Mostly DVDs for me...also the Little People Ride-On, and one of the spinning frame thingies. We're rarely in the market for big stuff, I just like being able to get nice things as gifts that are $10 or less.

Thanks so much! So, right away I notice it says those toys exclude Online Exclusives - should we take this to mean the same offer will be available on the regular toys (and most other things) online? Much as I love Kohl's, a trip to the store, especially for BF, usually has me buying all sorts of things I don't really need! Also, 4am?! Holy %$#&!

BeautyChoice (Chi Hair Straightener)
queenofshopping replied to Oly's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Ask your stylist or someone you know in the industry if they know any good deals. Sometimes the Chis are on sale at a professionals-only beauty supply store I go to. You're often likely to find a cheaper one that was a limited edition (they just change the outside color/finish) than the basic black. -

What ever happened to plans to boycott WM on BF?

Best ad so far! Finally, something B&M I can be excited about!

I'm 99% sure my Target had Indy4 knocked down to $13 when I was there last week! I was shocked just now when I opened the ad scan!

Didn't BB have one online last year? Or am I having delusions?

Are Online Sales better this year than B&M?
queenofshopping replied to Cinnamonhuskies's topic in 2008
I think this may be the first year of my adult life in which I don't do the crack-of-dawn B&M BF shopping. The deals seem to apply less & less to who I need to shop for each year, and seem to be more along the lines of insane steals for a select few who will wait in line for 12 hours, and then some accompanying sales that aren't really good enough to get me out to the stores. I've been getting some really fantastic deals online this year, and that, coupled with the great sales I saw in the last 2 weeks before xmas last year, tells me the traditional BF's not worth it. -
New Hot Topic clearance markdowns
queenofshopping replied to peppysfireball's topic in Online Hot Deals
I don't remember getting something with a birthday code I've had an account with them for years now - I feel cheated! *sulks* Anyway, thanks for the codes, I was just browsing cos I live for the extra 50% off clearance, but thought I probably wouldn't order b/c of shipping - now I think I will! -
i can't believe i missed this! i ordered from there on the 9th or 10th! anyone know if there's any way i can rectify this? *is expecting not*

Letter Received from Walmart's Legal Representatives
queenofshopping replied to Brad's topic in 2008
Not surprised at all. Anyway, their so-called deals are seldom worth the insanity experienced in their (already chaotic) stores...I don't think I've gone there on BF in about 2 years, and I wasn't planning to go this year either. -
Shopping for yourself or others on Black Friday?
queenofshopping replied to robertmorr1999's topic in 2008
I wish I could say only for others, but alas, I always get a bunch of things for myself (only if they're really good deals...usually cheap DVDs) & give them to my mom to 'give' me for xmas! -
How long do you normally stay out on Black Friday?
queenofshopping replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
I go out in the wee hours of the morning, and like to be back home by about noon - most of what I go for is the Early Bird stuff anyway, and I need my post-insanity nap! Sometimes I'll go back out on Saturday afternoon to get the things I know will still be there. -
How many years have you been going shopping on Black Friday?
queenofshopping replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
Good question! I want to say this is my 6th year? -
How far in advance is your Black Friday plan ready?
queenofshopping replied to cassgurlie04's topic in 2008
For the adults, weeks before, but for the kids, unfortunately, I can't finalize until Thanksgiving, when I pass the circulars around for them to get ideas from - asking for ideas over the phone never works, but I've found that, with pictures put in front of them, they can at least give me a general idea of what they want. Anyway, yay, first post of BF '08! It's great to be back! -

honestly, i feel like i shouldn't have even bothered going. • got to CC around 4:15, expecting to be #100-200 in line (wasnt really going for doorbusters) - boy were we shocked to be more like 400th! after 10 minutes we said 'screw this' & left • drove down to BB just to see what the line was like - not as long as CC but literally 4 people WIDE, lined up very neatly, so there were prob about as many people there • went back to where CC is to go to Old Navy - got there at about 10 to 5, we were maybe the 25th on line max - wound up getting a $15 womens pj set & $15 jeans, but no mp3 player (they told us they only had 30, but whatever, they were crappy anyway) • meanwhile, before going into ON our small group was witnessing the insanity at CC next door...a few minutes before 5 the usual groups of people started getting out of their cars & walking toward the door. lots of yelling, etc. and eventually 2 police cars came. i was explaining to my friend, & prob to the others near me who i noticed were listening, that this happens every year, & the people who have been in line since yesterday afternoon are ready to duke it out with these new people. CC gets a FAIL for not dealing with this • back to BB, where there was no parking in the entire 15-store strip mall thingie. no line to get in (this was around 5:45), but the things i wanted were all long gone. i was very disappointed & left, tho my friend actually stood in line to buy a full-priced item • back one more time to CC - it was now between 6:30 & 7 and there was still a line to get in, but a short one. got almost everything i wanted, incl the sandisk 2GB mem card ($7 AR) & 2GB mem stick ($13 AR i think), west wing s7 ($15), night at the museum ($9), shark tale ($6) & walk the line ($6). my friend, while standing on the long line with me, found all the things she thought were sold out - $199 19" tv, $8 (AR) notebook chill pad, & $15 madden '08 for ps2 • got to the mall around 8:30. crap at b&bw. friend got $120 back massage pad (not on sale) & $70 peacoat (reg $160) from sears. i got the cross pendant morning special at macys for $25 (reg $80), & a pin for $15 • finally stopped WM on the way home - friend got...i don't remember what. i got the queen cd for $5 for myself...this was like 12:30 - place had, surprisingly, a lot of stuff left, esp toys (but not the $3 dvds) my biggest victory was at 3am E before i went out - got on amazon when their BF went live & got a $200 2GB sansa mp3 player for $50 + free shipping! i think next year i'm doing all my shopping online! -
i won't be 'boycotting' wal-mart, just (most likely) skipping it because it's completely insane there & i don't feel like dealing with the chaos when there probably won't be any significant deals and while target is usually more calm on BF, i won't be going there either, because, well, their ad sucks!

What year, in your opinion, was the BEST Black Friday ever?
queenofshopping replied to cireafan's topic in 2007
maybe, but not everyone demands high-def. the picture on my 10 year-old tv is just fine, thanks -
i, personally, will be spending less, but my family in general will be spending about the same i'm hoping the economy will have at least a bit of a rebound once dubya is on his way out

Already bought something now I see it's cheaper.
queenofshopping replied to shopping4my3son's topic in 2007
i'm not sure what TRU's policy is with price adjustments...most places have a certain window in which you can get them, i think usually about 2 weeks...you might be better off returning the first & just re-buying
