    Hubbies who hate BF....

My DH would rather have needles stuck under his fingernails than to EVER go shopping, much less to go on BF. He does all of his Christmas shopping for me online, and usually doesn't set foot in the mall more than once every 3 years. He would SO not be any fun to go with on BF. He would rush me the whole time. Besides, he babysits the boys, and I wouldn't miss the time I get to spend with my Mom for anything!
  3. I once got the Nirvana greatest hits CD for $7 there on Thanksgiving Day. Made a great present for all my former grunge buddies
  4. Best Buy always only has like-the miniumum amount of the scanners/printers/digital cameras (read the Thanksgiving Day paper fine print), and Target/Walmart usually sell out of the doorbusters pretty quick.
  5. I usually spend a lot at Target and JcPenney. I have a JcPenney card and Target just has really cool stuff during Christmas.:
  6. Walmart-because the employees end up getting half of the bf stash before you are even let in, and Best Buy because they usually carry such a small number of the item listed that you don't have a chance in Hades of getting it. I normally shop at both of these places, but not on BF.

    Weather?

We're lucky if it is even slightly cold, here, as Alabama has very mild falls and short winters. I usually hope it is cold enough to wear a sweater!
  8. I actually posted this in my "Worst BF" experience, but I went when pregnant with my second child, and was so hungry I left the JCPenney line that I had been standing in for over an hour to go eat. Also I had horrible back and leg pain and was basically uncomfortable all day. Plus I was with non-pregnant people who wanted to shop till they dropped, and felt like a big party pooper! I love Black Friday, live for it, but would never do it again pregnant.

    How many...

I don't look great or anything, but I do shower the night before and put on makeup. Sometimes I even try to look a little bit "festive" by wearing red or silver. No need looking like crap when you might run into someone you know!
  10. We have a 7.5 ft pre-lit tree that I purchased at Lowe's for about $125 about 4 years ago. It is a huge hassle to put up and to put away because it is very heavy and awkward to handle. It is in 3 huge pieces that no Christmas tree bag will accomodate. Also, the lights only worked on part of it, so we had to add more lights the second year. I will definately go back to the original kind next time!
  11. DH's family never contacts us (even though we have made efforts), so they are all off of our list this year. My DH and wonderful little boys (6 and 3) will be at the top, of course, along with my parents and my 3 yr-old neice.
  12. I would love to get a plasma big screen TV, but it will all depend on my Christmas bonus (which I am not sure I will get), so I will prob. only be looking on BF.
  13. Has anyone heard any buzz about any TV show box sets being on sale on BF? My hubby really wants the "Lost" one, and I really want "Desparate Housewives", but would like to bypass the $50 price tag if I could. Thanks for any input!
  14. My worst BF was prob. when I was pregnant with DS#2-I was huge, miserable, and hungry (we didn't have time to stop for breakfast). I actually got out of line at JcPenney (yes, without my free snow globe) and went to the food court to chow down on some hot cakes and bacon! I was so tired and sick the whole day-it is definately not something you want to do pregnant!
  15. My mother and I always go now, but usually a whole crowd of us went when I was little. We begin by getting the paper super-early on Thanksgiving Day. Our local town doesn't have a mall, so I have to get the paper for the town about 35 minutes away. We then "map out" our route after Thanksgiving dinner, and clip any necessary coupons. We leave the house no later than 5am on BF, and get to the mall to get our Cracker Jacks at McRae's and free snowglobe at JcPenney. Usually by that point in the year, I have most of my shopping done, so I can get little things and stuf for myself! We also always try to go somewhere fabulous and decadent for lunch. The crowd is sometimes annoying, but I wouldn't miss the time Mom and I spend together on that day for anything.
  16. I have my VISA at the same credit union my savings acount is. I just put back what I spend from savings onto the card the following week. I also have store cards, and on BF you can get discounts there as well. Just remember to pay them off quickly or you will be stuck with all of that interest! Cash is so risky. And there are so many people out there looking to steal on this mega-shopping day. I can't imagine toting around a few hundred bucks and it all being stolen.
  17. I got the V-smile console for my youngest son (then 2), and he is just now starting to play with it a lot. I would think that the V-smile pocket would be great! I got my oldest son (6) the Darth Vadar voice changer with this year's stuff, and a GBA SP. I will prob. get more V-smile games for my youngest, since he is so into it now.
  18. I'm all about the doorbusters! Esp. clothing and toys. I don't usually buy the bigger stuff. This year I will prob. look for specials on movies and TV box sets for DH and the boys.
