  1. Someone tried to take a TV out of my hands. It was about 10 years ago, Best Buy wasn't crazy like it is now, you could go there early on BF and get a decent place in line. I grabbed the last combo TV/VCR and had it in my hands and a man ran up and said, "that's mine" and tried to grab it out of my hands. I said, "no it isn't" and didn't let go of it. He walked away. The store was packed and the checkout lines weren't organized like they are now, and I had to carry it on my head because there wasn't room to carry it in front of me and walk through the store. It was the last time I went to Best Buy on BF. Last year there were a lot of very young children walking around the mall all night long, at like 2 & 3 in the morning. Lots of babies & crying and kids just walking around the mall in the middle of the night. My kids are begging me to take them with this year, they are 13 & 11...
  2. Black Friday shopping Got the ads ahead of time Thanks to GottaDeal
  3. Just pick up a card when you go into the store. Last week they were still giving you the discounted price without the card, but not sure how long that will last for.
  4. Does anybody know if it tracks your Register Rewards? So if you go to one store and get back Register Rewards, can you go to another store and get more rewards for the same item or does it track them and limit you to one per person? Just wondering if I need to have my husband get a card too or not...
  5. Sprint couldn't pay me to be on their network! I don't know anyone that didn't regret switching to Sprint, but I do hope Verizon matches that price. We have 1 phone that already has a upgrade available, 2 more that will have an upgrade available the beginning of November and are looking into getting a 4th line.
  6. The picture changes, you can get a sample of cat food, dog food and dog treats. You just have to wait for the picture to change and click on each one. http://instoresnow.walmart.com/enhancedRenderContent_ektid120297.aspx#/home/1
  7. I went Saturday and there was still a lot of back to school stuff, most of it 70% off but some was still 30% (and I scanned and checked) and I went yesterday morning and it was all gone, even the 30% off. I checked the entire store, every endcap and it was all gone
  8. I stopped going to Kohls when they changed their clearance pricing. I've been there once in the last year, and I used to shop at Kohls all the time. You get tired of all their sales & the changing around the prices all the time (lowest prices of the season, then lowest prices of the year...) It got to be too much work figuring out if it was a better price this week or last.
  9. Did Barnes & Noble stop their Free Fridays? I haven't been able to find it for a while now.
  10. great score!
  11. Flannel was $3.24 & fleece was $3.74. I kept going back and forth before Christmas about getting my daughter that guitar-playing t-shirt and ended up not getting it for her for Christmas. Glad I waited because I got it for $2.48! I got my husband and son a bunch of t's for $1.49.
  12. Scored big time!! Got: 7 flannel & fleece pj bottoms, they only had small and medium left, after digging twice I finally found a large one for myself but it was the only one 4 pairs slipper booties 4 3-packs of mens socks 10 men's t-shirts & long sleeved shirts, most of them were Bears shirts and a pair of women's boots I only paid just over $30 because of my Old Navy Bucks! Can't wait for the kids clearance to be extra % off clearance too, but used up all my bucks today. I think I will go back tomorrow and see if I can find anything else.
  13. Just saw the email too. I have $50 Old Navy Bucks saved up!
  14. I open packages and check in the store too when possible, I hate having to go back to the store and say that something was missing out of the box. Good thing you checked before you wrapped it!

  16. I found Jello No-Bake Cheesecake mix for $0.79 today, I think that's 75% off. I was walking out of the store and saw that a woman was buying 5 of them so I looked at the register and saw how much they were ringing up for. The shelf tag said they were only half off. They were with all of that baking powder and canned pumpkin and stuff that's been on clearance forever, but has never gone to 75% off. I had a cashier scan a couple of the other items and only the Jello Cheesecake was 75% off. I went to another Walgreens (not for more cheesecake mix) and checked and that store didn't even have any of it on clearance at all.
  17. There are threads in the freebies forum for free kindle & nook books.
  18. I keep all Christmas and birthday present packaging for at least a month, even little $5 items, until I'm sure that everything works and there are no missing pieces and they work more than once... Then I throw out all the little plastic packaging and cheaper items boxes and keep the more expensive & electronic items boxes. I even do it for non-toy items, like a vacuum cleaner, for the house. Too many times something works for 4 months and then stops working, or something says that it has a 1 year warranty and then only works for 9 months. Stores are way more likely to return or exchange things if you still have the box. If you have the box they at least have a UPC code to scan & even if you don't get all of your money back, you get a store credit & that's better than nothing even if it's not the full amount you paid for it. I save all packaging that says "lifetime warranty" (even for little cheap kitchen gadgets) and have called companies and they will replace your items if they don't work.
  19. And saving all receipts! I also save all expensive items boxes, before Christmas I go through and throw out the ones from last year. A store is more likely to exchange an item and not question it if you have the original box. And it doesn't take up as much room as you think, you put all the smaller item boxes in the bigger item boxes. Some places must be more strict on the rules, I've exchanged things after the return by dates and as long as they see that you have the receipt and didn't buy it 2 years ago and aren't asking for cash back I don't usually have problems here. If you have a receipt here they usually just return or exchange the item without questioning it. And never call a store first and ask. All stores can bend the rules and override things on their registers and allow things or get things to go through.

  21. You either have to send it to Nintendo and wait, or pay Target the $50 and have a working electronic or have a broken $100 toy that doesn't work in your house. If Nintendo told you 4-6 weeks that is the worse case scenario, there is a chance that it won't take that long. If they scan the serial number then she wouldn't be able to return it at Walmart or ToysRUs, I don't think they do. You could try to buy another one and return the broken one, tell them that it's broken though and just ask for your money back instead of an exchange. I don't know how that works with returns, is it per person or per household? Can your husband / significant other return it for you? Or if you use them up at one Walmart, is it per store or for all Walmarts, can you just go to another Walmart? You've used up your returns at Target, Toys R Us, AND Walmart?
  22. I'm highly allergic to Christmas / Pine trees and I can't go in their store from mid November through January, my nose starts itching when I walk past the store at the mall. I thought I was safe and went in there last week and had to leave because I couldn't stop sneezing and itching... I was looking online yesterday and a lot of their Christmas scents have some kind of pine or balsam.. scent in them. I thought I was safe if I stayed away from the obvious Christmas tree scents but almost ordered a "tis the season" wallflower refill last night but it says it smells like pine needles among other things. (I think it's weird that I'm allergic to the smell of something!)
  23. thanks, I didn't even know that I had any, glad I checked. didn't they used to mail them to you or send you an email or something?
  24. Some stores, not sure if Target is included, extend their normal 30 day return policy or "relax" their no receipt rules after Christmas. Seems to me a DS lite is something they normally carry and should get back in stock soon. I'd go in and never mention that I called and just say that your son got it for Christmas and it doesn't work and ask if they can exchange it, if they won't then go to another Target & try. Isn't Target one of the stores that can look up your receipts for you if you paid with any credit card or a check?
  25. That list price is a little high, but they work well.
