  1. What was their hint, that there are more employees working in the store than there are customers shopping at the Kmarts here? I went in one of the Kmarts here a few days ago only because I couldn't find something at any other store & 2 employees were loudly arguing with each other by the entrance door and none of the other employees seemed to be bothered by it. One of the friends that I was BF shopping with wanted to run into Kmart before we went home so we went there at 8 am on BF and there was very few customers in there. Sears used to give out $10 off gift card / coupons to entice people to shop there, they didn't do any of that this year. I got Macy's coupons and JCPenney coupons in the mail, there were Bergners coupons in the paper, but where were the Sears coupons or incentives this year?
  2. The Santa Clause even though everyone else in my house is voting for Home Alone.
  3. mine expired sometime in the summer but we ate stuff after the expiration date and it was fine

  5. lol! I had saved up ECB's and earned a CVS giftcard and I bought one off plasticjungle so when I went BF shopping there I got a lot of stuff in 1 transaction and paid very little. The manager said that I had the longest receipt he had ever seen and that he should take a picture of it. Then I used a few of my ECB's that day to pick up a couple Christmas presents there. I used $30 worth of Walgreens RR's a couple weeks ago so my total came to under $2 and the lady behind me said "did everyone see that, her total was over $30 and she used coupons and only has to pay 2 dollars" and she clapped. lol! I wish that Walgreens and CVS had more things on sale in the last month that I could have rolled my ECB's and RR's but I used them all and got groceries (milk, eggs, juice, coffee, sugar...) so I guess that I will have to start over when they have products that earn them again. We need shampoo and conditioner so someone has to have a good sale soon! I have so many samples of shampoo & conditioner that I pulled a bunch out and we are going to use up some of those.
  6. Clean the house and wrap a few presents. Tonight I have to get the breakfast casseroles ready so I can just get up and put them in the oven in the morning so they cook while the kids are opening their presents. One is a egg & sausage casserole and the other is the pioneer woman's baked french toast.
  7. My almost $32 in CVS ECB's left from Black Friday expire tomorrow so I went there today and did some grocery shopping to use them up since there haven't been too many good ECB deals lately. I got stuff that we use that I usually get from the grocery store, it was nice coming home with bags of groceries and only spending $1.85!
  8. I had a big brick of soap left over from a long time ago so the kids and I made red & green bars of soap, I made chocolate coffee cookies yesterday & I just made fudge. Will probably make more cookies tonight.
  9. We just did a fundraiser for my daughters team that was being delivered to my house. The Fed Ex truck rings my doorbell and then runs back into his truck, I open the door and there's a TV box outside my door from Walmart and I was thinking that I didn't order a TV and my son would tell me if he had a TV shipped to my house... I looked at the shipping label and saw that it wasn't anyone that I knew and the street wasn't even around here so I ran to the truck and luckily he hadn't left, he was scanning and organizing the packages in his truck. The fundraiser box was probably worth more than the TV!
  10. My daughter makes things out of duct tape too and sells them on the bus! She makes purses, wallets and hair bows. I got her a box filled with a roll of every color duct tape that Michales carries for Christmas.
  11. I found some more ice skate ornaments (70% off!) at Kohls last night.
  12. I googled and must have read 20+ recipes and they were all different so I wasn't afraid to play with the recipe a little. Some recipes started with coffee and some started with water and some with espresso. Some said to use cheap vodka and some said to use expensive. Some had vanilla beans and some just had vanilla extract. The sugar to water / liquid ratio varied with the recipes too. Some used a different alcohol base. I made really strong coffee and used 2 cups of the coffee in place of the water and then I added 7 Taster's Choice individual cup packets to the coffee (not sure how much this would measure out to be). I bought the cheapest 1.75 liter bottle of vodka Sams Club had, and I didn't have vanilla beans so I didn't put any in. I tried a sip of it last night and you could taste the vodka but it had a really good flavor, I think once it sits for a few weeks the flavors will blend together nicely, but I don't think it will be as thick as Kahlua. I poured it into canning jars because I'm going to give a couple of them out for gifts, it made exactly 6 pints. I made jam this summer and am going to make a couple baskets with the Kahlua, jam, Christmas cookies and anything else that I come up with this week. I'm trying to find a recipe for dog treats that has ingredients that I already have around the house.
  13. Today I made: Kahlua, I used this recipe with a couple minor alterations http://www.ehow.com/how_2069432_make-kahlua.html I've wanted to try it ever since someone on here posted about it earlier this year 2 batches no-flour peanut butter cookies, instead of a hershey kiss in the center I added chocolate chips and made pb choc chip cookies and chocolates, I melted a brick of vanilla (white) chocolate bark and smashed up a couple candy canes and mixed them in and poured it into candy molds
  14. My daughter is a competitive ice skater, my son isn't so pleased about the theme of our tree this year. I will have to eventually do a sports themed tree to make up for it.
  15. I saw that coat & it's a great price, but we have a house full of Sox fans here.

  17. 1 - The Santa Claus 2 - Home Alone (I don't think that I have ever seen Mickey's A Christmas Carol ??)
  18. I told the kids we are baking christmas cookies or doing Christmas crafts every day next week.
  19. First year for the white tree. I got the ice skater ornaments on clearance last year & went to 6 stores yesterday to find the plain silver balls, they had every color except silver. Not sure if we need more ornaments or not. My son is not thrilled with the ice skating theme of the tree this year.
  20. My daughter that is turning 11 next week just noticed that her Christmas stocking says 1999, she was born in 2000, I said that I got it before she was born, she said "OK". lol
