  11. The DVD's were lightening deals in years past so you'll need to spend a lot of time on the computer. With the early openings of the B&M stores, I'm not sure what Amazon will be doing but they had some of the deals that the B&M stores had last year all during BF week, not just on Friday. I think the Ipod w/ gc was one. Anyway I would keep checking, especially next week. If they do have "doorbusters", just remember that they will come online 4 hours later. They should have a good tv deal. Another online store to check is Buy.com (you can use your Amazon account to check out through their store). I got a good deal a couple years ago on my son's tv.
  12. SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait until BF! Thank you!
  13. You could always tell the family that you need to run out for something and you'll be right back
  14. Amazon is pacific time, so you should have time to see if WM has the dvds you want. But I would check all BF week because Amazon usually has week-long deals on movies, etc.
  15. Bumper stickers Travel mugs Hoodies Fanny pack How about a Christmas ornament: "This Christmas brought to you by Gottadeal" (or something)
  16. 50% off Keurig? Those aren't gonna last long!
  17. Wow can't believe they posted the whole ad! I didn't see many gc's this year so maybe Wal-mart still has a few surprises for BF?
  18. The way the email I got was worded, I think they are going to reveal a few things at a time.
  19. I've been doing more and more of my shopping online so the times don't really bother me. I'll get my must-haves online again this year and then go out to the stores when I get ready. I enjoy the day much more, even if I do miss the adrenaline rush
  20. I would suggest the Kindle 3G in your case Johnny. The 3G is free and global, and the Kindle is great. It's not color though, if that makes a difference. It's $139 right now, or the Kindle Touch 3G is $149 (Just looked at Amazon jp and it's ¥ 21,299. Currency converter says that's 273USD!!!! Ack!)
  21. Ack, I posted this to Facebook too so I hope I'm not double dipping but: I like being part of the madness!
  22. My WM didn't have maps for the 12am sale so I missed a couple of things but no biggie. I liked it as I was able to get what I wanted (went in at 10) then lined up for the 12am checkout. It gives options imo: time to line up at other stores, go home to shop online or you can get what you want, put it in the car, and still have time to line up for the doorbusters (at least at my store).
