Is that for everything that a competitor has listed on sale, or only on appiances?
-
When a store displays items for sale, there are usually wooden platforms that the items are stacked up on. Sometimes in very creative shapes. Those wooden platforms are called pallets, and we are referring to the entire display of sale items when we refer to pallets on this thread. Wal-Mart wraps the entire display and unwraps as the blitz/door buster items go on sale at 6:00 AM. By hidden we mean that they'll set up a display of items in a department you don't expect. Such as turkey fryers over in Electronics, or some such. And since at a lot of Wal-Marts you can't see what is under the plastic wrap, you have to go ona search for the items you want to grab as soon as they are unwrapped and are on sale. So, the 'pallets' are 'hidden.'

Hmm... Last year, the Wal-Mart SuperCenter I shop on Black Friday was open by 4:00 AM. They let us line up next to the pallet we wanted an item from as soon as they unwrapped the plastic off of them. But, they didn't unwrap the plastic until door buster time.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06

Hmmm, since I didn't buy a new one, I can't say offhand. I seem to remember the package was a bit more square shaped, whereas the one I got was more a tall rectangle. I think the newer leveler was made a little more compact as well, so the model number itself may be different. But, since the one I found scanned for $12.22, be sure to write downt he UPC number, as I'm sure that will be different from the one that will scan $49.99. -
While I get excited about the deals, the rush to bring on the season in the stores drives me crazy. Chr-stmas Carols on October 1st? Noooo!!!!

Elena, same here with Beorn, my 12 year old son. Are there any new hot outdoor use products this year? Like rollerblades or the Razor scooter was when they first came out?

Found on an end cap by hand tools in Target today: BDL110S - BullsEye Laser Level Stud Sensor by Black & Decker Orange clearance sticker said original price $48.89 ---> 30% off at $34.22. Scanned at 75% off for $12.22. Paul (dh) has his first Hannukkah present, as long as he doesn't find it! There was a newer packaged version of the same thing on the aisle selling for full price of $49.99. The one I got has a UPC of: 028877487199. The numbers that printed on the receipt (I always forget what those are called) are 085060538. -

When I have the time and cash, I could easily be in Target everyday. But generally I'm not. If there's something I really want, I refer to the UPC list I linked above, and the department markdown schedule, and go check on the item on the day it's department is supposed to be marked down. -
I can understand that. So many people think giving one gift for both Chr-stmas and an end of the year birthday suffices. I say, no way!! But other than that, who else takes down there decorations quickly after Chr-stmas? As a Jew, I don't decorate at home, but as a child we had Roman Catholic neighbors who always invited my sister and me to their house for what they called 'Little Chr-stmas,' around January 6th, Three Kings Day I think. To my Jewish eyes, it was a complete celebration of Chr-stmas all over again! Tree, stockings, presents, festive dinner, the works! Then the tree came down starting the next day. Does anyone here do anything similar? I can't imagine keeping a tree fresh that long. If I remember correctly, their tree was brought home the Sunday before Chr-stmas, and decorated during the week. But, no lights were put on until after sunset on Chr-stmas Eve.

Aww... At 45, do I qualify as a very sweet chatty older lady?
-
Nope. We go to FIL's 3 and a half hours south of Gator Town for the four day weekend.
-
I sure don't, but wanted to say wlecome to the boards!

disneytati, keep in mind in order to PM at Wal-Mart, you have to be at W-M during the times stated in the competitors ads that the door busters are available. for some items, that may only be from 6:00 to 8:00 AM, etc...

I liked the Frapper map created for this site so much, that I created one for the various forums I visit about Perimeter Perusing. If you would like add yourself (or see how much competition is in your area), come visit the Target Perimeter Peruser Map. -
How do the TRU science toys compare to the National Geographic ones at Target? Same quality for a better price? Beorn has pretty much outgrown TRU, so I'm never in there, whereas I'm at Target all the time...
-
Gifts are wrapped right away and set out on display until Hanukkah. One gift a night is given during the eight nights. The torture is going to be great to watch, as Hanukkah comes really late this year...

Noooooo!!! W-M is my only option at FIL's for BF! Please tell me it was an associate who was mistaken!

I know many years ago, like when it first opened, there was a JCPenney Outlet at Sawgrass Mills. I don't know if it's there anymore though.

WTG, Crissy! -
Do y'all think the Storyteller Care Bear will be as hot as Teddy Ruxpin was when he came out?
-
I hadn't heard about it, so I just googled it. Is it the leapfrog product? If it works, it sounds amazing!
-
I've never done BF online. About what time of the day do the BF specials get offered on the online sites?
-
Interesting. I was just told by a poster on a different forum about Target that she agrees with what i said about Sawgrass Mills for the other outlet malls, that you need to really know your prices as you can find many ofthe same things at the same price in the retail stores. But, we tend to shop the major discount retailers. Perhaps she means comparing the prices to what we'll find at at those stores, versus the retailers the outlet stores are selling for.

Kewl! It's done over at Perimeter Perusing at Target. I hope it's a helpful thread.
