Holy cow! If there was a Starbucks in my Target I would be in serious deep doo-doo. I think if there is one they would be crazy not to open at the same time as the store on BF, but I would ask someone the next time I was there. Plant the seed in case they haven't considered it!

I would still go to PM other items, I just would make it a point to be there super early.

DVD's are a great item to PM at Walmart if you are there.

Yeah, they only made three - that was a joke. The point was that the DVD's that are so cheap on BF are pretty old ones not current. But I have seen some good deals on current DVD's on BF, I love to PM those at WM.

I wondered about those, thanks for posting. Do any other stores besides Best Buy do something similar? Seems like a good idea (and a time saver for those at the back of the line, if you are only there for one thing and you don't get a ticket you can move on to somewhere else).

My kids want a real dog, maybe I can persuade them to accept this instead, or just use it for training for the care of the real thing!! LOL

Not everyone is in a financial position to spend $2000. For some people that $29 mp3 player is the equivalent of a big screen TV and it is worth every bit as much. Myself, I have about $300 in gift cards for Target and Walmart and a few other stores set aside. If they don't have what I want/need on sale there I will use them for groceries and use my grocery money for gifts.

Closest I'll get to a Christmas bonus is an "extra" paycheck on 12/29. We get paid every 2 weeks so that would be the 3rd paycheck in the month and no benefits deductions, so I will be BFing with my credit card and hoping to pay it off when the bill comes. May have to change the due date on my cc to accomplish this though.

I go by myself and don't mind it a bit. I always find someone to chat it up with. My dd is 12 this year and I may take her with me, I figure it is time to start breaking her in, but that would only be if my 9 yo dd can spend the night with grandparents.

Single mom of 2 kids in Mesa, AZ. We also have 2 cats and kids want to add a dog which I think may be a Christmas present (early). Eagerly waiting to see what BF offers.

That is my experience too. I love their clearance but even on sale I find most of there stuff is overpriced. Would take a really good BF sale to get me there.

Went last year but they were all out of what I came for I think (my memory is very foggy on this one). So I might go depending on what they have on sale, but I will make sure to go EARLY this time.

You can always get the gift cards for a store you shop at for your everyday stuff and use the money you would have spent there for BF. That's what I do. I get my gift cards for Target or WM we have stores nearby that sell groceries. If I don't decide to use my gift cards on BF I will have extra money from using the GC for groceries.

Mesa/Tempe... Southeast Valley... Arizona. At least we don't have to worry about the weather like some of these other poor chaps. Last year I don't think I even needed a jacket!

Thanks for the advice I will take it out and check it today before sending in the rebate. Ironically the rebate form does NOT require the UPC code, just the receipt. I will make copies of everything before I mail.

I bought a Portable DVD player today at Walgreens that has a $20 rebate. I was looking over the rebate form and it says to submit the original receipt by next Saturday! I am uncomfortable sending the receipt since it is a gift. I will make a photocopy for sure, but I wonder if anyone has had any trouble exchanging (in case it doesn't work) with the photocopy. Thoughts?

All I wanted from WM today was the Leap Pad plus Writing System, since I didn't have anyone to stay with my kids to get there early morning I thought no big deal I will shop online. WRONG! Got up at 5:30a logged on and the EB price is not showing - kept refreshing periodically, tried getting all the way to checkout with out actually submitting payment thinking the price might update there, NOPE! Finally at 7:35a a friend came over to stay with kids while I slipped out to the Wal's - greens and mart. Scored one of the portable DVD players at Walgreens - YEAH. And they still had some of the Leap Pads at WM. Turns out I spent more money than if I had stayed at home, PM'd a bunch of DVD's, but I think I am done shopping at least for the kids. :) By 8:00a in WM there were less people than on a normal weekend day and bunches of cashiers just standing around waiting for someone to check out.

I noticed them but they are not intrusive and I have no objection if it brings in a little revenue to help you guys keep this wonderful site going.

I can't download the ad scans from Walmart (modem too slow) can anyone tell me if the Leap Pad plus Writing system that is an early bird special will be online? I am hoping to shop in my pjs from the comfort of home! TIA

Depends, I bought BF priced jeans in several different sizes because I wasn't sure which one would fit my dd. When I tried to exchange after Christmas they told me I had to return and re-buy. This year I will have dd go and try on beforehand so I know the "right" size and it will not be a present. If you want to try this clarify policy beforehand.

Does she like board games? There are some nice deals on those.

Has anyone ever tried traveling with them in airplanes? I'm taking my 2 kids ages 8 and 11 on a trans-Pacific flight next summer and was thinking of using them to occupy them for the 12 hour flight. Sounds like they might not hold up that well. Thoughts?

The way I read it, sounds like it will work to our advantage. WM cuts prices on other items earlier and offers other special deals on that day. Other retailers have advance notice and try to compete with WM's deals. Sounds like a win-win for the consumer!
