  1. Is anyone else thinking that maybe the relatively recent media blitz, and online exposure explosion have contributed to the pretty dull BF ad's so far this year? Those of us with a background in business management realize that these sales are pretty much set in stone FAR advance, with the exception of some last minute deals. So, many retailers were hurting after last years poor holiday numbers, and didn't stock up on inventory this year, therefore realize they don't need to be discounting as much to push product this year. As far as Black Friday goes, I think the retailers realize now that no matter what, there will be lines around the block for whatever is in the ad, because of the hype that has developed.. I've been camping out for Black Friday since about 2003. Every year, I've had to get in line earlier and earlier.. My last year was 2005, when I got in line at Circuit City at 7:30, and was number two.. Number three didn't arrive until 2 hours later. In 2006, there was a line 10 deep by 4pm. Even worse in 2007. I've notice every year it seems there are more people who don't realize when things aren't really THAT BIG of a sale, they just go thinking it has to be, because it's the infamous Black Friday. They see something in the ad, and automatically think it must be a HUGE discount. It seems retailers have caught on to this, and over the past couple of years have eased up on the deals, because they realize this day they will sell the items in those ads, no matter what (Not including Wal Mart's problems last year). It's just a little disappointing, this year.
  2. I'm not totally for sure, I'd have to check, but it's expected that the entire Le Couvent line will go 90% within a few days, to include all stores.
  3. 90% off products are almost exclusively at FLAGSHIP stores only.. Juvena products, some Le Couvent, and some other products are 90% off.
  4. This thread is kind of misleading.. Those specials are changing every day for the last 12 days before Christmas. We're having a 12 Days of Christmas sale, where every day a certain product will be DEEPLY discounted. This weekend its 5/$25 signature collection... Lip products are also $3. Aromatherapy lotions and shower gels are Buy 1 get 1 Free
  5. Company policy says no. But certain store's allow it.
  6. I don't believe there are any promotions floating around in any magazines this month. BUT.. With every purchase, you'll receive a $10 off $30purchase coupon, and $10 off $30purchase offer on your receipt.. And be sure to sign up for emails on the website as soon as possible, because there's going to be a "12 days of Christmas" promotion where for the last 12 days before Christmas, one certain item in the store will be DEEPLY discounted (while supplies last), and you'll only get the info if you're signed up for emails!
  7. Soaps were originally intended to be 5 for $10, but it was changed last minute to 4 for $10, with all gift sets being 30% off. home fragrance oils are going down to $4 tomorrow, and the shimmer puffs/wands are buy one, get one free.
  8. Those free-with-purchases are EXTREMELY limited. It's quite possible they've already sold out online. Also, stores are averaging one (1) box of the Free-With-Purchase gifts, so if you have your heart set on it, you'd better go early. There will be no substitutions once they run out, either.. Have fun!
  9. The mailings to new addresses (phone numbers) is random, but as long as you keep shopping, and entering your phone number, you'll get them.. Then make sure you always use your coupons.. You can call customer service and let them know.. They'll send you a coupon in the mail immediately. And as a heads up, ALL gift sets will be 30% off on FRIDAY. ALL of them are included. And the anti-bacterial will be 5/10, not 4/10
  10. So, I've been using GottaDeal since BF 2005, and have been shopping BF deals since a couple years prior to that, but I have to say it's all getting out of hand this year.. All these "Secret on-line, but in-store only, super secret thursday at midnight, etc" deals are just confusing me. I leave my computer for 10 minutes, and come back to find even more threads about more secret items on sale in store and online for BB, CC, Walmart, Sears, etc. THEN I come home today, and I suddenly have Wal-Mart and KMart's black friday ad's in my mail (On the Monday before black friday!!), and they're different than the ones on here! At this point, I'm so confused about when to check online, and where, I'm considering just forgoing black Friday this year... (I had planned on shopping before work, and possibly online) Anyone else feel a little overwhelmed this year??
  11. Awesome, thanks Brad!! I'll have to call my local Sears to verify. I don't want to get there and be stuck in the cold
  12. Wait... So I can do in-store pickup at 4am, an hour before they're opening? Or is that a typo?
  13. Just so everyone knows... Any malls opening before 6am, Bath and Body works will open earlier with the mall.. Otherwise, all standalone, and other locations open at 6am. :)
  14. The lambie blankets will be going on sale in December, generally with a $25 purchase
  15. When you redeem those gift cards, they can't be used in combination with any other coupon

    Clothing

Generally speaking, yes.. Maybe not as great as some retailer's "semi annual" sales, but still very good sales.

    Clothing

Yes, almost all chain retailers have sales on BF, just not all of them are advertised, so the details aren't known until you show up.

    instore pick up

I definitely would not risk using in-store pickup on BF. I would think CC wouldn't waste man-power on pulling items for online purchases on a day like that, which would end up with you missing out! But if you can find the item instock online, I would say you're much better off
  19. Not all of the deals will be available online, and the ones that are, have extremely limited quantities online (if any in stock at all). The sales will be for Friday only, then different sales for Sat/Sun. MOST stores will be opening at 6am. But you might want to check your local stores, as I think the stand-alone stores will open later.
  20. I think, like Princess, a lot of this has to do with the retailers not wanting people to have time to compare prices, and figure out where/what to price match, etc etc. I also think part of it has to do with the seemingly crappy ads this year, the retailers don't want us knowing ahead of time that they aren't having mega sales this year. If we only have Thanksgiving Day to plan out BF, we'll be more likely to show up and shop anyway.
  21. These coupons aren't generally stackable in-store (Some stores will do it, though) And the $10 gift card can't be combined with ANY coupons when you use it (It's good Nov 12 - Dec 24), just so you know.
  22. I admit I get bad roadrage towards stupid people.. Mainly people who run red-lights, pull out in front of me, etc.. But I usually try to keep calm on BF, even though it never works.. I just get so frustrated with people who run red-lights after they've been red for a while, and people who knowingly block intersections.. Parking usually isn't a problem for me, because I generally just park towards the back of parking lots anyway.. But this year might be a little different since I'm working at a mall, and I don't think I'm going to like leaving at 1am walking to the end of a parking lot.
  23. They do have specials the day after Thanksgiving. As do American Eagle, Abercrombie, etc etc... They just aren't mega-sales you see at Macy's, BB, CC, etc etc. They're worth a look, but I would only go after getting everything on my list!
