  1. So, your real savings is $154 in BBB'S, minus the $111 you put out of your own money?
  2. We've got the "Black Friday post partum blues".
  3. No shipping---online. Amazon seems to beat everyone on prices.
  4. I don't know about BF, but I know Wal-mart has fake shoppers walking around, cause one day I spotted one!.............. I was looking at make-up, and I'm always digging in my make-up bag comparing colors or looking for color names,........... well one day this 18 yr old kid walks up and reaches for a nail clipper & file kit. A while later I thought that was kinda odd, I came around another aisle, and he was still walking the makeup dept. then kinda following me.........At one point I sorta backed into him, said excuse me and he refused to make eye contact w/me and stared at the makeup hung in front of him as he passed..............So obvious!!! I just chuckled, and thought, he assumed I might be slipping lipstick in my purse!! I did tell the woman at checkout that he needs to be a little more obscure!
  5. I was gonna post candles also, they're nice and you don't have to worry about peoples decor. Even though you don't like the ppl, make sure you get ones that don't STINK! Gift cards are tough because there's a dollar amount on them, rather than getting them something real nice and them never knoowing you got them cheap.
  6. I was just about to post this ques.........my DD is looking at the nano for $200. She has an iRiver that holds 250 songs. I saw a Toshiba Gigabeat 10gb that holds 2,500 songs with an LCD screen for album covers and graphics for $189...............I really didn't wasnt to spend an additional $200 for a nano for just another 250 measly songs. so..................isn't the Toshiba a much better deal, I do think the Apple Ipod is just a name thing.
  7. Still let us know what its like, I almost bought that one. I got the last Polaroid 15" LCD at my WM, but wasnt sure if it was rolled back to 178 also. So I held on to both. When a Mgr. told me it was I opted for the Polaroid. Another lady was VERY happy when I released the Symphonic to her.
  8. I refused to buy anything with MIR. Takes too long to get money back. I bought a flip phone back in august, put out close to $250 for a $99 phone. Still waiting for my $$$$$$$$!
  9. I left at 2:30 a.m. got home at 9:30 a.m. came on here from 10-3, slept from 3-6:30p.m.
  10. They are WRONG!! Even if an item goes off sale, and the sign is still up, they have to give sale price. I never heard such a thing!!!! Now I could see if there was a time limit, like after 11a.m. but I would of said, "where does it say first 30?"
  11. I bought a 15" LCD TV, Dying to open it NOW, but I buy myself so much, I think oh, this can be my Christmas present. But if I open it now, I know my DH will want me to open something Christmas morning, and I don't want him to just buy anything, because I buy so much as it is........................Meanwhile, the LCD sits looking at me, Open, open, open........................

    Talking In Line

In lines where you wait that long, under such conditions, well, it helps to get to "know your nieghbors". We actually bonded, looked out for each other even AFTER the doors opened, had each others back. After some of the horror stories and the CNN reports, well, its nice to know that not everyone was just out for themselves. One lady reminded me to "Grab one of those desktops!!" when wal-mart sold out of the LT. She pulled one for me and offered to watch it while I went to look for another LCD TV.
  13. They could put a sign up telling everyone "________ soldout". Then everyone could go back to their warm cars. For the non super stores, there has to be a way. The no voucher/free for all is just a disaster waiting to happen.
  14. My wal-mart had tons of them, two huge pallet boxes that came up to my chest.
  15. I want to thank the five ladies in front and back of me who allowed me to move my car up to a space near us so we cold switch off to get warm. And who made standing in line FREEZING your A$$ off, tolerable. And one of my "line ladies" who, after the laptops @ wal-mart sold out, told me to "grab one of those Hp desktops!", preceded to drag one off to the side for me and said she would watch it while I looked for something else. To the staff @ wal-mart, who were friendly and accomadating.
  16. Our Wal-mart had an L shaped line marked off with hundreds of their shopping carts that ran along side of the building. No one could try to cut in up front with all those carts in front of the ONE entrance. I just didn't like that if you didn't know where to go and was in line from the night before, someone who got there much later had the same chance.
  17. Good job grapico!! I'm sure the joy you extend to others will far outlast any money you could have made. You were very fortunate to get all that you did, and I commend you for wanting to share it, rather than keeping it for yourself or making a profit.
  18. But not all places hand out vouchers, and in some cases when they did, it was too late, the front of the line had already swelled. I saw so many trying to scam managers today, trying to cause a scene so the mgrs. would buckle. Didn't work, they didn't care if someone was upset, it was already chaos.
  19. Thats great, but many across the country don't have this familiarity. I think the mgmt. needs to get ahold of the situation BEFORE it becomes unruley. Unfortunately, thats when the violence comes in, when people try to stand up for themselves. It's not rude, it's dangerous!! Do you really think if I voice my distain for someone letting in their Uncle Lou AND Aunt Betty, there gonna say, Yeah, its unfair to you, so we'll go to the back of the line??
  20. What do you think can be done in the future? I'm reading so many posts about how people were 20 to 30 in line, then by 4 a.m., they were 100 in line by people holding spots. The voucher could work, but I think they wait too long. By four o'clock, people have already started eeking in front of the people who were there hours before. I read somewhere that managers were stamping or numbering people, this could work if the mgrs could start to do it early enough. If you step in line late and the person in front of you and back of you have a hand stamp....................I would think the store would find this to work in their favor, I for one wouldn't want to have 20 pieces of merchandise only to have 500 people charging towards me! Gone are the days when we were just trying to nab the hottest toy, we're now talking hundreds to thousands of dollars in savings on pc's, plasmas, etc! There's Got To Be A Better Way!!!!!!!!!
  21. Got the Hp desktop instead of laptop at Walmart. Got the last 15" LCD TV price rollback from $198 to $178. The first season of "The OC" at Target for 29.97, $54 at Walmart, didn't have ad to PM. Two of my lip liners for .84 cents each Knit cap for $1.99 so daughter can snowboard tomorrow.
  22. I don't know what it will be like in the future, But BF '05 was unbearably cold. It's never been like this for me before. Don't let this year disscourage you.
  23. I wouldn't have stopped at a table for vouchers for the 20" dvd/tv that I thought was for laptops, lost about 10 sec. there. I should have said "Laptops?" to staff instead of "computers?", for they directed me right to......desktops. Missed out on laptop, got Desktop instead for same price. I'm grateful for that. I'm happy.
  24. Our Wal-mart was NOTHING like whats on CNN! We had an L shaped line with a thousand carts, no one could cut in. Got in line at 2:45a.m., about 20th in line. The people in line w/me, awesome! Allowed me to park my car closer, took turns sitting in it. It was freezing!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it wasn't for my mink, I never would have made it! No Vouchers. All filed in peacefully. By the time I found out where the laptops were, Gone. One lady I was standing with said you better grab one of those desktops! Overwhelmed, I didn't realize it was same price as LT. She offered to watch one for me. Grabbed the last 15" LCD TV for $178. They had over 200 vouchers for $98 20" TV/DVD. Tons of $5 carebears in huge boxes. Waited around about 1/2 hr. for my sister to come get the desktop I nabbed her and people watched. Where's laptops?, GONE, desktps, GONE, plasmas, GONE, people actually asked me if I was gonna buy the LCD TV in my cart. Went to Target by 6:45, had about 30 of their $188 15" LCD tv on the floor. Plenty of $5.88 DVD's. Overall, everyone I interacted with was pleasant, from customers to employees. It was a perfect BF day!!
  25. Me too! Here's to a successful shopping day!:
