  1. OK, I'm back......Mom did NOT have a receipt, it was a gift from an out of state friend. They told her the exchange item had to be EXACTLY the same price. She even requested a store credit so she could come back at another time to use it. They would not do it. Dad DID have the receipt. He bought the shoes the day before himself. He DID talk to a manager, he requested one as soon as he realized he would get no where with the CS clerk. She was in tears because he asked for a manager. I was not BOASTING about this fact, merely relating it. Dad is a reasonable OLD man. ALL he wanted to do was get the SAME shoes a size bigger. Why would that be so hard???? I was not asking or looking for 'sympathy' here. I was, again, merely relating a situation. BTW, the Kohl's I am talking about is in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Nice small college town. The only time I see a smile at my Kohl's store is when they are trying to get you to sign up for the credit card. There is never anyone in the Dept.'s to ask for help. Seems the only employees on duty are on a register or at the CS counter. I nevger see anyone stocking or straightening shelves. Maybe my store is struggling and good help is hard to find and keep?? Maybe my store is the exception rather than the rule of most other Kohl's stores? I don't know...
  2. I ordered a magazine subscription through Mags$Cheap using Google Check out. I got the $10 off deal and the sub. was $2.97. My CC was charged and Mags sent me a confirmation email 3 times telling me it was processed and sent to the publisher. Then, 2 weeks later, I get my CC bill and see the $2.97 charge and then, a few days later a $2.97 credit!! No explanation from Google or Mags. So, I do not know if I will get the sub. or not??? Big hassle to pursue and since I am not out any money (at least not YET) I will let it drop. I do not need the stress.
  3. We opted out of the "gift exchange" this year for the first time. Instead, we just all got together, ate too much and enjoyed each other's company. No muss, no fuss, no stress, no crowded stores and parking lots to manuever, no returns of unwanted or wrong sized gifts, no wrapping, no bitchy clerks, no wondering what to get the hard to buy for ones, and hundreds of dollars saved. I honestly think it was the best Christmas we have all had in a LONG time!! We all got to enjoy all of it. One side note, there are NO kids in any of our families, that would make a difference for some of you.
  4. Returning ANYTHING at my Kohl's is nearly impossible. Mom got a sweater from an out-of-state friend once. Too small. Tried to return, no receipt. Kohl's made her exchange for another item of the EXACT same price. Meaning...sweater was $19.99, she was not allowed to exchange for above that amount and pay the difference. She wanted a $22.99 sweater and more than willing to pay the difference. NO GO!!! Also, she tried to exchange for a $18.99 sweater and was going to give up the dollar. NO GO!! Dad got shoes once. Wrong size. Wanted to exchange for different size the very NEXT day. Even exchange, EXACT item, just a diff. size. They thought they were going to make him pay $10 more because the sale of the previous day was over!!!! He had a fight on his hands and ended up having the CS chick in tears. Dad is a nice, calm, reasonable person, but this policy got the best of him. He finally got the shoes, but the manager on duty told him "just this once" Like it ws against the usual store policy! WTF?????? Kohl's is great for bargains, but don't buy unless you are SURE you will not need to return.
  5. It also makes more "sense" too! LOL Thanks to everyone for the answers.
  6. http://shop.avon.com/shop/promotions_list.asp?couponCode=&promo_id=9883 Any items on this page are just 2 for $4.00
  7. OMG!!!!! I just saw the magic pen/calculator set that Office Depot is selling for 66 cents at Avon for $9.99!!!!
  8. Went to my Target today (Waterloo, Iowa) Still a good selection, BUT, only 50% off. Some clothes and gift-type stuff at 30%.
  9. Let's not forget the Younker's $10 off $10 coupon in today's (Monday's) newspaper insert. It is good from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  10. HEY!! I think we have the SAME WM!! haha That description fits mine exactly. Add in a messed up, nightmare of a parking lot and I'd swear you were in Iowa. Hmmm...right down to the Target being across the highway.........
  11. Took 12 days to get my order. According to account status page, my package languished around in Utah for the first 5 days...
  12. I don't see "secret deals" on the home page and searching "secret deals" turns up nothing.
  13. I do not have a "card" BUT, I got a coupon card in the mail at the beginning of the month. Three coupons total, 1st one was $5.00 off $10.00 and the other 2 were $10.00 off $20.00. The expiration dates were the Sundays in December, one each. I have had a blast picking up stuff at 1/2 price all month! I am thinking the only reason we got these in our area is cuz CVS bought all of our Osco's and they want your business.
  14. I checked a couple of fragrances that I KNEW the prices of and you can get a better deal on ebay. Even considering the $10 coupon.
  15. Here's my 2 cents worth. First, I live in IOWA (best beef in the world) and second, I am a MEATCUTTER by profession. Yeah, I know, A "girl" meatcutter, call me weird. Anyway, I had Omaha Steaks (Porterhouse) sent to me as a gift once and I found them to be FATTY and maybe Select grade by USDA standards. Most supermarkets offer at least Choice grade and any with a "Specialty Meats" counter will have Choice to Prime grade. Go to your local store and look for the cuts offered in this "deal" I think you would find a very competitive price by putting the package together yourself. Make sure to add in the 15 bucks shipping to the "deal" price. Just my opinion....
  16. OK, call me an idiot, but what the heck does it mean when someone simply posts "bump" in a thread????
  17. 3 days? 10 days? 2 weeks? Ha! Try 30 days. I have professional tumblers in 3 sizes. There are 4 steps, each needing to be run for 7 days. Then, at the end of the 30 days, you MIGHT have to run a burnishing step for 2-3 more days. This is NOT the hobby for the impatient. This little tumbler is basically plastic junk. OK for 10 bucks, I guess. But, I would not expect it to last long...........
  18. Buggy???? What is that?
  19. I think their customer service phones are answered in India????? English is NOT their first language, anyway.
  20. People are cleaning up with these on ebay. Selling for 20 bucks on up. Wish I had a hundred of them at 9 bucks! Anyway, if you still really want these, check out ebay...
  21. Yet another frustrating phone call to 1-800-go-depot......Get an operator who's first language is NOT English. She wants to set me up with an account. I say "let's see if you even have these items in stock, first" Digital key chain, she says yes, so I waste the time go set up an account. THEN, she re-checks the item # and says "Oh, sorry, this item is not available" So, I check the item # for the $3.50 car air compressor. Discontinued.....She also tells me there is a $7.95 shipping fee for orders under $50. I tell her the web site says FREE shipping. She tells me about the shipping policy......$7.95 under $50. I have tried 'til I am blue in the face with this company and gotten NO WHERE!!! I give up.
  22. Found it, tried to add to cart, got the ol' "Item discontinued" taht I am so very used to at OD's site lately!! GRRRRR:mad:
