  1. Lot of great deals nut even though I got there right when they opened, my store had none of the xbox360 games in the ad except the rock band disc, ugh. I did luck out and find devil may cry 4 at walmart and after the manager called best buy they did the huge price match. I'm sure walmart will pull their stock for the week too which is what it seemed my best buy did. Anyone else have any better luck? I will say this for best buy though, the employees at mine are top notch and went out of their way to check all over to see if they had any in stock. I even tried a rain check for the few games pictured in the ad but they wouldn't do it. Oh well, a 360 for $10 is still good.
  2. Just picked up an onyx ds die $129 and change after tax. Not the best deal ever but the savings was like getting it tax free.
  3. If it is one of the ones in the stock room then the employee is right for telling you that you were not allowed back there. However, it does sound like you were treated rudely. I worked retail years ago and I would never treat a customer (or guests as Target likes to say) this way. Especially seeing you had young kids I go out of my way to get children into whatever bathroom is closest even if it was an employee only. Sorry you had a bad experience. I'd let a manager know the next time you were back. Who knows, they may even give you a discount on your next purchase for treating you bad.
  4. Same here, would've picked it up if it was just paying tax but doesn't look like a game worth $10.
  5. As a kid camera it is good without paying too much. The picture and video quality is much better than on the cameras designed just for kids like the vtech, fp, disney, etc. Its not mini dv quality but for most kids its good enough.
  6. It is showing regular price for me as well, rats.
  7. Just my two cents but the Wii has a lot of horrible games out right now on the cheap. Nintendo is really lax with quality standards for third party game makers. $10 may seem like a deal but if your kids never play it then its worth it to spend a little more to get a game they might enjoy. I'm not a huge Gamestop fan but the one by me has a decent selection of used Wii games. They are usually $5-$10 off the new price which isn't super great but the good part is you can usually exchange the game in a week for something new if your kids don't like it.
  8. Cheapest I've seen it. If you can't get a Wii getting this and a lot of games is a decent alternative. The Wii can use gamecube controllers for a lot of games and it will play GC games too.
  9. The no receipt, no return policy applies to everything, not just electronics. I don't like it but it seems all stores are doing it to reduce fraud. Just another case of a few bad apples ruining it for everyone. I'd call and speak with a manager to clarify this. They should at least do an exchange if something is defective. If your 45 day window is almost expired, maybe they could let you bring it back and then buy it again for you could get a fresh 45 days. I think if you explain the situation to a manager they would understand. I don't get the 45 day thing. Everywhere else is 90 days.
  10. No but it doesn't hurt to ask. Some times you get a manager who really wants to keep the customer happy so he/she may bend the rules. I wouldn't count on it though.
  11. Thanks for saving me the trip. I was debating on heading out myself but if its this long a line at Best Buy the night before, I'll pass on getting involved this year.
  12. Ah, I see. Well that kinda stinks. Usually they do the promo offer for a whole week. I'm glad I was able to get at least of few of the games we were planning to buy for Christmas while the sale was on.
  13. Usually means its sold out online. Occasionally they come back in stock but you just have to watch. I had them email me when it come back.
  14. I saw in the ad that Shrek 3 and Bee movie are both going to be half off on Friday morning. Can you still do the regular weekly promo in addition to the sale price? I could get three copies of Bee movie for the price of one and fill three present requests
  15. I did this last time they had the B2G1 deal with a ds game. I didn't plan to, its just kids changed their minds. It is easier if you can do it while the promo is still going but they did it for me the next week. The register won't ring up anything as free so they charged me a penny and then took it off of something else when I did an exchange for one of the games that was listed as the freebie. As far as someone else saying that they would only honor this thru 11/21 I don't understand why. If I give a game as a gift with a gift reciept would they not let that person exchange it because it happened to be one of the free ones I bought? I have one game that I probably will end up exchanging if I can this weekend but I don't see why TRU wouldn't honor it. With a receipt you should have 30 days for an exchange.
  16. I tried the price match at BB and CC but the managers in my area told me they don't match these type of offers. The two TRU stores that are within an 45 min (I'm not driving more than that) are each completely blown out. There are some old games but nothing popular. I got extremely lucky going in yesterday afternoon, I caught them just as they got in the afternoon delivery and was able to get Mario Galaxy, wahoo! They got in a grand total of 4 copies which is very surprising. I just happened to be walking by when one of the electronics guys was opening the new arrivals. I asked him if they had gotten Mario and he was nice enough to give me one to buy right out of the box. As soon as I walked up in line to buy it four people rushed over to the guy after they noticed what I had. It was a little bit of a crazy scene. I figured Monday afternoon wouldn't be that busy but there were a lot of people and it seemed like within a minute or two of me getting my copy of Mario, ten people showed up asking about games. They didn't have anything else I wanted like Lego Star Wars, Wii Play or Mario Sonic Olympics. They did have one copy of the Simpsons left behind the counter so I was able to get that and I bought Hanna Montana which was the only $50 game they had a million copies of so I'll try to exchange that for a game I really want later. I feel bad for the people who had to work electronics. They had just one person back there. A manager finally pulled some one off the front register to help in electronics. As I was paying, some people started complaining because one guy decided to buy the three remaining copies of Mario Galaxy himself when there was a mom who was practically pleading with the guy to let her buy one for her son. I was able to get out of there before anything got too heated but it just makes me shake my head. If things are this crazy now, I cant imagine Friday. My advice to any one is to check TRU in the afternoons around 12-2p EST which at least around here is when the delivery trucks for games come. Also, just because the shelves look empty, its always worth checking and asking if they have any more. I got really lucky, in addition to getting Mario Galaxy, the guy even gave me one of those coins you are supposed to get with the preorder. I guess they had an extra or something but that was really nice. Good luck out there to everyone still looking for Wii games. If this week so far is any indication, I don't think they are going to have any where near the supply to meet this weekends demand. Things could get ugly Friday and Saturday. One last thing and then I'll end this mile long post. You can get the B2G1 deal online but most of the games sold out Sunday. I signed up for a notification when they get back in stock and one of the games sent me an email overnight last night about it but by the time I got the message the game was already sold out again. Your best bet is to just keep checking.
  17. Well unfortunately it looks like Toys R Us decided to exclude pre-orders from the current promotion. Not only will I not be able to order Smash Bros. Brawl but I'll also have to wait until this weekend to get the new Cars game for Wii. I'm hoping to be able to buy it online Thursday because I won't be shopping on Black Friday and I'm going to try and avoid shopping this whole weekend if I can help it.
  18. I got to my TRU as soon as they opened and it was practically nothing left. They had some Bee Movie games, rayman rabbit, sonic rings, one copy of zelda, and a bunch of cheesy games. This is right when they opened. I drove 30 minutes to the next closest and was able to pick up Fire Emblem but thats about it. I hope they restock before Thursday as I dont want to fight the holiday crowds. I should've bought the games I wanted online but I hate to pay $5-$10 in shipping if theres a chance they have it in the store. By the time I got home yesterday several of the games I wanted were already temporarily unavailible online, blah.
  19. I don't know about all KB stores but the ones near me sell Wii games but not the newer games. Usually they only stock the cheap $20-$40 games that aren't worth it even if they are B1G1. Nintendo has gotten lazy about quality standards so chances are if you see a new game really cheap for ds or wii its because the game is not good. Id personally rather pay $50 for a really good game that is going to give hours of fun like a Mario or Zelda than spend $20 for two games that I will get bored with after ten minutes. Just my 2 cents.
  20. Like every other wii fan, I was pretty bummed to recently learn that we won't be getting this game for christmas. Right now TRUs web site is still listing it as shipping 12/3. They even have it with the current buy 2 get 1 free deal. Does anyone think its worth a shot of buying this online and see if they honor it in Feb? I know it won't go on sale like this again in Feb. Do you think TRU would honor it?
  21. Id kinda given up myself but when I saw them I didn't know if maybe a new shipment was being sent out. Thanks for the reply.
  22. I don't know if this is the right place to ask but I was wondering if any other gottadeal members have seen any Sonic the Hedgehog figures at their local Toys R Us stores. These figures were released about a year ago and occasionally they will pop up at a TRU or KB in the area. My niece and nephew are each looking for a specific figure, the one called Rouge to complete their collections. I was pretty excited because last week I saw Sonic figures back on the shelf for the first time in a long time but unfortunately they didn't have the particular figure we needed and neither did the other two TRU that were within 100 miles. I checked ebay but didn't see it there either. I found one on ebay months ago but the bidding started at $50 for a toy that retails for $5-$7 so I just couldn't see over paying that much. Any how, if anyone here can help I'd really appreciate it. I'm happy to pay for item price + shipping + a reasonable gas cost / finders fee / whatever you want to call it if anyone can help me. It would make me a hero for christmas to get this. Thanks. -Marc [email protected]

  24. Sale lasts through saturday so you have all week. They just did this a few weeks ago so I am surprised to see it again so quick but I appreciate it. I missed out on getting some christmas presents last time but this time I will be prepared. TRU's website list all the games that qualify and its plenty. Only noticables I see right off that arent part of the sale are pc games which is a little bit of a bummer but still great deals.
