I can tell you from personal experience that Acer has HORRIBLE customer service, imho. They are here in America but I had to call several times for the same problem and they were not at all helpful and were actually rude. I ended up tossing the Acer as the problem just could not get resolved (and it was still under warranty). I have never owned a Compaq so I can't help you on that

We love our TomToms...we have 3 between us and they have been awesome and no problems.

Looking for a great deal on a Nintendo Wii
tokanm replied to blssed2bme's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I just bought the new Red Wii...super mario bros edition, comes with the game as well as wii sports, red controller and red nunchuk. I bought it at Kmart for $199. and if you join their rewards program (not credit card or fees just gives you points to use) you will get a $50 GC for Kmart or Sears. I think the sale ends tomorrow -
I do the exact same thing. I love Christmas but once it is over...it is over and I want all the decorations etc down. Of course we don't put it up until 12/24 so why do we even bother? lol It is pretty when it is up however

Kitchenaid Artisan 5qt Stand Mixer
tokanm replied to Jessity's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I got mine 2 years ago at a church yard sale It is white came with all the accesories, even a meat grinder and it looked like it had never been used. It is probably 8-10 years old but works great. I was looking at it on the table and I sheepishly asked " how much is the mixer?" she answers is $15 a fair price? I was yeah ok I guess so. Inside I was jumping up and down and so excited. I absolutely love it and tell people make sure they bury my KA with me, lol:fluffy: -
I also do these but with a Rolo candy instead of a kiss and then I place a pecan on them and they are like turtles...they are a big hit and so simple to make. The hardest thing is unwrapping the rolos one by one, lol

I was thinking of making these this year for gifts. Has anyone here made them before and how dificult/easy are they to make? I was thinking of doing white and milk chocolate and then some with nuts, jimmies etc. Also where could I find those long skinny bags to put them in? thanks

Ever since the boys were born I read 'the night before christmas" to them and even though they groan now when I do it, I know they still look forward to it. they also open 1 gift b4 bed on Christmas Eve.

I did Netflix and my elderly Dad and his wife LOVED it. They did not have to leave the house in bad weather etc. I did have to explain how the whole thing worked but once they started they were huge fans of the convenience and esp not having to return the movies to the store.

Wow we put ours up Christmas Eve.we have always done it this way. It is a good thing as the cats would destroy it if we put it up any earlier

This looks good to me esp the 5 X zoom. The only thing I do not see is image stabilization.? I know many people do not like Kodak but I have a friend who is a pro and said it is all about the lens and Kodak lens are good quality according to her. Kodak also invented digital photography. I think I might take the plunge

Yep it did here. I got several pairs of the reading glasses for 25 cents each, as well as gift bags galore for .25 and some bath poofs and coloring books (for work) all for .25. The cashier asked if their were more. There was still quite a bit left. My biggest deal was reebok rolling duffle bags, the big ones with all the pockets on the outside and the collapsable handles. I got one in pink and one in black for $9.98 each. 2 Xmas gifts down. They were normally $50 according to the tag. -
when DS was 3 he wanted a "soap on a rope". i have no clue where he had ever seen those but he got one, hung it up in the shower and he could not reach it lol

My favorite site for Holiday recipes is www.northpole.com then click on cookbooks recipes. The whole site is just nice for everyone, both kids and adults, all sorts of holiday ideas/fun. I also like to do the gifts in a jar as well. I have done hot chocolate mixes, dry soup mixes as well as cookies/breads. I find most people seem to enjoy them and they are fairly cheap esp if you buy in bulk. Here we make Monkey Bread every Christmas morning...tradition. We also used to snack on homemade Chex mix but since grammy died this summer I don't know it that will continue though:(

I finally got the Black and Decker convection toaster/pizza oven I have been stalking. It was 30% off, then it went to 15% off . It was marked $55.XX on the tag but I scanned it and lol and behold it is down to $39.xx so since there were only 3 left I bought one. Lots of electronics and kitchen ware on clearance here. I looked but they did not have those Poketo bags in Easton Mass store -
A horse that I had really wanted to "save". The owner had told me he was being put down cause he was useless and I begged and pleaded for him not to. I didn't see the horse in his paddock anymore and I was so heartbroken. My father had gotten my the horse and hid it at his fathers barn. I went out to feed the animals on Christmas morning and there he was I had thought he was dead and I was just so happy. I think that was 1972 or so. Of course the horse was old and couldn't be ridden but he was a great campanion horse for the barn and he lived out his life being spoiled

What is an electronic waste disposal fee? I have never heard of that. We do not even have recycling here unless you buy a pass and then lug everything over to the next town Therefore everything here goes in the dumpster for free. Someday we will get into the 90's around here;) We do still have the old town dump for big items -

We have an Omaha Steaks here in town, it is a tiny store but the food is good. I too only buy when they are having a special sale. Ordinarily their prices are outrageous:eek: My guys LOVE the stuffed potatoes and the burgers and steaks. I do believe it is really high quality with no fat, that I can see at least.
