  1. Thanks for the explanation, Amie! My aunt said we will carry only one fanny pack, and we'll put the passports in the hiden body wallets. And walkie-talkies to communicate, as we are going to split up and then meet again.
  2. Sorry, but the foreigner is confused... LOL What's "Perimeter Perusing"???
  3. Thanks a lot for the advice, Gator Pam!!! Do you think it will help if I go there before BF, to know the place, and know where the tiems will be? Then on BF, I go to one floor, my aunt goes to the other, and we try to go straight to the items we want. I'll walk around Sawgrass too, and see if it's worth staying there for the rest of the day, or maybe trying to go to Walmart after BrandsMart... Maybe if I can be one of the first ones in line at BrandsMart, I can go to Walmart and still get something. I think there's a K-Mart there at Sawgrass Mills, so maybe it would be better to go there, as it's closer, yeah? Or do you think Walmart items will last a bit longer?
  4. That's a good idea!!! My aunt said she's not afraid of the crowds, that she faces crowded subways and buses in Rio de Janeiro every day, and there's nothing more dangerous than that! Well, that's true, here our parents teach us how to keep our purses from getting stolen on the bus, and what to do in case of mugging... But I was never in the middle of such situations with my passport and visa. But the body wallet is a great idea, thanks! PS: The foreigner is officially confused... genoandkiddo, what's a "chapstick"?
  5. I won't have to drive anymore, we decided to spend Thanksgiving in Ft Lauderdale. So, that means I'll be in line even earlier!!!!! I think I'll go there on the 23rd, to know the placee, not to get that lost on BF. What do you guys think?
  6. I've never been stopped by an immigration officer, but you never know. And an American visa is a precious thing. If they ask you, and you don't have it, if they deport you, your visa is cancelled. I wouldn't risk it for anything. (well, except for my baby, I guess...)
  7. Well, I think it offers a secure safe. It's a Days Inn, but I don't know the address... The point is that all foreigners have to walk around with original passports. If immigration officers ask, you have to show it, or you can be deported. So, leaving the passport is not the problem, I was worried about having to take it. But I really think no immigration officer will show up in the middle of BrandsMart on BF to check if there is a foreigner in there... Well, thanks anyway!!!:)
  8. I'll have to carry a purse, my passport is too big to fit my pockets, and I am afraid of losing it. Well, maybe I could carry a copy of it, I really don't think immigration officers will check tourists passports in the middle of BF mess... But anyway... Maybe a small backpack hanging on the front would be nice, yeah? This way I could keep an eye on it, and would still have my hands free.
  9. Man, that would be a dream come true...
  10. That's interesting! I like Target a lot!!!
  11. I've already booked a hotel room in Ft Lauderdale for Thanksgiving and BF... But this price matching thing is interesting... So I can buy things in advance, and then get the difference back in cash??? Why didn't you like BrandsMart at Sawgrass Mills? What happened? My aunt is dying to go there, and I don't think I can convince her to give up now. How about shopping at Sawgrass Mills? Is it worth going there after BrandsMart?
  12. My daughter is a huge Barney fan, and things here are too expensive because they're imported from the USA... So I'll try to bring her some Barney toys.
  13. Man, I am really anxious about it too, as it's gonna be my first BF!!! When I tell people here I'm going to shop on BF, I gotta explain them everything, as most of them don't even know what Thanksgiving is... And of course, there comes the question: "If I give you some money, could you bring me something?":lolrun:
  14. LOL I am usually the only Brazilian girl on these websites... I am a member of wdwmagic.com, a Disney Fan website, and I am "the brazilian girl"! Cool! A printed list will help me a lot! Thanks!
  15. I just love it!!!! I wish we had Thanksgiving here... It's just the best time of the year for me, and I am so happy I'll be there!!!!
  16. I'll definetely camp out!!! As I'll have to drive from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale to shop at BrandsMart, I'll leave Orlando around 9-10 PM, to arrive there between 1 and 2 AM. Maybe then I'll be able to go to a second store and get more deals...
  17. Thanks a lot!!! I always have a great time when I go there, specially because I generally go to Disney World! Well, I don't know about sleeping, because our hotel is in Orlando, and the closest BrandsMart is in Ft Louderdale! So we're gonna drive there... Sleep in the car while we wait. Our first item will be the digital camcorder, we will buy 2 or 3! (One for us, and the others for people here) And a microwave, which will require a cart. A printed shopping list will be awesome!!!!!!!! Thanks :)
  18. But I can wear some younger girl's stuff too...
  19. For myself, like make up, shampoo, skin treatment.....
  20. Yeah, I am trying to check things in advance, to have a game plan. I'll buy a lot of stuff, as people here are gonna give me money to buy stuff for them. You have no idea how expensive such things are here, so for me, it means even more than for you guys. For example: JVC digital camcorder. There, 199 on BF. Here, more than 1000 dollars!!!!! So, I'll charge 350 dollars, they will be paying almost 1/3 of the price and I'll get 150 dollars for myself. I already have a small list, and I'm sure I'll have a big list in November! I wanted to buy things like make up, shampoo, toys, too... That's why I wanted Walmart, Kmart, I don't know... Which store do you guys think is better to buy such "girlie" stuff? Thanks a lot for you advice!!!:)
  21. Hi, guys! I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I've been to the USA many times, but this is gonna be my first Black Friday!! Well, I am terrified.... I think I'll be totally lost, and I don't even know where to start. So, could you answer some questions, please? It would help me very much.. 1. Is it possible to shop in more than one store? I wanna go to BrandsMart, but another store like Walmart, Target or Walgreens would be great. 2. Are there any strategies to buy? Like should I get a kart? It's me and my aunt, so we thought of going to different sections. What time should we get there? Should we prepare shopping lists? Any other hints? 3. Do you think I will survive? Any advice will help me a lot!!!!
