  1. Geez, I just turned fifty this week...think I'll have to pass on these, lol.
  2. Ok, I want to come to your house for Christmas Eve. For Thanksgiving I did the traditional southern meal...turkey, ham, chicken with dressing, pecan pie, greenbean casserole etc...I'm in the mood for something completely different for Christmas!
  3. I understand about the holiday blues...I get them too. This is the way I fight them. It may seem a little weird, but it'll help, I promise. When nobody else is around, crank up the stereo with your most favorite, upbeat music (avoid slow moody ballads like the plague). You want something fast and swingy. Now, DANCE like crazy...you will feel pretty strange at first, but after a few minutes you'll get endorphins going and you'll be surprised how much your mood will lift. Dance a couple of songs everyday...only takes about ten minutes and it's better than antidepressants. Give it a try. :banana01::banana01::banana01:
  4. Very cute pink and green plaid comforter set by Nautica. They call this a "mini" because there's no dust ruffle. There is a queen size available too, but it's not on sale (price is $65). Description: Woven preppy plaid in fun pinks and greens Comforter: 90" x 70" 1 Sham: 26" x 20" 100% cotton, machine washable Imported http://www.amazon.com/Nautica-Greenville-Twin-Comforter-Mini/dp/B000Y1BKIG/ref=br_lf_m_1000234301_1_23_ttl?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=kitchen&pf_rd_p=401114101&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000234301&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0BMD71ETHXZS957YCNJA
  5. Not sure if this is where I should post this. My "local" Target is 30 miles away, so I don't get there much, and don't post much related to their deals. Did a search and didn't see it listed here: Target $1 off O-Cel-O Expressions Cleaning Product (sponges, etc, in bright colors): http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/page.jsp?title=coupon_ocelo Expires 4/30/08 Manufacturer's coupons for possible stacking: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/O-Cel-O_US/Home/Related/Coupons/
  6. Oops, sorry, did a search but I didn't find it. I don't shop Target often...nearest is 30 miles from me.
  7. Was playing the HGTV Dream House sweeps this morning and following a banner to this coupon: http://sites.target.com/site/en/supertarget/coupons.jsp?val=global_bazaar Expires: 1/26/08
  8. Lol, I am waiting on a ton of them...mostly grocery type rebates from beer companies. I live in one of the states that has the loophole that you don't have to buy alcohol to do the rebates. What I've gotten back so far is $8 for spending minimum of $8 on pizza....$15 for spending $40 for regular grocery items (snacks, soda, etc.), and just got $20 Mastercard debit card for buying $40 worth of gas (any station)...all offered by beer companies. Am waiting for rebates on ham, turkey, and a deli platter. I pretty much stick to grocery/beer/wine type rebates because I've had good luck with those. I try to stay away from electronics rebates...too unreliable. Also had good luck with Bed, Bath, Beyond and Rite Aid rebates too.
  9. I belong to quite a few boards, but only post on maybe three. Gottadeal is my favorite and I try to visit it daily because it's so friendly. If I find a coupon, etc., I come straight here to post. We may have the occasional "thread crapper" but the majority of the posters here are very supportive and positive...that comes down to having great mods who discourage negativity, I believe.
  10. Thank you for the tip. I've never used these, so I'll try that variety!
  11. I have a friend who has actually danced with him AND Tony at a dance workshop she attended! She said they are a blast, and cuter in person.
  12. Last year I did Walmart, but this year we have a Target right across from it, so I'm going to try to hit both of them, then Ulta, Kohls, and a few other stores that are in the same mall. Did really well last year...bought a ton of bath and perfume sets at Walmart for gifts for this year. Sure hope I find some bargains this time around too!
  13. Yesterday I posted a printable coupon in the Coupon forum for $2 off (2) ANY Energizer products. And I found some tearpads at Winn Dixie for $2 off (1) package Energizer Max...stacked well with the CVS $5 coupon (which expired on the 23rd) so I used them together.
  14. We went yesterday (12/21), and they had ALL live Christmas trees for $5....I just read on another website where someone had posted they were $1 today. Had some nice looking Frasier firs yesterday.
  15. Do you have a nearby CVS? You might want to read this: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=94726
  16. I did this when I was 12 and have never done it again since. Not because my mom found out, like you did (or if she did she never mentioned it), but because I found out on Christmas day that I'd robbed myself of one of the best parts of the holiday. That surprise you get opening presents can't be beat, and I sat there feeling kind of empty. 'Course I couldn't tell anyone what I'd done...but I sure learned my lesson!
  17. Good for you. I have the most terrific husband in the world (we've been married 27 years on Dec. 20 and the only thing I'd do different is marry him faster...I almost said "no"!) but he is a very practical man. That's wonderful the rest of the year, but at Christmas I don't really want anything I "need". I want to be indulged. She wants "pretties"....that's why she wanted the spa certificates, cosmetics, etc. Give her presents like that, and this is what you'll get:
  18. Ok, now that sounds GOOD! Guess that's what I'll be trying on my next Starbucks stop. Thanks!

  20. Another rebate you could stack..just saw on another site. Pepsi-Frito Lay Super Bowl XLII Rebate Get $15 NFL.com or $15 in Coupons with purchase Pepsi/Frito Lays products. Don't know the particulars except you need an original form which I don't have. Post says they may be at Rite Aid and should be lots of places soon. So, if you do the Target gc deal, save your receipts!
  21. Excellent info, thank you very much! Have visited Destin a gazillion types, though we had a trailer near there so didn't have to book a room, but still... great info that I will remember in the future.
  22. There are as many sales online as in the stores, only you may have to be quicker to get them. I get better deals after Christmas than any other time. I make out a list of things to get for next Christmas so I don't impulse buy. Things like giftsets for teachers, Christmas decorations that need to be replaced...I also get snacks, coffee or tea samplers, etc. to use during the year at home. Got a great deal on those really big fat scented candles at Walmart. They are $10 normally. Some of them were red or green, but they also had "sugar cookie" in off white, so I bought five of those for a couple of dollars each. I used them all year long, especially in the summer when we lose electricity due to thunderstorms. You can get some great deals on perfume sets too. This is the only time of year I buy those for myself and I have saved 75% a lot of times. PS: Another thing I buy at after Christmas sales to use year round is replacement bulbs to go in nightlights. Dollar Tree can have a pack of those as low as ten cents. They sell them to go in those electric candles everybody puts in the window. It's not a big ticket item at any time, but it's still money saved.
  23. Depends also on what you're using it for, and what part of the country. I bought a twinsize lightweight down comforter on Amazon back in the summer for my daughter's room. Paid $17 and change. It's not a heavy comforter, but it's working great for here in Alabama where we only get down into the 20's a few days each year.
