  1. Yea, there is no way I could squeeze the 24" onto my desk. I'm afraid the 20" is gonna be a tight squeeze.
  2. That's alot more than me except maybe during the summer when I change to 5 at a time. Last year I might have gotten 4 defective dvds from netflix. Just this past month, I've gotten 4 cracked dvds from bb and 4x they sent the wrong dvd. It was an easy decision for me.
  3. I've used both. In May 2004, I joined both netflix and blockbuster for their 3 at a time plans. I quickly realized that netflix was a far better service. The shipping times were shorter with netflix as well as their turn around time. At first, I figured this was due to blockbuster's warehouse being farther away from me than netflix's warehouse. A few months later, blockbuster opened a warehouse in the same city as netflix's warehouse. This did not improve blockbuster's service. I terminated my blockbuster subscription soon after. When blockbuster sent out an email at the end of the year asking to come back for a month for $1, I decided to give them another try. At times, blockbuster's shipping and turn around time seemed to rival netflix's. This was sporadic as was the mistakes. For example, three times I ordered an episode of a series and three times I received the wrong dvd. I'm waiting on their 4th attempt. I have never experienced throttling with netflix. During the summer I average at least 20 dvd's a month at 5 at a time. During school my rate probably goes down some. I usually get new releases the day before or day of the release if I time my returns. Overall I have been very pleased with netflix and would recommend them to anyone. I'm sure that a person's service with either netflix or blockbuster would depend upon their distance from the shipping warehouse.
  4. Harddrive deal stolen from another forum. Starting tomorrow Compusa will have a maxtor 200 gig internal harddrive for $49.99 AR. That's a good price - 0.25 per gig. While I was looking at the circular, I noticed that the sony dvdr's will be on sale for $14.99 for a 50 pack. Earlier today I was at compusa and noticed that the sony dvd+r's were made in japan. DVD's that are made in japan are generally considered better quality than those made in taiwan. Be sure to check the packaging before you purchase. Edited to add internal.
  5. Scared me there for a minute. My store isn't closing but the one farther down the road is.
  6. Yea, I don't see anything for 1.99. Could it have been a price mistake that has been corrected?
  7. I tried to check the forums before I left work and got the message that changes were being made. I wondered all the way home what they would be. I like the them. Nice.
  8. Great find. Last winter my daughters and I found three racks in walmart that had shirts and shorts for $1-$3. For three weekends, we'd go and they got to pick out a couple shirts and shorts.
  9. I've tried friends and relatives zip codes and none are in stock.
  10. At my bb, their sony brand dvdr's were not made in japan. They were all made in taiwan. Generally, if the label says made in japan then they are ty. To be sure, you need some software like dvdinfopro. Dvdinfopro is free and can be downloaded here. I've used made in taiwan before and had good results but I try to use made in japan as much as possible. Read this article. It is a little dated but a pretty good explaination.
  11. I was wondering if something was up. I didn't seen any of their good deals last year like what I had the year before.
  12. I'm stuck at home - watching the game. Has anyone had a chance to check out those dvdr's to see if they are made in japan?
  13. I'll have to check those out. If they are made in japan or MIJ then they should be Taiyo Yuden or TY's. TY's are known for their quality.
  14. It's nice. From the pic I thought the usb receiver fit into the mouse but it attaches to the bottom of the mouse. It seems to be real responsive. I need a nice felt bag to keep it in.
  15. I bought a belkin wireless router, several belkin wireless desktop cards, and a belkin wireless laptop card at compusa after christmas/new year's sale - I can't remember which- for $9 each after rebate. I've had no problems what so ever with any of this equipment. You should be able to find some nice sales after christmas through new years. I would suggest you stay with a name brand like belkin, netgear, linksys, and dlink.
  16. When I'm home alone, I tend to turn the heater off or wayyyy down. In the summer I try to keep it just barely comfortable except when it's bed time. I have to comfortable to sleep.

    Help with MP3'S

I"ve never bought an mp3 so I couldn't say. Heck I don't even own an mp3 player. Yea, you don't send someone to p2p unless they expressly ask for it. And you certianly don't do it here. There are plenty of places to read about and discuss that type of stuff. Oh, and like soap opera characters, the dead have a way of coming back.
  18. I can't speak of Mrs.B, but my wife usualy shoots those types of ideas down.
