  1. I was UGLY this morning you guys. I went to my Target this morning to hide some of the Barbie Girls accessory packs that are only 30% but I know will be going lower. I was there when they opened because I have to be at work at 9:00 and I work 40 minutes away. Well about 5 minutes before 8:00 this woman walked up to the door and saw an employee standing just inside the door with Christmas tree in a shopping cart. She made the comment that she hoped that he wasn't buying that because that's what she was there for, a Christmas tree. I was nice and kind of giggled and said "good luck. they sold out of trees on Saturday morning at 8:05." So she gets really snotty and says, "well I was here last night and they had one, so that's why I am here this morning to get it." Well, if it was here last night, you should have bought it last night because it probably won't be here now. So at this point she is being absolutely hateful and ask if that is what I am there for. I told her yes. It wasn't but she was being so nasty about it. So when we get in, I spoke to the manager (yes we are on a first name basis) got a cart and headed for the back. Well, this woman didn't even get a cart. She just bee-lined for Christmas. Her daughter dropped her shoe probably 5 feet inside the door. I called her probably 4 or 5 times and said, "ma'am, your daughter dropped her shoe." "excuse me, you dropped your daughter's shoe." and she was SOOOO worried about getting a tree that she wouldn't even listen to me. Well she beat me to Christmas by 45 seconds or so and there was a tree. A white glacial pine pre-lit 7.5 foot....SCORE!!! but she didn't have a buggy and no way to do anything with it. :sidesplitAs she walked past me to get a cart, she said "That's mine." :gdcensored:so I did what any red-blooded Mississippi girl would do.... I picked it up and put it in my cart and went to toys. The thing is, honestly, I wasn't there for a tree, didn't need another tree, didn't want another tree, have no use for another tree and the only reason that I bought it was to keep her from getting it. Sometimes, it pays to just be nice, you know. If she hadn't been so dog gone ugly, I might have given her one of the 6 I bought on Saturday. Oh and I forgot the part about breaking my finger in the process. When I put the tree in the cart, I got my finger caught between the tree and the cart and broke my finger. The price you pay for being ugly I guess.
  2. Howdy Neighbor!!! I bet we have run into each other once or twice.
  3. You all had me getting nervous thinking that maybe my stores got that call and I was at work. But, I called the store and no go.. we are STILL at 75%.
  4. ME TOO!!! Come on East Coast shoppers!!!! I'm only an hour behind you, so I have to hurry hurry if today's the day!
  5. Codes entered tomorrow (1/4/08) will be double points.
  6. I love you. I saw you posted yesterday morning too so this morning I thought to myself, Self, you need to get up and check Gottadeal to see if Halee's mom says Target is 90%. If it is, you have to get up, but if it's not, you can go back to bed. Because your stores open first and you are nice enough to share with us, I can go back to bed. THANKS!!!!!
  7. Do you have this code? I just ordered pictures and picked them up last night. I could order an extra one.
  8. This is what I'm screaming.... They even let me have the pedicure aromatherapy one and pay the $6 difference... so I got the really really cool one for $15!!!! I was so excited and then I got the chair cushion massager too. Total was $23.xx. Mark 2 more gifts off the list.
  9. They usually don't release them until about 4:00 - and you have to try over and over and over, but if you get them it will all be worth it... just keep trying.
  10. What is the difference between this one and the regular 80g iPod??
  11. Whew, you scared me for a minute there. I just checked mine and they are still up and working fine.
  12. That's where I get mine. LOVE Jelly Belly!!
  13. Check on January 3 - in the afternoon. It was also on the news this morning that scalpers were selling tickets at 8:15 (Miley went on at 8:30) for $40!!!!
  14. FYI for those of you hoping to attend the concert - If you don't get tickets right away, don't panic and purchase them from Craigslist or Ebay, etc. Our concert was tonight at 7:00. This afternoon at 4:00 Ticketmaster released 100 tickets. You have to keep trying over and over and over, but I got 2 tickets - 4th row on the floor, dead center of the stage, aisle seats - at face value ($134.50 for both tickets) this afternoon at 4:23! I talked to all of the people around me and they ALL got their tickets this afternoon between 4:00 and 4:30 - and there were 40 empty seats in our section.
  15. It wasn't. I bought it November 3 - both were on sale... I just thought that he would like the collectors one. He said yesterday that he wanted the regular one because it would fit better in his case. Go figure!!! But if I have to pay $15 extra for it, he can have the ugly box.
  16. They were both on sale when I bought it - but neither of them is on sale now.
  17. Okay - I'm sure this is not where this is supposed to go, but I figure where better to get an answer... I bought Family Guy Season Five "Collectors Edition" for my boyfriend for Christmas. It was on sale for $19.99, regularly $34.99. Yesterday he said he would rather have the "regular" one instead of the collector's edition. My question is - Can I exchange it for the other one, without paying the difference of the sale price to the regular price?
  18. F&F sale has always been 40%off regular, 20% off clearance - no discount on priced just right. Employees only get 40%, except twice a year they get an additional 10% on clothes that are within their dress code (so that they can wear them to work).
  19. They are wrapped in the beginning, yes. But #1 opens his. So #2 knows what #1 has, but doesn't know what else could be on the table. We do this every year and last year, there were DVD players, Best Buy gift cards, liquor store gift certificates (very popular among 19 year old hockey players), etc., and then there were some really oddball things too. A red bird clip on tree ornament for example. So they never know. #1 could get a relatively small box that holds an index card saying "You have won a 20" LCD TV". #2 could take that away from him, #1 chooses again and gets a DVD player. #3 takes the DVD player. #1 chooses again and gets a stuffed animal. Now it's #4's turn.
  20. I am the ex-general manager of Wingate Inn in Destin, Florida and the Hampton Inn on Okaloosa Island (Fort Walton Beach). You can absolutely negotiate a room rate. First - ask for the director of sales. They have the most leave in negotiating rates. Their motto is "heads in the beds". Depending on what property you want to stay at, the break even point for them is probably around $40. You won't likely get anything lower than that. AAA, government, AARP, Entertainment, they are all the same 5-10%, nothing special. Depending on how ethical you want to be about it, you can tell them that you are the event planner for your company and that you are considering their property for your annual conference, but you would like to come stay for a few days to compare with another nearby property. Be sure to ask about meeting space, conference rooms, banquet pricing, etc as well. Takes a little more of your time, but usually worth it. You can also tell them that you have a quote for $XX at another property nearby and see if they will match it. I have even called a different property than where I wanted to stay and told them I had a rate of $XX at a 3rd property and asked if they would match it. When they said yes, I would call the property where I really wanted to stay and say, I have a rate of $XX at property no. 2, will you match it. Most likely they will. Once you get your reservation - make nice with the front desk staff. Call at the same time of day (so that you get the same desk clerk) once or twice a week and ask really funny off the wall questions, like how far are the rooms from the parking lot, how will I call the front desk from my room? Are your rooms air conditioned? How many gallons of water does your swimming pool hold?, you get the point. Always be funny, learn their name, chat them up. When you check in, tell them who you are, that you are on your honeymoon, it's your birthday, it's your anniversary, its a full moon, etc. give them a reason to want to help you, and they will. Can you say UPGRADE??? I have even had people check in to my property that the desk clerks liked them so much, they not only upgraded them, but 100% guarantee credited the entire room rate - they said the elevator was too loud!!
  21. Nah - what they do is they draw numbers. The person who has 1 goes first and chooses a gift off the table. The person who has 2 goes next, and they can EITHER take a gift from the table, OR take the gift from #1. 3 can EITHER take from the table or from #1 or #2 and so on. Each gift can be "stolen" 3 times and then it belongs to that player.
  22. A great big THANKS from me too. I absolutely love this site and tell everyone I know ... and half the people I don't know ... to check it out. I was in line on Friday for several hours and told probably 100 people (and that's on the conservative side) about this site.
