  1. That's nice! I am hoping that since it's cold up there, light clothes might be cheaper...
  2. Yeah, it's gonna be my first BF too. I just can't wait!!! I've never bought any american newspapers... that's weird, cause I always buy magazines for my vocabulary improvement. I am fluent in English, but it's not my mother language, so... gotta study. And there's nothing better to study than magazines and newspapers. And of course, talking to native speakers. Another question: will I be able to find light clothes, or only winter clothes? Maybe some sleevless tops or camis... that's what I need most.
  3. I've never bought a newspaper in the US... I am always so immersed in the Disney fun... I think it will be interesting.
  4. That's sooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!! I think my daughter would love it!!!
  5. Well, I doubt that the desktop will be sold at this price with no rebates... If it is, I 'll camp out in front of BB since 11 PM!!!! The laptop is almost the same price as Walmart, so maybe it won't have rebates. I hate rebates too, and they are impossible to me because I am not American, and they don't send rebates to Brazil.
  6. Ok, so I'll try to buy the newspaper there on Thanksgiving, to try to get coupons...
  7. I just want clothes.... but I need the laptop at Walmart. I'll go to JCPenney right after Walmart.
  8. Do you think if I go to JCPenney after Walmart (I'll go to Walmart the day before, around 11, as I need 2 laptops), I'll still get good deals on clothes?
  9. Do you guys know if this MP3 player has a voice recorder? Or do you know any other ones with voice recorder and a good price?
  10. I am sorry, but I am kinda confused... Will CompUSA have this price on BF??
  11. That's what we have every year!!! Cold ham, sometimes cold turkey... 90% of the food we have is cold. And oh, not hot drinks... no hot cocoa... very few people eat marshmallows here (they are kinda expensive), and nobody puts them into hot coca. But the interesting thing is that every xmas picture here has snow. Many people put fake snow (or cotton) on their xmas trees. And decorations are the same, stockings, snowmen, candy canes... Even if we don't have these things here. I would like to have a white christmas once, I've never seen snow...
  12. Yummmm..... I want Christmas Candy now!!!!!! Hmm... not really now... Well, two weeks to go....
  13. Come live in Rio de Janeiro, then... At Christmas Eve, everyone is normally suntanned (or burned, in my case...), and wearing tops, shorts, light dresses... Sometimes, even at night pants are unbearable, only shorts and skirts. And we have ice-cream at Christmas supper!
  14. I would really love to be able to hang chocolate decorations and candy canes on my tree... But it's so hot here, they melt. So now we just give them as little gifts to friends, and of course, I bring lots of them for myself, to get me in the spirit!
  15. Cool! I am already teaching her how Santa leaves little gifts in the stockings, and people are starting to think I am really nuts, as we just don't have this tradition here. I just don't know where to hang the stockings... No fireplace, no wooden window frames... Any ideas?
  16. Sorry, but the foreigner is confused.... What's "jammies"?
  17. LOL That would be my wrapping!!!!!
  18. When I go to the US on Christmas time, I try to buy all kinds of holiday stuff: M&M's, cookies, chocolate, cereal... We don't have anything of the kind here, so it's a cheap and nice gift for my friends and family.
  19. Christmas Eve is the day when we celebrate Christmas here, Dec 25th already has that after Christmas feeling... So, we have everything: Xmas supper, gift exchanges (usually at midnight), we try to visit relatives too. Only Santa gifts are open the following morning. (in some houses, Santa comes on Christmas Eve, while the children are doing something else, or visiting relatives and friends)
  20. 2 year-old DD wants dolls, DVDs and anything Barney...
  21. Do you think I can still find stockings to buy when I go up there for Thanksgiving? Maybe I could try to start the stocking tradition in my family, even if it's just with my daughter... I feel like buying stocking stuffers...
  22. Yeah, me too! I am bringing my daugther's gifts from the USA, and i know i'll feel like giving them all to her as soon as I get back here! I think I'll buy some extra stuff, just to give her in advance!
